Steve Bruce has had a fantastic career but the current WBA manager reflects the new breed, and he reflects the old, of which there are only a few left in the game.

Head and shoulders the worst manager I've seen at NUFC. The fact that that 'wee man who got Bournemouth relegated' is working wonders with many of the same players - Schar, Miggy, Joelinton, Longstaff, Willock and others shows this man was a fraud who stole a living at multiple clubs!
An unmitigated disaster at Newcastle, Almiron, Joelinton and many others seemed poor players under him yet when given decent coaching and a modern training regime prove now to be top class. His training consisted of long runs most days even with players who had partial muscle injuries. An archaic over paid dinosaur in his and his coaches methods. WBA decent before he took over and great when he left, Newcastle much better organised, his media mates defended him to the hilt when he was obviously costing each team he managed points, where are they now! He stated just the other day that he recommended Eddie Howe to the new owners, it has been stated categorically that they had been looking at Howe for a while and there was no input from the then manager. Success at Wigan, Hull, Birmingham City. Failed at Villa, Newcastle, WBA. He works well with small clubs with no expectations. Who's fans will put up with his turgid brand of football. But it was obvious they were not at the fine margin because the missing ingredient was something, be it fitness or getting a bollocking, or being a bit firmer with them.
