I’ve yet to see an athlete as fast twitchy as Michael. His explosiveness and agility is unmatched. We won’t even mention the fundamentals and skills, those put him in a stratosphere above all, and no it isn’t close.
This was the 80s/90s too , when they didnt have modern sport science/ recovery methods / injury prevention and all around technology
This was Prime Jordan at age 28/29. He still could leap out of the building, but he also had that deadly fadeaway jumpshot by 91/92. This was the Jordan who could do both; kill you from the midrange and in the lane. And he still had the energy to be a monster on defense. As Jordan got older he became more of a jump shooter and less of a high flyer. In 1991-92 he could still do BOTH
Untill now i cannot see players who have a quality pull up jumper, spin move, foot work, aerial hang time, lefty lay ups like MJ.... Poster moves!
Something I never hear anyone mention is that Jordan is the greatest "in air" passer of all time. He is underrated as a passer in general, but his in air passing is simply the best I've ever seen.
Here is some "Stats" for the people who always try to compare other players to MJ....Michael Jordan is the only player in "History" to Win MVP/DPOY/Slam dunk contest/Steals leader/All star game MVP/Scoring Champion...All in the SAME year!!...Let this sink in folks...No other player has ever even come close to this...Jordan was also the Tender age of "25"...Have a good day
GOAT FACTS!!!!
With 200+ steals and 100+ blocks also within that season...
They not ready for that conversation
CASE CLOSED !!!!
jdareyah you looking for clout?
I can’t imagine how easy it would have been for MJ in this era with the paint so wide open and no big men clogging the lane
I can. It'd be very. Easy, that is
He would score 70 every game
would average 45
@@Cj22toogoated 70 would be pushing it but a prime Jordan would be threat for at least 40 to 45 every night
@@jasonturner6459 it was a exaggeration
I can only imagine how much of a joy it was to watch this guy play live. I’m 27 and I’ve been watching basketball since 2006, and I still hadn’t seen anybody come to close to these highlights. Kobe was closer than anybody else.
I'm 53 and watched him live! He was simply unstoppable especially in the playoffs.
We’ve had players that have superior athletic abilities or superior skill level. Jordan was the first to put the two together and in my estimation still the best combination of skill, athletic abilities and intangibles = GOAT.
The hilarious critiques of this man.. saying he wouldn't score like this in this era... comical
Yes your right because MJ will score double..
Giannis would absolutely destroy this dude in the paint...The competition he is playing against is complete garbage...Athletes are bigger, stronger, faster, better today
@@stayhopeful7697 You're wrong because MJ played against guys like Shaq and actually we don't have centers like Shaq...
@@stayhopeful7697 False. And why you compare 6'6 guard with 6'11 forward? Compare him with Hakeem or Shaq. They both would wipe the floor with Giannis.
@@stayhopeful7697 Doncic, Jokic are bigger, faster, stronger ? What about Joe Ingles and Alex Caruso ?
Ewing, Olajuwon, Robinson, Barkley, Malone, Wilkins were plummers ?
BTW Basketball is about skills, not about athletiscm.
500 years from now, people would still look at his highlights with awe. The fire he had in his game was so undeniable. True icon of the game of basketball.
Bruh this man jumps so effortlessly it’s incredible
Look at how MJ defended in the air. He could even block 7f 4 Mark Eaton. That's really amazing.
left handed blocks on right handed shooters to not create body contact.. Damn. you gotta love the details
Literally every basketball player with the bare minimum iq blocks shots with their left hand lmao. I know to do that and I’m not even good
@@greatest599 You have a minimal IQ, clearly.
chrisx2k6 how so, I mean let’s be honest. Literally every basketball player at every level knows your supposed to block a right handed shot with your left hand that’s common sense s was
greatest599 they don’t lol that’s why they always get called for a fouls or just plain miss the ball
Cam Lucas watch a basketball game bro everybody will contest right handed jumpers with their left hand. And It’s a not a guarantee your going to block it and it never is or in that case Jordan would’ve never been scored on or called for a foul correct?
greatest video greatest player
Back when defense was at least attempted. And opponents felt flattered to be on the same floor with this man. Watch the opposing benches during his highlights.
Mike Gazanchyan Yeah, cause players dont even try today *sarcasm*
@@maxdurk4624Most of them. Especially in the regular season... The regular season is absolute joke in the last seasons.
@@maxdurk4624 They are very contained by rule changes that favor offense and forbid you from using physical play to slow down great athletes.
Them fadaways MJ had was just lethal omg! Just helpless trying to defend it lol
This guy is the best ever
Wilt Chamberlain averaged 37 points and 27 rebounds as a rookie, hasn't played in over 45 years and still has over 50 records, Lebron and MJ are great, but Wilt is the greatest!
MJ had the best layup package
I grew up in Chicago but we didn't have Sportschannel or cable when I was a kid. I could only watch when the Bulls were on WGN or NBA. Still kills me I missed seeing so many of these highlights live.
MJ is The Best of The Best, all time and forever, MJ=G.O.A.T and nobody or nothing will change that, it's easy if you know basketball a little bit. There is Michael later long long long nothing, until finally you can see Kobe and all the rest, today's NBA is just shooting practice as in training, without any defense as in the yard so you can not be a complete player and all are just runners players. Lack of emotions causes emptiness in the audience and a decrease in viewership and is a disease that is boring the current NBA.
Thanks man. MJ in 92 was simply amazing.
GOAT. Greates off-hand finisher as well..
He was better in practice according to nearly all of his teammates. Just insane to think about it.
this was year he had it all. atlhletic ability at 100 percent. he was so in stride with the game its like he is butter all over a frying pan, if the mj played today and you gave him the shots harden take that 100 pt game fs
He also lead the league in steals 3 times.
My goodness what a collection! Wilbon described Michael perfect: "whatever you paid to see MJ play, it wasn't enough - you knew that every night out there - you were going to get the greatest concert of your life"'!
Man even the commentators voices bring back so many good memories..
so he not the greatest?? What do your eyes tell you?? Dude was sick!! Literally sick! Killa
He ain’t the greatest to me tho I know who the real goat is
All these idiots talking about defense was weak back then need to get their eyes checked. The eye test doesn't lie. Jordan played in the most defensive/physical era in basketball hence making it 5x harder to score. Just look at the double/triple teams Jordan scores on vs today where you're lucky to see a second defender in the vicinity. Yes the NBA from top to bottom is more talented OFFENSIVELY today but the true greats can play in any era. Jordan would average 50 with all the spacing, open lanes to the basket and lack of physicality there is today.
Totally agree. A bunch of 7/10 athletes trying their hardest is far more difficult than a bunch of 8.5/10 athletes not trying at all. And that's the difference and why the whole "athletes today are better, Jordan wouldn't dominate" nonsense carries no weight.
Please the 80s was way more defensive than the 90s n MJ didn't win s*** in the 80s.
It wasn’t. The defense in the 80’s wasn’t nearly as good as the 90’s MJ only played 4 full seasons in the 80’s with absolutely no help at all. How was he supposed to win. Also if the defense was so good that’s why teams scored so much back in the 80’s compared to the 90’s. I mean don’t get me wrong, but the best defensive era go
1. 90s
2. 00’s
3.80’s
4. 70’s
5. 10s
6. 60’s
@@cameronnebraska6049 Jordan played in the 80s 90s and came back in the early 2000s. Within that 19 yr window (1984-2003) it was the most defensive physical era in basketball. After he retired for good, the NBA implemented the defensive 3 second rule, a rule that gets overlooked but basically doesn't allow bigs to camp out in the lane like they once did.
@@cameronnebraska6049 80s defense is overrated. The defense in the 90s was better and players were more physical.
GOAT
Laughable
MJ in today's league, where you couldn't touch perimeter players, would be so unfair.
He makes shots that the degree of difficult look good and easy
4:45 confidence personified
Even Kyrie cant touch Jordan's layup package
Craigslist Reply FACTS!!!!!
ha ha. I know you didn't mean this to be funny... but I laughed at "Even Kyrie". layup at :38 -- this looks more like ballet with a ball than basketball. Jordan is in an entirely different category on agility & fluidity of motion than anyone in league history. Forget combing thru other NBA players for it: you won't find it. To see such 'unhitched' motion, you've got to go to Baryshnikov or Nadia Comaneci (female gymnastics). That's not hyperbole.
Cheers
Appreciate this
it's a rare thing that he was so flashy a player in his late 20s and early 30s then change to such a fundamental and experienced player
Boy was tough
Thanks man. Your work is appreciated
Thanks for the great video 👍👍 look forward to part 2
Another great video thanks again! Happy Holidays!
Great vid of one of his best seasons. Thanks!
When is part 2 coming?? This was fantastic
mj is simply efficient all around.
that made him separate from the rest.
Put MJ in any era he would still be Mj. Period.
He did this against real defense... not the bs today
This isn’t real defense🤦🏾♂️ the best defensive era was the 2000s
The god of basketball
Excellent!
incredible
He was so gifted no comparison.
Unbelievable player. No doubt, the best!
You can endlessly watch how the water flows, how the fire burns and how Michael Jordan plays.
The hangtime 😤
The Best Ever
I love how he acts like these awesome moves are like... It aint nothing but a G thang babaay
Back when he still had that late 80s athleticism but started to develop the late 90s mid range mastery.
I finally found 0:23 one of the most smoothest passes I’ve ever seen
This The MJ Kobe said he wanted to play, 91 when he was in his Athletic Prime
No this a year later this is during the 91-92 season kobe was talking about 90-91season.
Lancelot this is not his athletic prime lmfao go watch 85-89
Surveying 85-92 was MJ athletic prime 💯
Athletic prime would have been 87-90 tbh
Bust as far as athleticism mix with skill
92 best
🔥🔥🔥🔥
6:57 no one has ever done that in NBA history.
LETS GOOOOOO
I like michael the way he moves ang float no one can immitate him
Notice how the media always tell that mj had a stacked team , but in some of these highlights the announcers say the team is up by 1 or " the first lead the bulls had " ex the spurs game and that was 91 were they won their first chip. Mj fought and earned his chips that why he was crying so much his first one
The amount carrying on offense mj had to do was like no other player while being efficient and WINNING is why people call him the Goat . The media will NEVER fool me . Lebron 6 greatest player 5 if I'm being generous.
Too right! Theres even a video of jerry west saying he carried the bulls and that not many superstars were willing to do that
@@ngataib3549 while being underpaid fking stupid as shit gm Jerry and was envious of mjs and the teams success. Little brat that mj had to deal with also while winning. Again the shit mj had to deal with was to stupid . And mj respects jerry west because is a class act and dosen't lie he honest I can tell . Plus the jerry understands that mjs offense is literally as scary as his defense. These kids dont understand man 😂😂🤦♂️
@@ngataib3549 Jerry west Got BUCKETS in nba over 10000 points without the 3pt line 🤦♂️ so jerry west knows the truth
The bums that say LeBron or Kobe are better than MJ definitely have never seen him play or seen any highlights. I ain't gonna lie MJ is the undisputed GOAT of basketball. This coming from a Kobe Bryant fan growing up and Kobe copied MJ to the fullest.
One of these games here at home when he dropped 44 against Cleveland was this game I posted below
that late 80s-early 90s (88-93) MJ is unmatched smh...unreal how easy he made it look and how accurate he was from the field during that time frame. the 95-96 season he was still sort of in that early 90s mode i felt (93ish cuz he shot .495 from the field that year and 97 he was around 49% from the field). But i noticed a slight drop off by the 97-98 season, as he wasn't as accurate from the field. he would sometimes have to take a lotta shots to get his points. at 6:52 never gets old lolz
Greatest Ever
The GREAT Bobby Knight said this of MJ...”Not only is he the best basketball player ever he just might b the best player too ever play anything” Larry Bird said this after watching the 21yr old drop 63 on the Celts n 84 playoffs..”He is GOD in basketball shoes” #DropTheMic #TheOneAboveAll
"There's Michael Jordan. And then there's the rest of us. And it's not close." - Magic Johnson
Peak Jordan
The handles at 3:01
His fadeaway jumpshot should be in the hall of fame.
Easily average 50 in this era.. Only person that can average 50 is KD.
Kd not built like that....he doesn't have that takeover gene
Dude, if KD could average 50 he would average 50.
Dude do u watch Sports lol.. He takes less than 12 shots a game lol still averages 30
@@jaisonj92 He takes over 18 shots and averages 26
@@nideeshreddy8368 Who has the most scoring titles other than MJ and Wilt sheep?
hello man! could you please upload mj's 54 points against the knicks in 1992 ECF Game 4?
🐐
Can we get a rookie season edition ?
Ive seen so many jordan highlights and I’ve never seen some of these lol
Michael would average about 50+ pts per game in today's NBA
THE GOAT PERIOD
goat
❤️💯💯💯
Right over your head Hot-Rod, that was cool.
I think this is peak Jordan. Like 03 Kobe or 2012/13 LeBron or 2000 Shaq
i was thinking about what if MJ played Center, would he win a ring, well… he kinda played like a center if you really think about it. He scored in the post, scored in the mid range, passed around the post with other bigs, and played clean up on defense if someone’s man got by him. I always wondered, how did this guy win without a center? the answer is that he sorta played the role.
also because the 3 point shot wasn’t so prevalent at the time, he could also cheat on his man at times, and help in the paint. He actually does this a lot in this video
LeChokes defense consists of chase from behind block and flopping
HOF Acrobat badge
It's so weird to see so many passes to John Paxton who steps 1 foot inside the 3 point line. This is pure sacrilege from an analytics point of view.
🤦🏿♂️🐐🐐
Those hands...
The NBA is just so lame today. It really is. Society in general is so soft and so entitled and that transfers over into pro sports. It's boys today. It used to be men. It's very evident.
I couldn’t have said it any better
Pure Distance Golf extremely evident
you think you could play in today's "boys game"? jesus christ
You would look like a little ass kid against those boys
Sooooo true...
1 person is a Knicks fan
could be Lebron or Curry fan lol
Is this Basketball or beautifully crafted art?
You have to check this video...because every moment Jordan was against tough depencers..
Now NBA...there are just soft standing guys....who are affraid of foul...
foul called foul called foul called foul called foul called. babied that guy.
3rd place in DPOY to Robinson and Rodman this year. 2nd place in DPOY to Hakeem the next season. Never had the benefit of 2nd / 3rd place votes like they do since 2002/03.
All he is going is left
To all you bronsexuals. It's taken Lebron 17 years to barely catch up to MJ's accolades and stats. MJ did all of his damage in 11 full years. He played 13 with the Bulls, lost one year to injury and the other was the first comeback with less than 20 games remaining.
Easy 60 points every night for MJ if you guys call this is a basketball that we are watching now a days
5:45
Is this Jordan a 99ovr? I know the 92-93 Jordan is because he is in 2k. But they don’t have 91-92 jordan in 2k.
😂 Everybody knows that 2K MJ is trash and plays nothing like MJ. Prime MJ shouldn't even have a rating cuz he's too OP. Geeks with zero knowledge of the game make 2K.
Mj vs Steph would be so funny. Curry doesn't get the ball unless he wins a coin toss
Also 2k-2010 was not this flimsy d they play now.
