Pay no mind to the hordes of “last men” with no ears to hear. Seeing John Cage Bubbelgum Live has always been to visit an Oracle, not in the flesh, but as the sound. Stereolab has returned to greatness. They no longer suck. The 21st century may now resume.
@@johnnyjava88 just what I was thinking - I'm sure after she died they used to use the recordings of her parts on the songs when they played live, was hoping they still did
Not gonna lie, I shed a few tears feeling her absence. Quick story in her honor. 1997 after the show me and a friend were waiting outside the venue in hopes to get autographs. The security lady was being bitchy and Mary walks out front and we talk for a few minutes and asks if we wanted to meet the rest of the band. Of course we followed her inside with the security lady mad dogging us. She was the sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever met, no exaggeration.
Sergio S mary was such an angel. i’ve never met her, nor had i known her when she was alive at all, but she was taken too soon. i get incredibly sad thinking about her
00:05 Percolator 03:34 John Cage Bubblegum 07:05 Lo Boob Oscillator Love when Lætita says "Thank you so much everybody, this feels good" before the last song. Hope they make new tunes after this tour.
Surprising what non-fancy equipment they have: Fender guitars and bass, probably not top-of-the-line, an beat-up Ludwig drumkit, and the main keyboardist uses an old Wurly piano and some kind of early Roland preset synth. Goes to show that it's not what you have, it's how musically you use it.
I was front row and right in front of latitia’s mic in this gig! Waited forever to see them and what I witnessed was so much more than I could’ve ever dreamed of.
@@georgec1984 in fact, although the line up wasn't so Primavera, this Primavera was one of the most enjoyable. And I don't like reggaeton, trap and all that "influencers" headliners.
@@roybattynexus6 not sure I feel the same man. I mean in 3 days I really liked interpol, Erykah Badu, Suede, Beak, Stereolab, Sons of Kemet, Jarvis Cocker and Kate Tempest. Also Messthetics and Primal scream were ok, nothing extraordinary but fine. I mean around 8 acts that I liked in a 3 day fest with 15 stages that costs more than 200€. A bit weak in my opinion.
Can't wait to see them next week in Leeds, 25 years after I first saw them in Sheffield !!! Wonderful to see them back together, I hope it extends beyond this current reunion tour! New music please : ) xxx
Extraordinary! I was watching it the other day after the Primal Scream live but the transmission was very disturbed and it was interrupted all the time, good that it was posted here, short video but really exciting! Then, I write it with pride, I'm very happy to have a Fender Mustang (MiJ) exactly the same as Tim Gane's!
I’m seeing them in four days time in London and glad to see they’re looking and sounding as fit as a butcher’s dog!.....Update; they were great! As were the support Vanishing Twin; check them out.
What I wouldn't give to be a drummer in this band. Stereolab produced some clunkers, but that's not surprising given the fact they were always making music. That said, Stereolab made some of the most amazing music I have ever heard. This stuff is timeless.
Oh, my fucking god, how did I not realize that Stereolab was actually making a comeback this year? This is insane to see that most of the original lineup is still avaliable and up-to-snuff with their pre-hiatus performances. Here's hoping they release something, anything, before 2020.

I wish this was the average of the bands. We would speak of a golden age.

A big hand to that rhythm section!
Love Stereolab. You could imagine them just carrying on forever.
Always wondered how Stereolab did what they did. They actually play this stuff in real time. Wow.
I saw them in the 90's - it was like going to church! Happy I got tickets for September!
Check out their 97's BBC Session. It's very interesting how consistent and clinical they are.

So pleased to see that Steroelab still exists. I've just been going back through some of the their albums. Margarine Eclipse is great.

Very talented musicians playing the best equipment money can buy. Fender, Roland and Ludwig... What more could you ask for?
LOL, they are known for using vintage instruments. In a way, IT IS what you have!
The guitars are all vintage, amps and drums are festival backline (with a custom kick head/breakables) laetitia is using a £300 korg minilogue.
