The goblin tinker rng is one of the reasons I love the calamity mod, it not only always reforges to a higher tier, but they even add an NPC that allows you to steal back your coin :D

"Cold Source" in Warmth Potions means ANYTHING that can freeze you or are related to cold; that includes Deerclops, Ice Golems, Tundra Enemies and the Ice Queens.
Also stiky bombs / sticky dinamite are the best to take off spikes, they get destroyed but the dungeon brick doesn't.
well, there is the background walls to watch for, and it happens mostly in spike pits. Explosives can destroy the background walls if the radius includes the outer edge (where it transitions to "not dungeon" biome), and it is much harder to replace the cursed walls that allow the specific dungeon enemies you need since there are 3 variants per color.
The hype for the waterbolt comes from the fact that there is a chance, albeit very low chance, for it to spawn in the room at the top so speedrunners used to hope to grab it to use against skeletron or even earlier bosses for a very early damage boost.
Well, there WAS a chance, pretty sure that's not a thing anymore
It now cannot spawn in the top room! I believe there's still a very small chance you could get one, if your dungeon was high enough that you could find one without it triggering the guardian
Aqua Scepter is better than water bolt really, ever since they moved the waterbolt books below the surface. But being able to bounce around corners is still pretty good. But then... why not magic missile... can just go any where you want with that now.
The book on the shelf that is water bolt always looks the same. The biggest book on the tile is a blue book with a gold-star on the bottom of it. And you can just right-click it to pop it off the shelf. There's usually more than three throughout a dungeon. But since you're in hardcore, there is no need to go through the dungeon and mine every single book...
Though I do question how many water candles you are leaving behind in these clips. I know you know, because you've grabbed them for mob farming before, but they all increase enemy spawns wherever they are, and that could come back to bite you later on in the game. Of course, could also be that you did get them, just didn't show/say anything about them. If that's the case, feel free to ignore this concern. lol

waterbolt used to be hype because it's balanced around being a post-skeletron weapon but used to be pre-boss if you got lucky
party girl does actually sell something super useful during parties: pigronatas, which can be broken (grapple to a ceiling and place it on said ceiling to do quickly) for bacon and party bullets, party bullets are THE strongest bullets in pre-hardmode

I love the zapinator just doing a casual 1,036 damage immediately followed by 598 AND 533 damage to Skeletron. Over 2k damage in only a couple of seconds.
One of my favourite tricks is the fact that crafting something gives it a random modifier, so shimmering it into its components (assuming that its craftable) and re-crafting whatever accesory or weapon you wanna reforge, gives it a new modifier. It takes a while compared to reforging with the tinkerer but I usually prefer it over spending a billion gold to reforge one single accesory

my trick for fighting deerclops is running onto one of those little tundra lakes with waterwalking, and he will go right to the bottom. this keeps him from being too far away to safely fight him, while putting you in a good position to avoid getting hit.
I have never seen the goblin tinkerer screw someone over so bad like that's actually insane. I know sometimes people fall into the trap of going for a reforge that is not possible for some detail like the weapon not having knockback, but the night's edge absolutely can be legendary

and now you see why i love shimmer so much. if it is a tinkerer's workshop recipe, i reforge with shimmer for guaranteed but slower ideal modifiers. If it is an altar recipe.... well, where is the nearest altar?
Also, if you are at the gem farming point for crate potion ambers, you should probably do a gemcorn farm to make them renewable.
Water Bolt was amazing when you could (potentially) get it pre-skeletron. Nowadays it's been changed to always spawn well below the point that Dungeon Guardians spawn, so you can't sneak in and get it early anymore.
Well the warmth potion would have helped for the deerclops fight. Apparently it negates 30% of all frozen enemy themed attacks. So any attack from any snow enemy deals less damage, that includes all of deerclops' attacks.

You can save money on reforges by de-crafting with the shimmer and re-crafting the accessory or weapon
Warmth Potion can decrease damage taken by Deerclops' Ice attacks, all Ice themed attacks and also the frost queens attacks

Have you considered shimmer reforging? You drop an item into shimmer, get its materials and hope to get a good modifier when you recraft it. Of course doesnt work for nights edge since you need to craft it at a demon altar so you cant spam it over and over but it would work for obsidian shield and a bunch of other accessories and weapons.
I get bored using the shimmer that way really quickly. Would rather plunge myself into debt

hey if youre going to farm any items in the dungeon post plantera I would HIGLY recommend building a farming area or spawn proofing the dungeon by placing a layer of blocks over the dungeon bricks, I would also recommend doing this before hardmode because of how much more difficult the dungeon gets (also the reason why skeletron started shooting skulls so early is because you lowered the main head's health too much)
I like to mark biome chests with torches that spell out an abriviated letter or two to indicate what's what (i.e. H for Hallow, Cr for Crimson, etc.) That way, I can tell on the mini map where to go directly to instead of checking one by one, or hoping I just remember

Fun fact for skeletron he will shoot skulls after he gets below half hp

Actually it's at 75% HP.
He shoots skulls as soon as one hand goes down or he reaches 75% HP. The skull shooting speed is the same for if his health is either at 75% or one hand goes down. Getting rid of both hands will trigger the faster skulls, regardless of HP.

for me the hype for the waterbolt was getting it pre boss and using it to kill bosses easier and faster but cant really do that anymore atleast not as easily. remembered using it against thorium's grand thunder bird a while ago.

I turn 23 at the end of the month, and when i started playing terraria 11 years ago the dark lance was my to die for weapon. when i started playing the game again last year i realized how bad it is now compared to the nights edge and was i heartbroken
I've been playing on a drunk world and when I was setting up pylons, I noticed that the witch doctor sells Tundra pylons if you pair them with the painter , I don't know if that helped tho
Note: the jungle and the tundra spawn within each other on a drunk world so......
Honeyfin have the same efficiency as Restoration potions: 2 HP per second of potion sickness
Deerclops is 100% the most terrifying part of this challenge in my personal recent opinion

You should definitely fish for the hardmode ores because breaking an altar unlocks the pirate invasion =) just if you want to not deal with them right at the start
The pirates have never spawned naturally in any hardcore run I've attempted, guess I'm lucky that way, but somehow I doubt that'll happen with how long I'll be on this run

Remember... In master mode, the bosses have amped battle changes. So yeah, Skeletron just does that anytime he gets lower on health.
"Damage from cold sources" is supposed to help with that freezing debuff you get whenever you get wet in the tundra. Ice slimes can freeze you as well. And of course Deerclops can too... but the potion has been around for far longer than Deerclops has.
In two of the communities I frequent, that state where your brain kind of goes into melty over-taxed mode, and bad decisions are made, actually has a name. They use the acronym RIND, and turn it into the word rindy, when it is actively happening. R,IND. stands for "Really, I'm Not Drunk." and most often happens when someone is SO tired, that they can't think straight, make silly/dangerous decisions in their games, and appear completely shnockered-drunk to outside viewers. So you want to tell them, "I'm so tired I seem drunk, but really, I'm actually not drunk, just very tired." It's like slap-happy dialed up to 11, you know, more severe.
- Only reason I brought this up, was that just before your explanation of why you're afraid (rightfully so, since you are in hardcore) to actually do anything... You sounded VERY rindy, while bouncing around on your planter boxes. lol
- While it is quite funny to see, and provides plenty of 'content', do be careful if you notice that happening a lot... because it's next door to actual mental/emotional burnout, and needs to be taken care of with successful sleep cycles that are longer than simple naps.
in my opinion deerclopse is one of the easiest most predictable bosses probs easier than king slime even below teir

Not at all, lol. Breaking alters spawns hardmode ores but also allows the pirate invasion and mechs to spawn which would be quite the problem since they're pretty dangerous. Fishing for hardmode ores gets around this but it also takes a whole lot longer

Im an OG terraria player and watching you play and what you said about there being nothing to talk about in the dungeon just proves to me how much of a nob u are at this game and how little respect and attention to detail u have for this game, Yrimir is the One and only Terarria You tuber that deserves all the respect and views, he knew the game inside out and it showed. unlike all these ytbers now Jumping screming runing around dying to every slime... recording a guide whilst not having a clue about the game it self and using another guide to record the guide XDD... some of your vid ideas r nice but watching you butcher the most basic terarria mechanics and important aspects of the game is cringe. go read the wiki on the dungeon.
