Can I Actually Beat 100 Hours of Hardcore?

- One of the greatest challenges in Terraria is hardcore, but I have decided to make it even harder by increasing the amount of time I have to spend in each phase of progression. And so, every 10 hours I will only be allowed to beat maybe two bosses. This will open the door for silly mistakes to occur but it will also allow me to spend time gathering supplies. So in some ways it's harder and in some ways not but lets just see if I can survive Terraria hardcore for 100 hours.

For the turtle armor. A full set grants a vastly amplified Thorns effect upon taking contact damage from an enemy, which reflects 200% of the enemy's contact damage back at them.
They take 200% "pre-mitigation" damage from the thorns effect. Which is huge when you start really stacking defensive buffs. Taking 1 damage and dealing 250 back at the person who hit you is so nice.
If you eventually die in this challenge, you should do it in the first minute of the video, and the next 27 minutes are just an image of the death, with mournful music.

Turtle armor's set bonus means that whenever you take contact damage, the enemy that dealt it will take the same amount back but doubled. It's just a thorns effect like a thorns potion or cactus armor but it deals 200% of the damage

I think getting hunter potions should make random enemies less deadlly and they are dirt cheap if you have a shark statue

I think everyone thinks the first mech they fight is the easiest. Then it becomes easier for them by placebo; they will fight the mech first with the worst gear 'because it is the easiest', so they get more practice against it and get used to dodging it under harder circumstances, thus it does actually become the easiest for them. Very weird.
Perhaps. I know the destroyer was easiest for me for a time but now I think Skeletron Prime is easiest.

IIRC, spacing out your duplicate sentries is better than having them clustered right next to each other, cuz if they fire at about the same time, the i-frames make it so the enemy basically only gets hit by the first one. Spacing them out lets them get in actual sequential hits. I could be wrong though, y'all can correct me.

"Why does K.O. Cannon even exist." - I do believe it is a literal "joke weapon". So that's kind of the intent. ;) But I can see people going for it in challenge runs where they use all boomerang (or boomerang-like weapons). That kind of run is the only time you'd really want to use a harpoon gun too, or chain knives, or I guess ball-and-chains ... though those are closer to a stretch for yo-yo only, than they are for a stretch for boomerang-like runs.
The turtle armor is the cactus armor but it does 2x the amount of damage they do to you example: a turtle does 400 damage to you and it takes 800 damage
your calamity series inspired me to play that mod aswell! And since im playing it right now I was constantly asking myself why you werent using rage and adrenaline mode during the first fight xDDD

Have you ever experimented with the luck mechanic? It would definitely help you get some of the things you're farming for. It even has a dedicated article on the wiki, you can look it up
my friend and i are playing an infernum calamity playthrough were on yaron it having 2 whole health bars is brutel im looking forward to seeing u do it on the 1 year world :)
Well my one year run isn't infernum but I do know that fight, it's brutal

I always interpreted the double damage as like the thorns potion, I have no idea why though, doesn’t even make sense. Never thought about it much deeper though so never questioned my conclusion

If you die, use the remaining time left to try and speed run hardcore so that you can complete it in 100 total hours.

fyi the banners in the old one's army are actually the only mob banners in the game that won't be giving you any bonuses.
edit: this isn't correct as of 1.4.4. The buffs are 1/5 of the normal bonuses.

Actually just double checked against the wiki. It's a 20% damage buff instead of 100% and 10% damage reduction instead of 50%. According to the wiki changelog they had no effect up until 1.4.4.

Nah, when mining for life fruits and chlorophite I just throw on the miners armor, ancient chisel, and pop a mining potion and hunter potion! At that point I’m mining so fast the enemies can’t catch me
Sure, but angry trappers could get you and if you mine into water then the fish enemies can fall on you

@@Throarbin I used it in my master mode melee play through first try on my Nintendo switch so you use that information as you will (I also have almost 200 hours on terraria of the Nintendo switch lol) Edit: master mode medium core

To kill the twins with little mobility:
Buy 2 teleporters from mechanic, hook them up a few hundred blocks apart, and continuously teleport between them to keep twins away and unleash bullet hell
