100 Hours of Hardcore But I'm Doing the Dumb

- One of the greatest challenges in Terraria is hardcore, but I have decided to make it even harder by increasing the amount of time I have to spend in each phase of progression. And so, every 10 hours I will only be allowed to beat maybe two bosses. This will open the door for silly mistakes to occur but it will also allow me to spend time gathering supplies. So in some ways it's harder and in some ways not but lets just see if I can survive Terraria hardcore for 100 hours.

If you shimmer an old one’s army sentry, you can cycle through all of them. You should move the Goblin to a better place, that’s why your luck sucks, he is unhappy.

Wait, you can shimmer the sentries? Seriously!? Also I thought the goblin liked the tundra, but either way, I always have him there and have never had luck like this.
@@Throarbin The goblin doesn't have any preference for or against the tundra; he likes the underground/caverns/underworld. The mechanic likes the tundra though and doesn't like living underground, so since they love living with each other most people put them in the snow together :)
@@ThroarbinYea the shimmer is crazy good. Just take a look at the shimmer wiki. Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating for using it.
I always make the Mechanic's floor/Goblin's roof surface level, so I get the boost from the Goblin being underground, but not the penalty of the Mechanic being underground.
@@cbmagus49 And since a liked biome cancels out a disliked biome in the case of overlap, the underground Snow biome is perfectly fine for the Mechanic and Goblin
valhalla armor + vampire knives combo is so fun. i felt immortal when i ran that loadout because any health i lost was instantly regained

Throarbin really need to do research on the Shimmer, not only you could've thrown the Flameburst Staff there to get the Ballista Staff, but you can also shimmer dungeon walls (to get walls that actually allow enemies to spawn) and build an artificial and WAY SAFER area to farm enemies. Also BASED take about the Spore Sac, for the Hardmode Dungeon and AFK Farms, that thing is SO GOOD. Plus you GET BANNERS from it, since it's technically damage that you're dealing and the enemies aren't just getting hit by traps and/or lava.
You've got me on a Terraria kick! I realized after watching your 1 Year, 1 World videos that I have over 600 hours in the game and I've never made it past the mech bosses. Thank you for the great video as always, your energy around the game is infectious and it's wonderful. You breathe new life into a game that's been out for 13 years.
As your run against the old one's army showed, the valhalla armor is really good. The defense is actually insanely high, and the breastplate grants 4 hp regen per second, regardless of whether you're moving, attacking, whatever, which is a huge amount compared to other regen boosts. It's great for mixing armor sets as well. It also helped that you used the ballista staff which is definitely the best of the old one's army sentries. I got the impression from previous times you fought OOA that you kinda underutilized the sentires? But it's been a while so i'm not sure. Congrats on completing your ✨branding✨ in this run with the betsy wings
When you create a character, the game generates a "luck stat" for said character, thus every character has a unique "base luck". I'd argue this character got a maxxed luck roll 😂

I think Golem is easy in the sense that it dies relatively fast, but it can still do a ton of damage if you're not careful, so it's still very scary for hardcore.

Old One's Army isnt that bad if you buy the tavernkeep armor and save up medals from the previous tiers. I can't believe you didn't try the explosive trap staff, as it has infinite pierce and does a ton of damage!

THROARBIE you can use shimmer to recraft stuff for a better modifier so you don’t have to give up your entire life savings to the goblinkerer 😭

Still not convinced that Valhalla armor isn't tanky enough? What if I told you it's a key component to face tanking Master Mode Moon Lord as a Summoner?
Skybox/Healing Station, with Honey, Heart Statues, Bass Statue, the works. Full tank accessories reforged into Warding, including the Frozen Shield, Shiny Stone, Charm of Myths, est, with maybe a Papyrus Scarab to help with summon damage. Don't need to wear wings or boots, since you won't be moving an inch. Have your turrets of choice ready to attack the eyeballs, plus the best summon you have that can go through walls, like the Stardust Dragon. Once the eye balls are gone, reposition turrets below you to hit the heart until you defeat Moon Lord. Don't worry if you get really low on health, since the Frozen Shield buff at 25% should save you.
Of course, I don't expect you to do this in your Hardcore run. At least not without testing. Just something fun I wished to share.

hehei, another episode. I just starting a new master world, dingging a long way left to right just to find a shimmer. guess my world doesnt have it or I need to dig some more... anyways back to watching.

the vampire knives can be useful though the life steal is disabled when affected by moonbite (the debuff from moonlord's tongue).
surprised the moment you got the picksaw you didn't freshen up the golem arena, I always do it just because of the lame RNG for it

I totally just forgot this was hardcore, and it can end in any episode. Usually, people put it in 1 video, just started hardcore a few weeks back its brutal

Yeah, the Valhalla armor is broken, I also heard that wearing that with the squire's helmet gives you insane life regen
Edit: This was nerfed at some point
They nerfed that a bit ago. You're better off just rocking the full Valhalla set and getting more regen elsewhere. Beetle armor got nothing on all the health regen.

I think the vocal audio is clipping in this episode. Everything sounds significantly more distorted compared to previous episodes.
Perhaps, it was while recording this series that I finally found the setting causing the clipping issue, turned out it was OBS's noise reduction. It should be fixed in upcoming videos, either the next one or just soon. I record and edit videos quite a bit in advance.
I have never met the Skelton sniper. Is it a recent addition?
No, it's been around, kind of rare depending on the dungeon you get

Golem is actually easy, you're just bad at the game
the only time I've ever lost to Golem was the first time I ever fought him, and it was in a small room because of the world gen, *and* I didn't even set up platforms anywhere, let alone an arena with heals
and I didn't have buffs, can't forget that part
