I have 2 words to say: The Louvre! Only vehicle EVER to be there. Meaning, it's a MASTERPIECE. Don't start bashing me. I am an American and I live in TX.... but, I love my Rover. My best friend, a former milt. man, told me how they used to use Rovers to pull out tanks.I didn't believe him until I bought one... they are ridiculously "un-stuckable". If you can afford one, GET ONE...If you don't care about scratches on your paint job, you will have the time of your life. Find new paths!!
Attempting to use the HDC on a descent like that would cause a massive accident! I find it actually works better in reverse, when the car can no longer climb something as reverse gear is lower. They really are fantasticly able cars! Im still a big P38 fan myself but really fancy a TDV8.
love the way the trees & grass are all leaning to the right. Certainly gives the effect of the hill being steeper than it actually is. Even our much loved Rangy's can't defy physics..
How can you say this is fake? Have you been there? Obviously you havent. I went to Africa last year with some friends. We started north and traveled south. In South Africa we rented a Toyota land cruiser, and went there. Believe me this is not fake. Its truly amazing what this kind of vehicles can do. THIS IS NOT FAKE!
amazing - I work for Land Rover and these vehicles really are the best in class - trust me just try one and you'll see - they really can undertake some amazing activities.
i got a limited edition land rover 3 gs. only 250 ever made. theyre so capable, i took a friends freelander up a vertical slope at full revs - 3 metres height. they got great looking centre console, great big yellow hill descent conrol, hi and low traction, ride height control, and settings for different surface conditions - rocks, snow, sand etc.
This is friggin nuts...im pretty sure it was all for real...man i would never do all this insanity if i had a RR sport. But i guess the deflated tires really did the trick! :)
I think the most surprising thing is that they still retained oil pressure. That's a very, very sharp angle, and I'd think that all the oil would have gone to the front of the sump when they were descending!
If that's not a camera trick, then I am impressed. Not that I think Range Rovers are the only trucks that could do that, but the driver obviously has some skill (and balls too!)
impressive... no mercedes, jeep, toyota or any other brand that has an suv with offroad capabilities cant beat a range rover offroad.... and its also very luxurious and has good performance.
Not fake everyone google it Moegatle. Heaps of people attempting it and a few people backflipping on it cause yes it is that steep. Plenty of other videos for you to reference. Would i do it? No way....
I've studied this video carefully using background terrain, trees, the girl etc to check for the actual steepness of the slope and while the camera man may have slightly tilted the camera (probably without realizing) it is minimal and can confirm this is one hell of a slope! Not a fake. I offroad all the time in the military with a truck utility medium or TUM 110 (defender 110 with some modifications) n I've been down some slopes like this n I tell, I had my arse puckered all the way down.
have checked and yes i stand corrected, do alot of 4x4ing here in australia and friends always tilt the angle to make it that little bit more extreme. Good day to you sir. . . anybody want a peanut
Brilliant. And real, may I add. Everyone here who thinks this is an optical illusion or trickery, you're all wrong. Philosophise all you like about the laws of physics etc.. this is real. The TDV8 has more than enough torque and the Land Rover Terrain Control system has the smarts to keep traction with descent tyres. The rock wall must also not be covered in loose material which it obviously isn't here. The only mistake I found here was driver error in the usage of brakes on the descent.
I myself do not own a Landrover, but have seen what they can do when being tested at the factory where they are built in Solihull, England, and I find it hard to believe what these vehicles can do even now, buts thats why they are the best 4x4 by far
For those sceptics, and those who apparently have no idea of the capabilities of a decent 4x4, this is very possible. I own a Land Rover and have been up and down stuff steeper than the recommended 45 degrees, don't get me wrong it's bloody scary but fantastic!
I do appreciate the Range Rover, however this video does have some distorted camera angles. This is a very famous climb, and never have I seen this angle before. Check out the other accents on you tube. Either way, props to the driver and the rig.
Not a lot of cars can go such a steep incline. I had little doubt that a RR can tackle that climb. A RRS doing the same was unexpected. And even if your car is capable of such a climb you need to have balls of steel; I know I can't do it. I'd be shitting bricks just seeing my windshield full of sky...
That's steeper than 45 degrees. But I've noticed there are quite a few videos of this hill on youtube, with various vehicles doing it. It really is steep!
This is why Land Rover are THE greatest 4wd in the world ... I've been a believer since year dot. Go watch videos of the Camel Trophy and see how amazing these vehicles are.
Hi - where possible I would say get the 04 year onwards as that's when the Disco 3 came out. An all new design with improvements were made to quality and durability with electronic off-roading aids designed to help get the car further than others and out of even the deepest ruts.
THAT WAS INCREDIBLE!! BOTH THIS DRIVER AND THE MACHINE HAS THE CAPABILITY ! .. but as far as i know a subaru forester could do this too.. i menstion forester due to some serious reasons. if doubt it search about its true all wheel drive capabilites on youtube. oh yea but we need a driver who has balls like this to drive it anyway :)
if you are looking for more tires sizes I have just purchased a set of Cooper Discovrer 255/55/18 m/s. really aggresive for the size, soft compound for mud and rocks/snow, I dont think they will have a long street life, im hoping for 2 yrs, paid $800 for 4. I put them on my 2003 Disco, cant wait for spring thaw. Thought I would throw that at ya as a Rover lover its been tough to find a set of tires without lifting or suspension mods. Again Great vid, East Coast Canada
it's called tilting the camera to the side to make it look steeper. Still it is impressive but not as impressive as it may seem. Take note of the trees that don't seem to grow straight up.
I didn't know all these people suddenly became video analysts and come on CZcams to tell everyone what's real and fake. This on the other hand is real. When it's going up the hill you can see the tires slightly slipping and the sound that they slip a little. And going down the same thing, the Downhill Assist is making sure none of the wheels lock up, but since it's such a huge incline, they still lock a little. Low range, traction control, throttle control make this possible.
@thierryroucourt This video is 100% real, its a rock face in South Africa, I've been there. Quite a few cars can do this, there's a few other videos of them on youtube, including the toyota prado. The camera doesnt do this rock justice either, it is actually mind blowing to see what these cars can actually do when they have that much traction.
Wow, What is the suspension doing to to make the car grip to the 70 degree gradient when the car is stationary, that's pretty amazing technology! I bet a handbrake wouldn't even hold it at those angles! Impressive gradient but also camera operator is doing a less impressive job keeping the camera level!
Bella prova buono il sistema di controllo della trazione e un ottimo suolo con molto grip..anche se io preferisco piu i defender e lo stesso questo mostra la durezza dei Land..
in theory but if one of the weel slip too much before the tc kicks in its very possible to go sliding backsward, the superchager would increace though chances.
Do'nt forget turning all the trees in the background, too! ;)
Nice Terrain-Response-System
LMAO.. trees don't grow like that on a gradient
Best 4x4xFar :) - proud owner of a 2009 Range Rover Sport Supercharged

Find new paths!!
@markssite trees always point straight up so if look trees angle opposed the truck its clear the range rover is beast and it does work.
Attempting to use the HDC on a descent like that would cause a massive accident! I find it actually works better in reverse, when the car can no longer climb something as reverse gear is lower. They really are fantasticly able cars! Im still a big P38 fan myself but really fancy a TDV8.
Yo pensé también bajarla en reversa no estoy mal yeaaaa
DAAAMMMMMMNNNNNN Thats almost straight up and it does it with out problem not many people use range rover sports like that....respect big time
love the way the trees & grass are all leaning to the right. Certainly gives the effect of the hill being steeper than it actually is. Even our much loved Rangy's can't defy physics..
Thanks for that. You learn something new everyday. We get limited versions of most European cars in OZ. Magic the way it climbs that hill.
How can you say this is fake? Have you been there? Obviously you havent. I went to Africa last year with some friends. We started north and traveled south. I admit that I love this car , but the driver is way above it ..
Very good driver
wish him all the best :)
i got a limited edition land rover 3 gs. only 250 ever made.

Extra ordinary Mind-blowing ❤️❤️❤️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
fantastic !!!!!!!!!!! amazing driving mate ...
WE done all that at Land Rovers Solihull Plant , The Rovers didnt even break into a sweat
this driver is a high class!
just the best !!! no one is better than RR sport
Whatever 4x4 you own you have to admit that this is pretty good!!
This is friggin nuts...im pretty sure it was all for real...man i would never do all this insanity if i had a RR sport. But i guess the deflated tires really did the trick! :)
I think the most surprising thing is that they still retained oil pressure. That's a very, very sharp angle, and I'd think that all the oil would have gone to the front of the sump when they were descending!
they designed an oil system with extreme angles in mind.
If that's not a camera trick, then I am impressed. Not that I think Range Rovers are the only trucks that could do that, but the driver obviously has some skill (and balls too!)
"spidercar spidercar does whatever a spider can..." amazing.
Amazing!! 1:22 onwards is pure driving skill...well done mate :)
bats*it nutty! Nice to see someone doing this with proper tyres for once!
i have the highest respect for RR
Oh shit this is so tense!!! But what a driver yes..even the children are scared!
Awesome.
First I think the camera was tilted, but it seems like it wasn't.
Great Range Rover!
dat car n da driver sure has serious skills ,,,,,to drive n to get driven ,,lol awesum dude
Thats why I love Range Rover.
damn!! thats serious grip from those tires. and one brave driver.. lol.. brilliant.. just wish it wasnt so expensive =(
impressive... no mercedes, jeep, toyota or any other brand that has an suv with offroad capabilities cant beat a range rover offroad.... and its also very luxurious and has good performance.
wow thats insanity, and obviously not fake. What a machine
GRANDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not fake everyone google it Moegatle. Heaps of people attempting it and a few people backflipping on it cause yes it is that steep. Plenty of other videos for you to reference. Would i do it? No way....
Simply The Best
not a fan of Range Rovers but that is damn impressive! Great video!
Land rovers hill decent control plays a major part when seeing this range rover travelling back down the hill.
I've studied this video carefully using background terrain, trees, the girl etc to check for the actual steepness of the slope and while the camera man may have slightly tilted the camera (probably without realizing) it is minimal and can confirm this is one hell of a slope! Holy Cow!!!! that is the most impressive thing i've ever seen a vehicle do!!!
Just Amazing... Bye bye... I'm off to buy one... : P
amazing!

best engineers in the world, english class!
damn impressive!!! spidercar lol. I thought it would slide on the way down but it almost didn't.
that guy h balls of steel!
that was absolutely crazy. wow
I do appreciate the Range Rover, however this video does have some distorted camera angles. This is a very famous climb, and never have I seen this angle before. Check out the other accents on you tube. Either way, props to the driver and the rig.

thats crazy..the way down was hill decent control for sure

AMAZING
@Zeemisch It does look like that, but all the trees are still growing vertically.. pretty damn impressive...
THIS IS INSANE!
That's pretty awesome.
Hi - where possible I would say get the 04 year onwards as that's when the Disco 3 came out. An all new design with improvements were made to quality and durability with electronic off-roading aids designed to help get the car further than others and out of even the deepest ruts.
I did this last week - crazy scary. Known as "Koos se Klip".
Wow that's crazy top trucks/suv to buy is the land rover and the nissan terra x off road
o so there must be some magical force that lifts the back suspension up
wow ur great man
This was the most crazy I have ever seen
incredibile!!!!!!!!!!!
Impressive!!!!!

i am thinking of buying one , do you find its pace and acceleration on road adequate ?
it's called tilting the camera to the side to make it look steeper. Still it is impressive but not as impressive as it may seem. Take note of the trees that don't seem to grow straight up.
it looks like its gonna flip over but yes it's amazing how a vehicle could literally climb a wall!
wow that was so impressive
I didn't know all these people suddenly became video analysts and come on CZcams to tell everyone what's real and fake. This on the other hand is real. Low range, traction control, throttle control make this possible.
That one is the best engine for RR IMO
good tires and a goood car
Great video - it looks like the front left tire is destroyed and flat at 1:53 and 1:58/9. Was it cut perhaps as it slid down the rock face?
superb
standing ovation!!!!
I think you have to tilt the phone about 15 degrees to cancel out the camera tilt, but even so....quite something.
I ate my words! I was saying to my mate "Come watch this 'burb flip his town car!"
Very nice!
Woaah, That`s crazy O_O
@thierryroucourt This video is 100% real, its a rock face in South Africa, I've been there. Quite a few cars can do this, there's a few other videos of them on youtube, including the toyota prado. I LOVE THIS CAR
That was ballsy.
its the tdv8 version(diesel v8)but there is allso a superchaged and non-superchaged 4.2l v8 version as well
Great driving! Stock tires or other? Tire pressure??
Wow, What is the suspension doing to to make the car grip to the 70 degree gradient when the car is stationary, that's pretty amazing technology! I bet a handbrake wouldn't even hold it at those angles! Impressive gradient but also camera operator is doing a less impressive job keeping the camera level!
amazing
Bella prova buono il sistema di controllo della trazione e un ottimo suolo con molto grip..anche se io preferisco piu i defender e lo stesso questo mostra la durezza dei Land..
Yeah... best of both worlds, diesel economy but the power and noise of the petrol
Numero uno
i see trees standing straight up and also look at the suspension pitch, its not fake. torquey low end diesel with low gearing can do this
in theory but if one of the weel slip too much before the tc kicks in its very possible to go sliding backsward, the superchager would increace though chances.
Damn, i knew normal Landie's are capable of climbing like that, but the "sports" version? I never knew! Love Land Rovers :-)
Land Rover is the King of 4x4 !!!!
Very brave.. Respect guys..
What a fucking driver....this needs confidence not only the car features
that's sick.
Im going to try that with my rr. Dont know if there are same results with supercharged though.
I allready have the 2013 Modelyear. But the normal RangeRover. And this is not fake.
translating: holy shit!!!!!!! crazy dude!!! and this Range Rover has an extraordinarily strange!!!
