      I've been waiting for this video, your baritones (pun intended) are absolutely outstanding. And I say this because this is an area that people have trouble with in big name studios (Carpenter, early Meshuggah etc). So you've clearly done your homework here and I'm glad you've shared with us. Thanks man.

    I'd love to see you dial in the stock cabs sometime, just to see the kind of results you can get. I personally like both stock cabs and IRs. I do try to use stock as much as possible, though. I get lost in the OCEAN of IRs I have and end up frustrated more than anything. Eventually none of them sound good and after switching through them all, I don't even know what sound I was going for anymore.

    Still using the presets from one of your older videos in my HX Stomp and I could not be happier. Teaming up with you and Ownhammer/York Audio and including some of those IRs and presets in the helix family of devices would be an inexpensive and absolutely killer move from Line6. No idea why they are still not doing that.

    • @Mindartcreativity
      @Mindartcreativity Před 2 lety

      I guess it would mean additional licensing and production costs for their products which will result in raising the selling price and this would mean lower competion power. I do agree though, having IRs from Ownhammer included would make the product so much mire usable. Everyone I know who owns a Helix uses external IRs (bought or free). I have the HX Stomp and have immediately bought OH IRs.

    Woah this is it
    I've got your principle to keep everything good from beginning (the guitar, string, interface) until the end of chain (the IRs) and I think simplicity is your strong point here
    And that detailed explanation of what parameter, to how its affect the tones that we want to achieved, thats gold man!
    You're really good at explaining things, and if I'm not wrong you are Dutchman right, your english are excellent
    Lesson learned and its time to tweaking
    Thank you for doing this Jon!

    I don't have any extended range guitars, but Alex Price recently figured out how to set up a couple Blocks in the HX Stomp so that they act like a Boss OC-5. That allows it to produce "octave down" notes isolated to the lower strings based on frequency. It will be interesting to hear if it can emmulate extended range heavy guitar tones without the need for extra low strings. Thanks
