The food looks fantastic
The steak looks great, but that is the definition of rare. Medium rare would have more pink transition between the crust and centre.
The person would of requested rare as that is how it works at steakhouse, they cook to your preference

They do tell you in house to cut in and check if you like the cook. I haven’t seen what has happened yet the beginning of this video was just playing on my recommendations I go to roadhouse all the time.
That looks absolutely raw and like it was frozen as f. Got the medium rare crust but that center is absolutely raw
there's no such thing as a right or wrong way to eat a steak, how you enjoy it is how you enjoy it and nobody can dictate otherwise. however, you claim this was ordered medium rare and that's most definitely a rare cook.

More in the Medium Rare. Rare is when there is hardly any Crusting outside, just lightly seared and really red inside.
