The lad talking about empathy nailed it. Emotional intelligence summarised.
And he's right that they don't put stock in angry or emotional people. They see it as weak or something. Would love to see public question time formalised in our government structure,
We need a citizens democracy but it feels like we have a glorified modern version of nobility, our votes don't really mean much sadly. They don't represent us.
@@TheDeahgib not sure about being viewed as weak, I think it's because being able to regulate your emotions properly is a sign that you're dealing with someone rational.
That chap towards the end taking about empathy - nailed it 💯👏👏👏
Nailed it on what grounds. Look in the mirror, you are just as bad as that man.
Saints Above. Pray for us.
Does genuinely upset me how people don't hold them accountable for their actions. it blows my mind that they've gifted their friends billions and now it time to punish us with "austerity measures" we had them for 11 years and they more then doubled national debt!
It’s up to all of us now - listen to everyone … letting them wipe us out…it’s not up to everyone else it up to you and you and you..
Stop moaning and stay peaceful smile and do not comply because this is planned to wipe us out..
Me to this is all down to the F%&K TORIES!!!!🤬
Considering the state of Britain at the moment with its multiple crises in the NHS, economy and cost of living. Asking Sunak to look after the economy is akin to asking Fred and Rosemary West to babysit your kids...
Use your vote. Spread the message.
There is no money tree, remember that.
The bloke mentioning empathy, I like him.
Not sure if you saw it, but he is also in the previous video and was just as spot on. Voice of Reason! He would be the kind of politician I would want 🤩. Alas, there is so much wrong with the system it puts people like him off, which is a huge shame.
Empathy, it’s a very important word and one that is rarely given the importance that it deserves.
It’s also the emotional building block that generally defines a psychopath or a sociopath by its lack of presence in there make
up.
And unfortunately we are seeing more and more of these people in positions of power.
Empathy is what makes you a descent human being.
A Tory government of *"dishonesty, recklessness and irresponsibility at every level"* has caused this cost of living crisis.
Get them out!
Excellent comment
And replace with whom may I ask? The system is broken and no political white knight is going to rescue you. Two sides of the same coin, two cheeks of the same arse my friend.
Spot on. But don't forget the greed and corruption which epitomises the Tory mindset. As if that wasn't bad enough, they are totally inept as well. Added to which they are nasty bullies. And that's just their good points...
Absolutely correct!
Labour won't be any better. The whole system is rigged.
If you want to know anything about everything just ask a Geordie. No gloss no BS no biases just honest north eastern reason and truth.
Geordies have a finger on the pulse, even if it's just to stop the bleeding. 😂😂
Finger on the pulse, even if it's just to stop the bleeding. I'm gonna find a reason to use that phrase this week.
Brian, I agree.
they also walk across water...so i've been told....by other "geordies".....
And a brilliant football team to booth!!!!!!

@@juliet7703 There's time yet, Julie.
Typical evil 😈 tories Well done Newcastle for your excellent opinions very truthful
Well done Geordies. Intelligent points of views.
If you could understand them.
mackems, smoggies, southerners.... not many geordies in this video
Such from one dimensional views such BS unfortunately I didn’t see one intelligent view in any of it all it was was a rant and rant about just being given handouts as usual it’s tough for all of us out there we are all struggling but we all have to work hard and at the end of the day it will come to an end. John F Kennedy said don’t ask what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country.

Good for the Geordies , from a Yorkshire man 👍
Boot the Tories OUT!

Then more austerity "to claw it back".
Lying, thieving bastard's are these Tory pigs.
No taxation without representation
Thats why the americans started grabbing their guns wasn't it...
Say we still got them longbows from the good ol days?
In order to have empathy you need to have experienced the agony.
Rishi has never experienced any hardship.
Well those Geordies pretty much covered all the bases. General Election is the only way to fix this.
I absolutely love Northerns, the way the have no filter and not dull and stupid like us in the South
And a dsrn sight more pleasant to. Everyone in the south is miserable as sin.
Tories genuinely haven't got a clue, they have run out of ideas (steam) 😶 we need a election now
Great coments from the Gordie people they got the measure of sunik and his criminal gang
‘Sunak’ means the listener, but will he listen? Will he live up to his name?
No he wont
People need to stand together and demand a GE vote our own P M in not a puppet.
It's time for a true alternative style of governance in this country. Labour are not that. We need to form a new party that is truly representative of the majority. This increasingly medieval style plutocracy has failed us for far too long.
There's absolutely no point in a new party while we still have First Past the Post. Step 1: elect a not-Tory coalition; Step 2: introduce Proportional Representation (and not that AV rubbish); Step 3: *now* you can diversify your parties.
Just an idea about restructuring benefits and taxes.
Have read multiple articles that crunched the numbers and stated that you could reconstitute the existing welfare budget (with the exception of incapacity benefits, for obvious reasons) to that of implementing a basic income of £250 a week for everyone from age 18 to retirement.
And introduce a third tax bracket as follows.
Basic Income
£250 pcw / £13,000 pa
Income upto £25,000 pa = 20% Tax
Income upto £50,000 pa = 40% Tax
Income upto £100,000 pa = 60% Tax
Thoughts please everyone.
And please don’t bother with the whole “if you give money to people for free they’ll never go out and get a job” argument. Countries that have trialed BI have found the exact opposite.
With the non means tested safety net it offers, people are alleviated of much anxiety and depression derived from financial disparity and are empowered to get a job on their terms. Essentially not working excessive hours that’ll burn them out and also make them depressed.
Because let’s face it, £13,000 is survivable. But who wants to survive. People want to LIVE life. And not live to work.
It would work but it’s too close to socialism so the London media would pull it apart as they want a skint scared workforce to exploit for their own personal gain.
If you mean 'income over' for your brackets, then yes. 40% tax on £25 - 50k would be quite a bite. Also, there would be £billions of tax available if we only forced companies like Amazon & Starbucks to actually pay the taxes on their UK sales, instead of using legal but morally dubious loopholes to pay almost nothing.
They don't want a society, they want poverty. The tax system in place currently hits to many middle earners and creates less equality and creates essentially: dead poor, surviving poor, keeping it together, doing alright, rich. We need a more fitting tax scale and we need welfare that does what it's meant to do. It's a wasteful, useless and beurocratic monster presently that delivers very little.
@@tanyagibbs1618 unfortunately the city of London plays a major part in the global financial system of making taxable money disappear.
The Russian oligarchs used London to launder their money from taking over state industry’s & taking the wealth out of them.
@@tanyagibbs1618 Yup. But yes Corporation Tax and tax loopholes are a whole other matter that needs tackling urgently.
After their extensive investigating, the ICIJ and the Tax Justice Network concluded, there is an estimated cumulative £27 trillion in off shore tax havens.
If that money was freed up it’d solve so many problems.
As Richard Flanagan said, “Money is like shit. Pile it up and it stinks. Spread it around and things will grow.”
And while we’re at it, the formation of a publicly owned industrial ‘evolution’ would do wonders. Developing green technologies that we can ship globally and truly bolster our economy. Instead of being whores to foreign companies that pay our people the ‘bare’ minimum legal wage.
I mean foreign companies should either get ‘marginal’ tax breaks for creating jobs and then pay higher wages. Or vice versa. Having both isn’t even imaginably sustainable.
Plus, when adjusting for inflation, to be equal to the cost of living in the 1960s (and accounting for global population growth) the national minimum wage in 2021 should have actually been £21.50 per hour. Imagine that with 2021’s cost of living.
But if anyones going to go by the Consumer Price Index’s most recent report on inflation of 10.1% in 2022, that means the National Minimum Wage should now be £23.60.
But no. It’s £9.50. That’s £14.10 an hour they’re stealing from us and making obscenely excessive profits. Windfall tax anyone?
Sorry bit of a tangent there. You spend so much time reading about this stuff it starts to boil over.
All so true! Time for "other' forms of civil action!
Going to work and actually doing something ?

Well said all these folks…spot on every one.
"Please dear God, have some empathy."
True power is built and reliant on empathy (compassion) and wisdom (critical thinking). Without compassion, one's power is apathetic and cruel. Without wisdom, one's power is irrational and illogical. Without both, one's power is truly fragile, disillusioned, and falsely misguided. They do themselves no favour because as big as their egos and apathy is, it will only lead to their own downfall - eventually.

Sliding tax scale increasing to 90% at 800k per year, luxury car tax, increase airport tax, gst on electrical goods, non-doms, tax loop holes, means test government pension, large pensions taxed further, trusts (e.g. duke of westminister) tax avoidance, inheritance tax, make sure medical doctors dont do side hussles etc etc - is it really difficult to pull in more cash and improve productivity?
You must be one of lifes failures who is jealous of anyone remotely successful. Work your arse off you want a share of the good life.
@D C He sounds like a total loser, green with envy of anyone remotely successful.
@@jjefferyworboys8138 So i guess you want a divided society, you want extremes of wealth, you want an underclass , you want social decay. Be prepared for increased crime, assaults, burgalry, theft, drug use, mass unemplyment. You want this? You come across as a person who only cares about themselves. Me, Myself and I. Please care for all.
So universities will disappear because the highly skilled individuals can earn massively more in other countries. Your highly skilled workforce (engineers, doctor etc.) will follow and then proceed to work elsewhere as they take home more. New companies won't start up in the UK as the workforce wouldn't be skilled and the owners could profit if they worked abroad.
£1 million salary in many countries around the world results in a take home in the region of £400,000 to £600,000. The idea being proposed would result in £100,000. While yes the government has more to use, you cannot deny the fact you would move yourself and business to another country if you could earn an extra house every year with the extra £300,000 to £500,000 a year
So why isn't that already happening literally anywhere where in the world?
For a few years now I've felt disillusioned with the Northeast. I'm from the region but yet see a complete abandonment of working class ideals and good morals. The ownership of NUFC, Brexit and some areas voting Tory has really hurt my heart. The region used to do great things, but now it a shell of itself, becoming nothing of moral goodness. This video has shown positivity, but god I fear for the area.
Newcastle is still hanging on there are enough people left in the city clued up about what’s going on it’s just the Tory’s are with holding money from it as it keeps voting against them, we voted remain as well, peoples morals are still there & people help each other it’s just hard times again in the city with all the social programs cut to help the less well off parts of the city.
Its Sunderland & Co.Durham that you have to worry about, I grew up from 12 in consett until 19 when I went to uni when we still had grants, Consett with its history voted Tory & Brexit, it’s forgot it’s own history & the Brian drain from Co.Durham & Sunderland leave you with a petty anti intellectual population in parts.
The Labour Party has let the Northeast down ( the factionalism, opposing their own leader to lose general elections and so on)but most of us know the Tory’s are always worse.
Younger alternative people from the Northeast have always came to Newcastle & mixed with the locals plus students from the uni’s it gives the city a vibrant mix of people.
It’s hard times up here but the people are still some of best in England spoken as an exiled Yorkshireman whose family had to leave after the 1984 strike.
I'm from middlesbrough. The common person still blames immigrants and thinks Brexit was a good idea. This town has been utterly decimated under Tory rule and they refuse to see it.
@@darthsidious1959 Newcastle is very different to Boro
My friends from Boro all left there & live in Newcastle or further afield
A lot people from the Northeast as you will know leave for work to London or overseas or move to North of the Tyne if they want to stay local, it has led to most of the music & art in the North east being Newcastle.
Consett has gone the same way a lot of young people don’t vote & arn’t even educated in a class conscious way anymore, the Tory’s cut educational grants for young people & increased university tuition fees so younger working class people aren’t getting access education which suits them as it discourages critical thinking add poverty to that mix & things are pretty toxic in Co.Durham, Sunderland & Boro in a way they arn’t in Newcastle.
@@darthsidious1959 yes good point. I can't understand that. They will still vote Tories and then wonder why things have not improved
@@juliet7703 Because they got Brexit done. Look at the Northern vote in the 2019 European elections. They voted Brexit Party, not even Tories. It's clear that the issue of Brexit was very important for them and they support Brexit all the way.

A major issue we have with politics now is that it is full of career politicians who have had very little exposure to legitimate, hard work. It's hard to empathise with people whos shoes you have never walked in or are unlikely to ever walk in. Party choice is now moot, you will get the same circus with different clowns.

I just think that whoever was at the helm of this current Conservative government is basically on a sticky wicket and that no matter what Sunak opts to do it's probably time for a change and Starmer appears to have a pretty united shadow cabinet and he seems to listen.

High time the ultra rich support the working class at times of need with more money to fight the cost of living crisis. What is missing is that they don't have the hearts to do it for the working class in the UK I pray to god that they do realise this soon.

They know what they are doing , but not doing it for the good !
I find it funny that so many people are complaining about the Tories yet they're the party that the British people voted for and why oh yeah "let's get Brexit done" 🙄 Also I wonder how many of these people they asked actually voted in the last election or voted for Boris Johnson just because they wanted Brexit to happen.
This is true. Most people voted Brexit after being told a pack of lies, especially from Johnson, whose ONLY aim was to become PM.
They voted Tory because Labour couldn’t get their act together and are clueless. I believe the Reform party would provide a better opposition!
