True story: I say "chimi-chuck it in the bin" in my head every time I see chimichangas on a menu since this episode aired. Gordon Ramsay changes lives in more ways than he knows lol.
One of my favorite sayings when I'm cooking something that's been frozen at home is "fresh frozen😂"

You see confidence? I see insecurity, if it makes you feel bad it’s because “they *made* me feel bad”, it’s classic I know you are but what am I projection, that self centered reaction where “they’re doing something that draws my attention” becomes “they’re doing it TO draw my attention”, like how when a bigot encounteres someone they don’t like it becomes a *them* problem for being noticable, shifting all the blame because the critique to their competency and having to actually own up and change is too much for them to handle.
It’s such a massive source of shame that it was pointed out, that it *must* have been done to personally make them feel shame right, any justification comes after the fact to explain why they feel bad, the safe answer is that they did everything right which must mean someone else did something wrong (conveniently removing any reason for introspection or taking accountability).
It’s the response of someone with no self confidence, “I meant to do everything right therefore anything wrong is not my fault!” belies massive insecurity, any critique gets dismissed because self reflection is too scary to handle, far far from what a confident person would do

There’s a small chain called Javier’s and the small restaurant we go to is basically run by Latin middle aged women/grandmothers. My younger sister learned Spanish while in elementary school and up, so when they see her they just melt because she likes to talk to them. I’m so proud, and awkward cuz then I’m like “gracias!” And it’s all I can say!😂😅 They make the best damn Mexican food, just big plates of deliciousness.😋

Have these people ever watched one of Chef Ramsay's shows? Did they expect to get compliments and new customers with a filthy kitchen and spoiled food? These people are clueless.
Because the producers tell them to act this way. Who tf would watch this show if the owners all just nodded their head in agreement? It's reality TV. They have him go in, revamp the place with new equipment and other things, so when they sell it a few months down the road, the owners get a larger payout to help them cover the debts.
He is always so surprised to get frozen ravioli...literally every time he orders ravioli it's frozen.
I think he hopes one of them would be different

It was like burnt leather on the bottom, and mushy and oily on the top. Flavor was good though, pretty good for a TV dinner 😆. I just had to try it, I also tried his Lasagna, and mushroom risotto. The risotto was disgusting 1/10, never again.

Nothing was more embarrassing than the episode with the Indian restaurant in NYC that was infested with rats and roaches, that poor man standing there going “the whole place is filled with rats!” or whatever he said, I felt mortified for his ass. The basement area of that place was unbelievable. I’ve never seen roaches like that in my life
omg yeah and that scene where he pulled the one thing off the freezer or whatever and all the roachers were just running around.

Hello chef. I really enjoy watching you in action in the kitchen and on the camera. I worked in kitchens for years sometimes in kitchens that were well to do and sometimes as short order at the corner hole in the wall.

Gordon understands well the patience and palettes of different cultures. He knows you have to go simpler for Americans to get it to the table in 15 minutes. You can see him adapting his standards between the British and American versions.

I learned a lot about kitchens and life in both locations. In your well to do location's it opened me up to new foods, techniques, people, and proper etiquette. that I would not have experienced at the corner pub. On the other side is short order with its own skill and language . For example, a 21 is 2 eggs on one plate. A 93 is 9 eggs on 3 plates.

As a short order, I learned the power of one and how to slow things down and focus. When you are dealing with numbers and you are being pulled in all directions. Breath and focus on one at a time. That doesn't mean you don't step back every one's and a while and look at the whole picture. Of course you do. You look at the whole picture, so when you focus on one, you are not setting up your own pitfalls later down in your row of tickets.
