Charlotte! Dogs DEFINITELY can be petty. Our cat once ate some of our dog's food. Dog growled and reclaimed his bowl. Later that evening, we gave our cat a banana, a favorite treat of his. The dog growled at the cat, took the banana and ate it. The petty part? Our dog HATED bananas and literally gagged and chocked the entire time he was eating it. But he committed and ate that whole thing while staring our cat down 🤣

The ice cream one is pretty clever! I think one of the funniest food revenge stories I've seen is a woman whose coffee creamer kept going missing at work. She was the one buying it and put her name & notes on it, but it'd still be gone. She brought in a new bottle, only she replaced it with her breastmilk, and sure enough it was gone. She left another note saying hope you enjoyed, telling them what it was! 😂

My first dog, a little West Highland Terrier (RIP Dacy), loved playing with a little squeak bone. She especially loved playing fetch. However, there were rules. She would bring it back three time, no more, then you had to give her a treat. My cousin forgot the rules, and didn't get her treat. This sweet little dog literally stared at him, waiting for her dang treat, but the jerk didn't get her one! she then ignored his existence for three days. I finally took pity on him, handed him a treat, and told him to give it to her. She ran right up, ate the little treat, then brought him her squeak bone to throw for her. He never forgot again. 🍒🍒

My very best friend of 30 years told me that when he fell out with his landlord and was evicted, he exacted his revenge by filling up the hollow curtain rods with fresh shrimp.
Apparently, after a few days in summer weather the room stank so horrifically, that they stripped the entire room of everything, including the carpeting. The room could not be rented to anyone, and the fishy, rotting stench became so bad that it could even be detected by the other room mates upon opening the front door of the property.
Finally, after 6 weeks of panic and horror, the decayed shrimp where discovered in the curtain pole as it started dripping greenish juices.
    It sounds disgusting. 🍒

This is an old internet story from a divorced couple. The wife didn’t get the house in the divorce so she shrimped all the curtain rods and some of the air ducts. Your friend stole the idea from this couple. I purchased frozen shrimp and forgot to bring them in. Hot summer days had those shrimp flunking out in a couple of days. So gross to clean up. Only thing worse is sour milk puke.

    • @karendobias555

Yes this story has been around for decades. The actual story says they took the curtain rods with them.when they moved and still.had the problem. It's the same as the story about the person that.honked behind someone at McDonald's and then they paid for the food and when they got to the window they took both packages of food as they paid for it and the person who honked had to go back around. It's the urban legends of petty.

Someone was eating his lunches so he made a sandwich with every hot pepper and spice on the planet (that's a Native American for you). While working a guy ran out of the lunch room like fire was gonna come out of butt and my poppop got up real close at the water fountain and told him "now you know what happens when you steal lunches". Never happened again.

Your mom's first mistake was underestimating the dog. I absolutely love mini schnauzers, and one of the first things you learn is to not mess with them. They can be unbelievably cute, but unbelievably petty. 😂
Quick story: my family took our schnauzer to obedience school, and during the "stand" command segment, my dog had other plans. Normally, she'd be fine and pick things up quickly, but not at that moment. She just didn't want to stand. So the teacher came over to help us out, and tried to gently step on the tail as a code to get her little butt up. What did my dog do? Scoot away and sit right back down. 🤣 The same thing happened four times; she was clearly making a point that she was the leader here, not us humans. The instructor eventually just gave the leash back to my mom and accepted her defeat.

Several years ago, my husband and I went to see "Gone Girl" for a second time. It was a matinee and the theater was not crowded at all, so it was even easier to hear the people two rows behind us who would NOT SHUT UP no matter how much we tried to "nicely" shush them. As the movie neared the end, I was so annoyed that I got up, climbed over the seats to the row right in front of them (no one there) and promptly told them the end of the movie.

Well, these kids were laughing and talking rather loudly during the previews and quite annoying. Two rows in front of me were 2 very big, bearded, leather wearing vest(motorcycle members(?). After approximately 10 minutes of this noise these guys yelled out..."I wish you mother***kers would shut the Fuck up". Never. Heard. From. Them, the rest of the movie. I saw a comment here about a horse, that reminded me of my horse. We had planted a large patch of sunflowers. I put a short fence around it to keep the ducks and geese out, never thinking that the horse would be interested. Max kept getting in there, so once, I put him in the back pasture as a time out. He hated being alone. As soon as I let him back in (only 20 or 30 minutes later), he went directly to the sunflower patch and started eating.
It doesn't end there. Every morning, when I would do the chores taking care of all the animals, I noticed that if I didn't say hi to him first, and give him a treat; off to the sunflowers he would go. If he got the attention first, he was fine.

This took place back in the 80's when smoking was still allowed indoors. Mom worked at a restaurant and someone was stealing her cigarettes, so she took revenge by putting explosives in each of the cigarettes. One day her boss was sitting at the table, leaning back in his chair, the cigarette blew up in his face, he fell back and the cig left shredded paper and Tabaco in his beard. I've never seen my mom laugh so hard when she told this story. It never got old. Sweet revenge is so much fun.

I had a dog who would sigh and put turn his head away dramatically whenever I was frustrated, he also dramatically threw his water dish at my feet from his mouth when I was watching a movie and couldn't figure out what he was wanting ( I didn't get up when he was going to the kitchen and back to me over and over). When she said "Do you think animals can be petty?" I was suddenly reminded of a cat we had at the end of high school/early University. She would get mad at my mom for locking her outside, and in retaliation she would poop on my mom's bed. There was one time it happened overnight, and that was the day the cat crawled under all seven layers of my mom's bedding to poop in her sheets, right where my mom would stick her feet in it when she went to sleep. Animals can 100% be petty.

My mom told me this story a few weeks ago. Years ago, when the internet was first emerging, my mom's close friend was living with a man and had been for many years. The relationship seemed solid. Well, he was more tech savvy then her and got involved with internet chats and forums, later meeting another woman and cheating on my mom's friend. My mom's friend eventually figured this out and left him, moving out of the home they shared. However; first she went to a photo printing place in town and printed hundreds upon hundreds of passport-sized photos of herself making various faces (tongue sticking out etc.) and proceeded to go around the house hiding them anywhere she could. Behind mirrors, jacket/suit pockets, inside books, magazines, VHS tapes, taped inside drawers etc. The list goes on. Anywhere she could hide on she did. Made my mom think to tell me the story recently because they were hanging out and she told my mom the story saying, "You know, I bet that a**h*le is still finding me everywhere to this day!" She's a really polite, kind, shy woman so when my mom told me I laughed over it for way longer then I should have.

When my husband and I were first married he got used to me doing everything around the house - until I found a job! He still wouldn't do anything even though he was unemployed at the time and doing a 4 hr/day training course. I was working 8-10hr/day and fighting traffic for 30 minutes to get home, where I would be greeted with a "Hey, what's for dinner?".
I went on strike. I did MY laundry, washed MY dishes, and picked up MY stuff. He finally noticed after 2 weeks. He thought he would get me moving to clean the house when he decided to throw a house party. He asked if I was going to clean up as it got close to party time. I told him none of the stuff was mine so I saw no reason for me to clean it. He waited a little while then asked me if I really wanted people to see the house like this. I said they were HIS friends so I didn't care. If they didn't like how you lived they could leave.
He FINALLY caught a clue and started cleaning. I waited an hour then silently started helping.
We had a very long discussion on the division of household chores the next day.

Why did I help because it was they way he had been brought up he was not being lazy it was how his Mom trained him once the mild was broken and he started cleaning I knew then he would keep it up from then on, and that’s why I helped him finish cleaning up his mess. Hmmm, I hadn't seen any socks or underwear in the hamper I told him, and all the laundry was done. It turned out that he had been tossing his dirty laundry in the bottom of the closet - just like he did when he lived with his mum.
I told him he had 3 choices; 1. he could do a load or two of laundry himself, or 2. he could go to the store and buy some more socks and underwear to last him the week, or 3. he could make the present pair of socks and boxers last the week, because I do laundry on Saturdays. ahhhhh - I should have known. An assistant manager I worked with was a fantastic supervisor and a genuinely wonderful and kind human being all around. Our manager at the time was also a great guy. One day, the assistant manager wore a French themed shirt with cute little French themed graphics and the phrase "Oh La La" on it. Our heinous district manager, known for anger management issues, somehow interpreted that to be a "sexual reference" and took her to task for it. He took her into the manager's office in the backroom and proceeded to scream and shout at her so loudly that he could be heard not only in the back room, but out on the sales floor, too. She eventually got sick of his $#!+ and quit. Almost the entire staff was heartbroken as she was really good at the job and a joy to work with. On her last day, I presented her with a cake, a card, and a gift. They were all French themed as a joke on what a scumbag the district manager is. The gift was a large candle holder shaped like the Eiffel Tower. The card had French themed graphics like her shirt. The cake was decorated with the French flag and the phrase, "Au Revoir Kacy!" She laughed really hard when she saw it all laid out together. Later on after she left, I filed a hostile work environment grievance against the awful district manager and cited this incident in the report as an example of his bad behavior and fortunately multiple employees heard him shouting at her and he was "found guilty" of the charge and had to "work on his anger management" for a while supposedly. It kept him out of our stores mostly for like a year, which was a nice break for the staff. Sadly, he still works there, and the company has continued to go downhill, but I'm glad to say I don't work there anymore.

Not a bad throw for an elderly woman at all.

Dandelions are useful! The leaves are used in salad; you can roast the roots for a lovely tea; and the flowers can be used to make delicious wine. They are also one of the earliest flowers to bloom in Spring and can often be the single available food source for honeybees that come out of hibernation too early. Please don't rip out your dandelions before other blossoms are open-- the bees need all the help they can get!

Dogs can be just as PETTY as people. Example: We were visiting our the kids & grandkids for Christmas--brought our dog, Romeo. Micheal's Aid dog Bandit brought his toy over to me (Romeo's Mom) to play. Romeo is a Cocker Spaniel small 25 lbs max. Bandit is a Belgian Shepard 40 lbs. When Romeo saw Bandit trying to play with his mommy, he walked over onto Bandit's bed stood over his bone and peed a flood on bone and bed. The Bed Bandit had guarded territorially since we had arrived to keep Romeo from even stepping onto. It the best example of an animal doing petty I've ever seen.

      This dog....
He walked right by my legs and suddenly decided to run. So of course I fell down and the leash slipped out of my hand.

    About petty graves:
My great-uncles had a falling-out after one cheated the other and my grandmother out of the will. (He had done that serveral times, with other relatives) While my grandmother is buried next to my grandfather at a different cemetery, both my great-uncles are buried at the same cemetery. The one who screwed them over lies next to my great-grandparents' grave, and the other in an urn in the wall. The one in the urn was the last to die. He stated in his will that he had to be placed in a spot where he hypothetically speaking could see my great-grandparents' grave, but not my other great-uncle.

    • @Pippis78
      @Pippis78 Před 2 lety +6

My granddad's mother lost her shit because my granddad was an atheist. Our family has this large grave plot but great grandmother ordered the plot to be divided in half and a *fence* to be built between them. She also testamented all of the family valuables, fortune and everything that had been treasured for several generations to my granddad's sister. In my country you actually can't do that to your children, it's illegal. But my granddad was _at least_ at the same level of petty and refused to demand his rightful share (or even take when the sister offered).
His sister never had children so the fortune and all that family history was supposed to be inherited by my mum and her brothers anyways ...If it wasn't for my greataunts dementia and some crook that scammed every last penny from their poor aunt.
I'm sad about all the family history lost with all the objects that had been kept so well (my family up the line has had some important parts in making history so it's quite the loss).

    • @Pippis78
      @Pippis78 Před 2 lety +2

Oh, have to add. Family did separate the plot with a narrow path? gap? slice of grass, but the fence was too overboard and was never made. It was like "you'll get a strip of grass and stoned edges and that'll have to be enough!"
And forgot to clarify that great grandmother and hubby were buried on the other side and my grandfather and all his kids/family were to be buried behind the fence.
The size all together is 4 graves but that other half has 6 people already because they've been buried in urns. Oh! Except they had made a mistake and buried one of my uncles (ashes) into the side with great grandmother and -father! She was a silly cow, but still it felt not right that her adamant will was not respected (or maybe my mum was pissed of because she's that petty too. "Oh you don't want to be buried next to us? Well we DON'T WANT TO either!"). The uncle probably wouldn't have wanted to be an uninvited guest like that either - or maybe he didn't give a damn.

And because she hates being left out. She wants to sit close by you. But she turns her back to you. And refuses to acknowledge you when you speak to her. Normally if you say her name she runs to you. Or if you leave the house she tweets like a wild woman (just like a dog) when she hears the key in the lock or the door opens. Cute but evil describes her to a T.

Dandelions usually grow in tightly packed soil, they prefer it! Dandelions will populate and area, loosen and aerate the soil, (ants perform the same function). This allows your lawn or garden to grow deeper roots easily establishing a better nutrient and water absorption for the plants. If you have lots of dandelions it's because your soil needs them, nature's helper!

Oh 11:55 is hitting close to home.
I did something similar to my mom and godmother. These 2 were the gaslighting and lying queens, if you ever met any.
My mother used to spite me before we get visitors and then act all sweet and me - who was a rather emotional boy - could not act all normal and my mom was able to say "how hard it was with me and how she needed support".
My godmother, was similar but loved to bring up my adoption to put me down if I ever complained about beeing treated unfairly.
Worst part of it was that many of my family members believed them, mainly because I was to distant and exhausted to set any of the lies right.
I snaped at some point and printed out their texts and e-mails and brought them to a family reunion. Placed them on the tables for everybody to see and reaped the screams and anjoed the fun dinner after.
Needless to say this was the last time I spoke with anybody from that side of the family.

I kind of did something similar. When I was growing up I started to gain weight and I would get really upset with my family, some were fatter than I was at that time, for making fun of me and calling me booga butt, a nick name my uncle made up. It would hurt my feelings so bad that I was in counseling when I moved away from home. I was talking to my counselor one day and dreading a trip home for one holiday bc of the non stop torture that I knew I was going to get. So she told me that every time someone made any kind of derogatory comment to look at my watch and "say I'm sorry I have to go", and then leave the house for a few minutes. After about the third time my mom came out and asked what I was doing, bc my bf wouldn't tell them, I told her that this will possibly be the last time I see any of them again for the rest of my life if they didn't stop teasing me about my weight, especially the ones who were fatter than me. She went inside and I followed a few minutes later and I never heard another joke about my weight, even to this day 30+ yrs later.
It may be fun to pick on ppl for whatever reason but really think about how the other person will feel. Is it worth risking your relationship with them possibly for the rest of your life. I would have left if they had done it after my mom went in a told them what I said. My mental health was and still is now more important than any relationships. It's a tough call and yes I would have been absolutely devastated if I had to cut ties with those who were doing the relentless torture of me bc of my weight. It would be like loosing your entire family in a mass tragedy, but I would have done it and gone on with my life. Your mental and physical health should be more important to you than anything else. If you are mentally unhealthy it can turn into physically unhealthy, bc your depression or whatever can make you physically ill. Physically ill bc your not eating properly or not or you even stop taking your meds or start using illegal drugs or start drinking to deal or numb the mental or physical pain. That is how being mentally unhealthy can cause you to be physically unhealthy. Take care of yourselves bc if you can't you won't be able to properly take care of others who may need you. I hope that no one has to ever cut ties with ppl they love bc those ppl won't stop making you sad. God bless everyone of you and really start to think how your relationships are affecting you and how your behavior is affecting someone else. Have a great day.

I can understand that parent doing that to the kid....after I was married,my mother stayed with us over Christmas on the spare bedroom.Being a chain smoker she often fell asleep with a cigarette and had numerous burn holes in her nightgowns, cbedside carpet etc at her house. So when she dropped one over the side of the bed and melted a plastic shopping bag into my carpet I was beside myself.I told her I had been waiting 20 years to tell her this.."I don't care what you do when you get grown and have your own house, but when you're in MY house you don't smoke in bed !"

    I AM A PETTY NEIGHBOR.
When my kids were young we moved to house in the country with a huge yard so we could have a pool and playground stuff for the kids to play on. The old grumps next door complained every time the kids played outside. They complained they were making too much noise. They even called the sheriff's department! Who had to respond because it was a dispatch call, but since the kids were in our own yard and we're only outside during the day, there was really nothing they could do about it. It was so bad (they would call to complain at least 15 times a day) we ended up moving. Before we moved out, I bought a Super Soaker water gun, filled it with nectar and sugar water and soaked the roof of their house, porch and yard.
BTW, we have lots of murder hornets in our area. 😝

@@FirstnameLastnames That is common sense. That being said, it does not give someone the right to retaliate because of pettiness, or for any other reason, by harming, that person or those people. That makes them just as bad as the person that called the police on them for no good reason. Actually, it makes them worse. The police aren’t going to show up shooting because somebody called the police for no good reason. They would not just show up shooting in any situation unless they see or hear danger that would require the use of their weapons.

Just wanted to let you know that dogs can be petty too. When I was younger early twenties we had a collie she got in my mother’s flower bed chasing a gopher and was digging in the bed. My mother scolded her and she would not eat for three days.. on the third day mother was standing by her feed bowl and Lassie (of course that was her name, my youngest brother named her) took her nose and turned the bowl and feed over on my mother’s feet 🦶 after that Lassie was fine and ate. But to answer your question
Yes dogs can be petty and get revenge. It’s one of my favorite stories I’m 65 now and still love to tell the story.

I love the one with the edited prom photos! 😄👍🏻
We did something similar for my grandmas 70th birthday. In our family we give each other photo books filled with photos and stories from your life on important birthdays(40, 50, 60 aso).
My grandma HATES my grandpa after he cheated, wanted a divorce and told her to move out after 25+ years of marriage. So we gave her a book where ALL of the photos with my grandpas face was replaced with grandmas favorite male singer. 😂 It’s really fun to look through that book. 😄
AND she looked GORGEOUS in her wedding photo, so we wanted the picture on our wall, but since she hates grandpa and we don’t like him either we removed him COMPLETELY from the picture. Just hoping he won’t come to visit and see the photo, it’s been up for four years now. 😂

Once I went on the train with my dog, and a guy was there with his dog (that was not muzzled). Both dogs bark when they see each other, and I think about if I should tell the train personal that his dog doesnt have a muzzle on (its a 15€ fine) but decide against it, as travelling with big dogs is enough of a challenge initself.
Well, its time fo rme to get off and both dogs bark again, I tell the guy to put a muzzle on the dog next time as is mandatory in these trains. He yells at me, saying that if my dog would be trained well he wouldn't need a muzzle (completely beside the point, its the train companys rules). This pissed me off like nothing else and sure enough, I saw some train staff on the way out and told them that there was a big bad dog without a muzzle on.
