Gw2 Storytime: Twilight Preparations

- The latest lore story released gives us a greater insight to Deputy Turma as well as Captain Magnus, Spurr, Slick and Sparky.
Three aetherblades all with names begining with an S in conversation. Suffice it to say my poor voice acting may make this one hard to follow :P
A while back I had a theory where Aetherblades were in fact from another dimension, parallel universe if you will. The basic facts I had the theory based was one of the personal story missions from Asuras called "Split Second". In the story you open a portal that makes steam creatures flood out and fight you. Upon the completion of the fight you meet a mysterious stranger, that is in fact "you" from parallel universe where he/she is trying to take over the world using the steam creatures.
As I said above, that wasn't theo ashford dying ^_^. It was a few others, theo died later off screen - at a controlled assasination. As this story shows, several lionguard died and our new deputy was present. None of that happened at the effigy ceremony.
Voice acting was fine dude. Once again the game's brought people from Southsun, and I have no clue who they are because I didn't pay attention to the NPCs down there. I went, got my achievements, and left. Now I'm almost kicking myself because I missed a lot that happened during that part of the story :(
Now based on the recent encounters of the Aetherblades, we get into fights with steam creatures quite often. And in recent path added to Twilight Arbor, we even have a steam creature summoning Aetherblades themselves. Even the style of a steam punk pirates is quite pointing towards the connection between the two. Then the question of clockwork invasions comes in. Where as you fight clockworks, they come out of the portals above the battlefield.
I just double checked. Theo Ashford didnt die at the effigy ceremony, the charr ambasador did. We heard about theos death happening through a mail, not with our own eyes.

LOL well yeah she is basically a mini molten dredge thingy.
I thought Ashford succumbed to the wounds he got in the initial Aetherblade trap. That electrical blast from the effigy. It killed a Charr and wounded Ashford and a few others. He later died offscreen from those injuries.

Scarlet seems more like the "Do as I say or die" kind of Antagonist. Probably she just breezed in confident as you like and looked around then said "Right, you you and you are my employees now. We're going to make people miserable together!" in that irritating girlish tone then she kills teh dissenters.
It's a nickname. Pirates having nicknames is not a new thing.

Hey WP, I haven't heard much about it, but I was wondering if you know about a little thing in Lion's Arch. Beside the lake behind the Black Lion Trading Company, there's a cave on the edge of the water and a cliff. It's inaccessible by any easy means, but if you go to the back of the BLTC, the part overlooking the lake, you can jump around the cliff. Hang on the edge and watch out for steep slopes. You can fall into the cave and inside of it, there's a single object. A badge perhaps. Any ideas?

Wooden, the clockheart gave me a weird feeling. I feel like scarlet it trying to build a dragon champion. Wouldn't it get her closer to the elder dragons? Perhaps take them over too.. Zhaitan fell, he's perfect as an entry point.

Steam creatures are quite mysterious to begin with and the whole clockwork theme of the knights and monsters invading is just practically screaming "Utopia". If you could, I'd pretty much would really value your input on all this.

does anyone know what the nightmare court do? iv played TA enough to get an armor set of 2 toons and also done story on both. yet i dont think iv ever watched a cut scene for this dungeon....

A thought came to me while watching this, remember in the SAB short story there was mention of "she" without being particularly specific about the identity of this mysterious woman; and now we see Scarlet (who we know studied in Rata-Sum) using solid holograms which may have been a part of the original project that Moto was working on. Do you think there could be a connection? or is this barking up one tree too many?
You can look into thus portal to kind of see other side (it is the same picture every time), which is nothing close in resemblance to what we seen so far.Is the portal from somewhere remote in Tyria, or is it more of a doorway between two dimensions? The questions remain questions for the time being, but maybe in time we'll see the answers reaveal themselves.
Question for your Q&A series: I spent quite a while surfing the forums today, and a reoccurring theme that I found was pretty much everyone hates Scarlet. Now that its been basically verified that Scarlet is involved with this upcoming patch once again, why do you think Arena Net continues to expand on Scarlet when they have so much other more interesting lore and everyone hates her?

what do u mean when u say Theo Ashfords death is offscreen? He dies in that cutscene with magnus and captains+escort mission during the Dragon Bash (or at least I think thats what I saw). I think it was called something like "Effigy Ceremony" and that charr puts a Aetherblade bomb next to the effigy as an offering and it blows up.
Maybe I'm completely wrong I don't know, nice vid anyway :)

I don't want to sound like I'm entitled or demanding, but I'd really like it if you could manage to get these videos of you reading the new short stories that come out quicker, like the next day or the day of even. I'm not reading them myself because I'm waiting to hear you read it instead and get some thoughts on it, but the wait is always killing me :P

unlike a good deal of posters on the forums I am enjoying the story being presented. However, it is moving way too slow. We get little tidbits of info but not nearly enough per month. I know it is supposed to be episodic, but it's very small.
great video, 1 thing the background music this time was a bit loud and a little overshadowing of your voice.
(comments cant be long enough). so,what could the nightmare court (who have proven to be utterly useless push overs) for a year now possibly offer her? i mean. the nightmare court suck so hard they just lost a part of their dungeon.i would like to think that this will overall end up with a total rework of the whole sylvari story (personal story, dungeon(s) and their map areas). atm they feel like a token extra race that has no place or purpose in the game.beside teheran.bring on the forest fires
