Perfect timing! I'm taking my first long haul flight on Wednesday.
My feet used to swell up so bad that I couldn't tie my shoes due to the pain. When I started wearing compression socks for ALL flights over 5 hours, I no longer had issues. I use my Face Cradle for a neck pillow. It can be carried as a slung purse and when in use, it's like lying on a massage table (where your face goes). I don't have a problem with lost bags because I use a carryon for everywhere. The longest I've been on vaca with a carryon is 30 days. My husband and I got tired of them losing his bags so we had to figure something out. It's so rewarding to breeze through baggage claim and go directly on vacation or home. Thanks so much for the tips. I'm going to have to get that sling. It is the only thing missing in my arsenal. I even bring travel liquor and a cup 😂
I want to try the face cradle. Does it get in the way when you're not using it?
@@_MakeItSparkle I always sanitize my seat before sitting. When I'm not using it, I put it behind me as lumbar support or in my lap with the tray table down.
Every year, I fly from South Korea to Argentina. That means a 15 hours fly followed by a 14 hours one. I don't have noise canceling headphones, so I always have some music or noise to sleep. I also brig something to eat. Sometimes food is not enough, good or can make you sick.
The hanging foot rest is one that I do not go without. Makes all the difference for me. And I sleep better with something over my shoulders, even if I'm not cold, so the scarf is another thing I always take. Thank you for the video.
Yes, me too! Thanks for watching
I found with the traditional horseshoe shaped neck pillow that it made me stick out from the chair and I felt like I was sitting straight up with this big bulk behind my neck, instead of snuggled back against the seat. Ended up using it not around my neck, but on the side like a normal pillow. Also agree re cleanliness with it not fitting in my carry on and hanging out touching everything.
Great suggestions! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Need a scarf at all times when traveling no matter what time of year. I agree.
Yes, temps are so unpredictable
Hi Sparkle! CZcams suggested your channel to me and I’m glad I watched. I love your tips - economy long haul is exactly what I will be doing in September, and I know I’m gonna need all the hacks I can find. Your delivery is so calm and friendly, but it’s clear that you have actually tried these products. Thanks for the video.
Thank you 😊 and thanks so much for watching!
Hey girl, hey! First time viewer and new subscriber here! Thanks for all the helpful hacks! 😊
Thank you and thanks for watching 😊
Heard some airlines gonna start counting pillows as your personal item...keep that in mind
I heard that too for domestic flights. I haven't had any issues with international, but I always leave a little space in my carryon in case I have to stuff it in there before I board.
Cabeaux neck pillow saved me on a recent redeye flight
Loved these hacks! Can you please do a video on what you did when your luggage didn’t get delivered safely with you?
Thanks for watching 😊. That's a great idea! I will do a separate video on that.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching 😊
Nice job, thanks!
Thanks for watching 😊
Have had Restless Legs over 3 decades.
A few suggestions. 1. Tonic water can help reduce RLS and is typically available on planes. 2. I've learned from trial and error that my RLS is triggered by wheat/gluten, sugar, caffeine, alcohol and other foods. Food journalling has helped to identify this. 3. Essential oils for pain and nerves may also help. I mix TrueBlue, Peppermint and Lavender.
Hope this helps, I know it can be miserable.
This is sooo helpful! And makes sense why I'm always more uncomfortable in my return flight because I eat ALL of those things on vacation. Thank you 🙏🏾
I love your idea of bringing the pashmina, and am putting mine aside for my next trip! It's only a 4 hour flights, but I think it will really help with the comfort.
Yes! I love to have just in case
I'm going economy to Japan in September I will use these 😊
I'm headed there in hot anus July. I have all these things except the sling. My budget won't allow me to upgrade this time so I'm glad I came across this video.
Sparkle, loved your hacks. Could you tell us where you got your foot rest and packable pillow? Thanks!
Hi- Thanks for watching! I just added the links to everything. The pillow I got from Amazon
Thank you for this video! Where did you get the hanging foot rest? Thanks!
Look on the description of the video (clicking on "more" underneath the video title) and there is a list of links for the items mentioned.
You and the CZcamsr Oh Stephco favor each other. When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was her. You look like you could be family.
We are not related, but she is a delight 😊
the Emirates has among the strictest carryon rules. they have even ruled that the packable pillows (i have one that opens lengthwise and has a plush cover) are considered chargeable carryon in the economy and business classes. not sure how everyone else who have travelled via Emirates 777 economy experienced this carryon rule, but i'm about to fly via Emirates this fall and that's the rule they're having. i was once used to having 2 carryons plus a packable pillow with koreanair and this strict one carryon rule is killing me. and the weight limit on the Emirates carryon is only 15# as well. i just hope i won't regret flying with Emirates this time around
They are definitely getting stricter, but I always leave a little extra space in my personal bag to shove the pillow in before boarding and then take it right back out
I have a packable pillow in a pink fuzzy fabric. I chose pink so I can keep up with it better than a darker color
Yes! The packable pillow fit the win! I'll be doing a part 2 with even more hacks, so don't forget to subscribe 😉
I am taking a trip later this year where I will be doing a trip around the world with carryon only (almost 50K miles in 16 days). I plan on bring my fillable travel pillow, compression socks, eye mask and “foot rest” for my 14 economy flights
I’m going on my first 10 hr flight in the fall and already have all these but the scarf
The fall is tricky for predicting travel temps. Add a lightweight scarf and you'll be good to go! Thanks for watching 🙂
Bring your own pillow case.
Great tip!
Those leg veins fill with blood and hurt so bad if you fly without compression socks.
No matter what hacks you suggest, economy will never be comfortable. I just make sure I can afford business/first class because it’s well worth it 😊
