RJ makes me want every guitar he plays. His ability to solo outside the box in a musical way with tremendous feel is what every player wishes they could do. This is why theory becomes important his knowledge is obvious but does not dictate how he plays it just gives him freedom. That and he is an obvious student if music and genre's. I have heard mixed things about this guitar but damn R J makes me want one

Got to admit, I've never really given Danelectro that much love, but that tone is NUTS! Definitely adding one of these to my collection.
I remember watching this video a few years ago and being so in love with the looks and sound of this guitar, not to mention R.J's fantastic playing. Well it took awhile but I just had mine delivered from Sweetwater two months ago and I am having so much fun with it. Out of the 6 I have, that include Strats, Tele, 335, etc., I have been finding myself picking up the Danelectro more than any other lately.
The Dano is something special that I didn't expect because the sound is so unique and yet ingrained in my mind by 50 years of listening to all the radio hits of the 60's and 70's. It's like having a jukebox sitting in my guitar stand.
Oh and in case anyone was wondering, Blue Sparkle looks even better in person than it does in any video or photo!

My 59 lives on my couch and is played constantly..They are FUN to play, especially if learning hybrid picking..they pluck really well.
I didn't want that first jam to end! But then after you started playing the on the clean settings, all was right again! Looks & sounds great R.J.! I really think Danelectro guitars just look so cool. I have some of their pedals from the early 2000's and they are great too.

Another Awesome Demo. I could throw this in my headphones while im working and Just Groove All day . dude i keep comin back to this , its like an Ear worm. that little run from 2:38 to300is just a great example of tension and then slowly releasing, it back to the groove. Do you have any Solo projects in the works??

Everything this guy does is awesome, but the clean tones starting at 3:07, especially the center position at 3:16, is where the guitar sounds jangly, warm, and big.

These guitars are awesome one of the few guitars I own that never needs anything but strings I have custom builds gibsons fenders you name it and the dano is the cheapest I own yet never needs neck adjustments nothing killer guitars

R.J. I did some recording with my cousin Bill Danoff back in the 90's
He co wrote Take Me Home Country Roads with John Denver then later formed The Starland Vocal Band ..he wrote Afternoon Delight..His piano player was Jon Carroll any chance you've heard if him... He sessioned on demo for Dixie Chicks and toured for years with Mary Chapin Carpenter

Man all the clips youâve done on these danoâs makes me want one. Are they versatile enough to be my daily driver or more of a good tool to have in the arsenal.
They definitely have a unique sound, but I think you could coax just about any style out of them.

Always love Dano's. Except for the clean piece, I don't play distortion unless the band has to play it. Good for those that do of course. Much more playable than the old days!

Danelectros are very good and prove that expensive tonewoods are not necessary to make a good sounding guitar. Check out the cardboard guitar here on youtube, the damn thing sounds great and is cardboard where wood usually is including the neck.

Minor pentatonic and Minor (natural and harmonic) mostly.

My very first guitar was a Silvertone Guitar built by Danelectro pretty cool had a small tube amp built into,
the case ! Sure wish I still had it.. Traded it in for my second guitar brand new 68 Gibson SG.. Great review RJ..

Looks like pau ferro to me. Rosewood is a darker hue.

The great thing about R J is what a great guy he seems to be and man he inspires me and when i pick up my guitar i search and push myself outside the box for notes and tones that i would not consider on my own.

They're made better now(in S. Korea), and have a proper bridge (adjustable intonation).
Beautiful looking guitar was just wondering it looks like a crack or something underneath the strap button looks out of place.
It's a seam..The sides are wrapped in a type of vinyl..These guitars are made of pressed plastic and and sound great..So much for tone wood!
I thought they had some kind of something going on in that area lol I forgot they were some kind of wrap in the sides. Thanks alot it's still a beautiful guitar

How is the build quality? Iâve tried out a few vintage Danelectros at Chicago Music Exchange and while they have a cool sound, I wouldnât want to play them on a regular basis.
The modern one play fantastic and are quality instruments.
Yes the new ones are a good build quality and play like butter.
