Mackinac Island, Michigan is like no other place in the United States. This has to be one of the top places to visit in the USA and if it's not on your list, you need to add it! Situated in northern Lake Huron, Mackinac Island is surrounded by beautiful blue waters, amazing homes and no cars. That's right, there are no automobiles allowed on the island. In this adventure, we are traveling by horse carriage and stopping at various points on the island. But first, we have to take the ferry to get to the island because it is only accessible by boat or private air craft. We spent time touring Fort Mackinac, the butterfly observatory, arch rock and the Grand Hotel, the gem of Mackinac Island. If you have ever wondered what you should do while in Michigan, Mackinac Island should be at the top of the list. Join us as we tour this island stuck in time and end the day with Mackinac fudge. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you for the Great video. We live here in Michigan and we're up at the island last year. Had some great memories from our visit and our stay on the island from about 10 years ago. We stayed with my parents at the Grand Hotel. We were lucky we stayed in the President's suite for a couple of nights. What great memories of that stay. Was my parents last trip they took anywhere.

Hey Nick. I see you ✌🏻 I love the idea of the hop on/hop off carriage ride. Great tip! That fort is right up our alley. We will definitely have to stop when we visit. Nick & Makayla look like they really enjoyed it, too. The Grand Hotel is insanely beautiful. I wonder how much it costs to spend a night there especially with that $75/person buffet price… 😳 What a fun day! Love it.

Hey Jason, the bags have been at a few different stores up here in the UP. They come in a bunch of different shapes/sizes. Unfortunately, they do not have a name but the logo is a mountain range with three trees… the one in this video we purchased from the souvenir store at Castle Rock(In St. Ignace). Then we purchased a book bag style at the souvenir shop after getting off the ferry from the island. I looked online and the only store I can find them at is a a wholesale website. Hopefully you can find one near you 🤞🏻

@@1StrangeAdventure If you go back to the Island, you should prearrange visits with Island leaders - the mayor - key business owners/families, special annual events like the sailboat regattas, Lilac festival, Christmas celebration on Main Street, the five other main hotels on the island - including Mission Point with a doggie daycare, Old Point Lighthouse, ballroom dancing at the Grand, and the famous filming of ‘Somewhere in Time”. And the Lakeside day spa at Mission Point. Food is about more than just fudge. Lake Superior Whitefish is a regional delicacy. Finally, the ‘Secret Garden’ is not that kind of secret; it has nothing to do with its well known location- but rather the magical beauty of the garden.
