I've seen other fish content creators use “portals” on the top of their tank that has a large amount of greens covering the surface of the water (mostly used in guppy tanks) so that there's always a small area of water not covered so you can see/feed them and they come in all different fun shapes!

LUKE, its been my experience that male goldfish have a raised ridge on their underside from the ventral fins to the vent. This area is also firmer in males and usually scaled. Whereas females lack scale coverage and rather than a ridge, have a very shallow canal like line. Their tummy is also softer / easier to press.
This method of sexing has served me well for over twenty years.

If you can make yourself get into the habit of putting the dump-end of the tube into the dump tank before you put the one into the tank, you won't be able to dump water on the floor. You could potentially just coil the tubes and store them near/on the dump tank and maybe even leave them connected to the dump tank if you have enough tubing.
Protip for cleaning up water spills: use a mop, not a towel. Spreads it around so it dries faster while absorbing some the excess in the process. Simply wring out the excess into a bucket.

They grow wild in the gullies around Seattle, Washington. You would think in winter they would die off. But, nope. They are back every Spring till first freeze.

Please get float switch’s and solenoids to stop the overflow /flooding problem (you could also have a long pipe sticking up from the bottom as an overflow but you’ll need to put the tanks on pallets or something…)

Nope twice or 3 times is fine. He is rushing them lokwey but it's not bad on them. Just gotta make sure u use peas 🫛 or something to help them poop, and not get dropsy
