hi Guga, in Turkey the most authentic way of making this is to use meat (mostly lamb) ground with cleavers. The technique keeps the meat super juicy compared to pre-ground version.
"Turkish style" , you ever been to Armenia , Greece and Lebanon, son ?
That's where all their recipes come from .
Edit: and Iran.
Guga you should’ve tried it with lamb
Guga how about trying this same "turkish pizza" experiment but with using dryaged meat, wagyu meat and duck meat variants..
guga im hungry wen can you invite me to eat yours delicious steaks 🤤 bro looks so amazing and delicious
As a Turk we don’t get triggered if Guga calls this a Turkish pizza. As long as he does like how it taste that’s all matter. Thanks for trying Turkish Food on your channel GUGA IT IS AN HONOUR TO GET A REVIEW FROM YOU❤ PLEASE COME BACK AGAIN YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷
This is my new favorite comment
Hello my friend,i am greek and i have made this and it is soooo good just like all turkish food!
I am in LOVE with Turkish food! Thanks for the support
@@GugaFoodslove from Türkiye guga abi
I live in the Netherlands and all the Turkish shops sell "Turkish pizza" it's a durum with ground beef, you can order it with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions. It's served with garlic sauce and spicy red sauce.
Is this something that is actually sold in Turkey?
How to anger Turkish and Italian people in the same video:
Bro Stop calling it pizza before its too late 😂😂
true that!
What’s it called 😂
If this makes them both angry that sucks because its SO GOOD!!!!
Turks won't get triggered over something like this, we've seen much worse ripoffs.
And also it's not as wrong as you might think. That bread he makes is something like Pide, and it is historically and etymologically linked to Mesopotamian Pita bread, just like Pizza. Basically they are relatives.
i dont think Turkish people would use 20% pork😂, and the dough isnt Turkish. so basicly the only turkish thing about this food is the pot? ojeah maybe the sesameseeds hahaha 😂
It is always nice to see people appreciating our food. What Guga had in Turkey seems like a variation of "Tepsi Kebabi" from Hatay region. If you add ground lamb, onions, garlic, green peppers and parsley to the mixture and cook it the same way with some tomato sauce and melted butter it will be a lot closer to the original. It will taste even better as well.
That sounds amazing 🤤
Guga: "Turkish-style Pizza"
Lahmacun: "Am I nothing to you?"
Also, to be fair, this looks more like a Pie than a Pizza.
It looks more like a covered roast than a pie or a pizza. Still looks delicious no matter what you call it.
Is this why they call a pizza a pie?
If after its done instead of cutting we could invert it and cut it like a pizza 🤣
@@lovehawks2814 isn't that basically what a pie is?
@@devastatheseeker9967 Typically speaking, a pie has "bread" on top and bottom, but does need a "bread" layer at the bottom. "Bread" being used as a term to loosely define anything made by cooking a dough made from flour and water. In this case, the bread was acting as more of a lid for baking purposes. This is an ancient technique and is seen in some form in a lot of cultures' cuisine. It is why beef wellington is a pastry wrapped roast. Although evolved from its original iteration, the pastry wrapping was originally for just cooking the meat in what was essentially disposable cookware.
Nowadays everything with a dough is a pizza 🤦♂️🙄
Yeah, if anything, this is like an odd take on a Shepherd's pie.
@@Brando56894 calling this an odd take on a shepherds pie is wild
Aren't pizza just round dough with toppings
I don't know why he call it pizza more like soup nazi
Go cry about it
“What even is pizza and why isn’t it steak? Well, it is.” - Adam Ragusea, probably
Do mention if you find the reference video
"Why I season my peel and not my pizza" - Adam Ragusea, probably
"Now, the secret to perfect pizza at home is to spend a thousand dollars on an outdoor wood-burning oven and *NOOOOO*! Just use a pizza steel!"
Calling this "pizza" is a bit of a stretch. Still looks delicious regardless.
Just a steak pie m8.
They don’t call this pizza in Turkey though. The channel added the the word pizza so that it gets a lot more views, that's all.
In Turkiye, we have "Pide" and it's basically Turkish pizza, not this.
Bu ne bu arada?
yeah that's what I thought. idk what this stuff that guga made is
I call it Lahmacun
I'd say it looks something between Güveç Kebab and Tepsi Kebab.
Güveç kebab is usually done like this, terracotta pot and Pide bread as lid. But it has more ingredients, like stew. Especially onions and garlic are a must. Needs more tomatoes and peppers too.
The thing he did ground beef looks like Tepsi(tray) Kebab, but its usually made with metal trays, not terracotta pots (also needs more ingredients)
Has Giga lost weight? I swear he has. And that’s a miracle with the amount of insane food shown on the channel
This is closer to a pot pie than pizza
It looks inspired by Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Co. 'Pizza Pot Pie'
Not even.
Bro made a Iranian dish with Turkish culinary Technique and put a Italian name on it
I don't know what Guga is smoking but that's not Pizza, not even close. 😂
Guga murdered pizza
Chicago did that a long time ago.
Good high-temperature oil: if there’s no tallow, use ghee. If there’s no ghee, make some from butter.
Guga I’ve been binge watching all of your videos. Love the videos, food looks delicious as always!
Thank you for your videos Guga ! Amazing
Can’t even call that pizza casserole lol
That isn’t pizza, by any stretch of the imagination 😅
that was a good one
A bippa da bappa di!
Are you from Detroit or Chicago?
@@Mojova1 😂 neither
Guga is engagement farming us lol
I was literally just confounded by what I could make for dinner!!! Thanks Guga!!!
By the way. ORIGINAL NAME OF THIS DISH IS : TEPSİ KEBABI❤️
Aka Gugas terms( Turkish pizza☺️)
Love your content. Watching from Kenya
NEVER eat food with your left hand in Turkey or any Mohammadan country. They traditionally wipe their butts with that left hand, and they have not learned to use toilet tissue yet. They just wipe with their left hand and then wipe on the wall or their pant legs. That is such a disgusting dish.
It's finally 26° celcius in Denmark.
Yooo nice in turkish its a mix of ''cağ kebabı'' and literally pizza. Great job!
Hi GUGA! Turkish fan here, love your content. If something was to be called "Turkish pizza" it would be "pide". It is like a boat shaped pizza. You stretch the dough into a boat shape and put on any topping you want. However we like the dough texture crunchier than a pizza. Most popular toppings are kıyma = ground beef, kavurma = stir fried beef sliced into little pieces, kuşbaşı = smaller pieces of beef with vegetables. I would love to see you make a "pide" with smoked shredded short rib I think it would be "AMAZING 10 out of 10 will highly recommend". It would be like the "kavurma style pide" but 10x better. You can add chese on top also, i like it better that way but it is not the traditional way. You also cook pide in a big stone oven like pizza.
Love from Turkey Guga ❤ keep up the good work
soooo fast guga i love your videos bro
Guga long time follower from turkey here, it looks delicious my friend but people usually refer to lahmacun or pide when they use the name turkish pizza. Did you eat a dish similar to this during your vsit to Turkey or? Where did you get the idea from?
Bro calls himself Turkish and has never heard of tepsi kebab :)
@@gregorymorse8423 I did and had it before, but never heard someone foreigner or local call it 'Turkish Pizza' hence I wanted to ask if someone might have introduced him as such ^^ Don't jump your guns so fast m8 x)
@DemonMaluMintus yea must be a clickbait, the description makes no sense. It's Turkish inspired food, and clearly not Turkish pizza.
@@gregorymorse8423 mhm hence I thought that he might be given missinformation back during his visit to Turkey
Guga, I've been watching your content for about a year now, great stuff and have actually made me a much better cook!
Do a video making baleadas from Honduras!
Got to try this with pork tenderloin and sausage slices now against wagu for the control
... this is not a turkish pizza (lahmacun).
Nice seeing Guga be so amped
I hope you make pide someday! I am certain your Guga take on it will be amazing!
Where is the 100 years of side dishes
what I really like about guga is that he seems very down to earth, especially with the ingredients he uses. opposed to many other cooking channels, he doesn't make it seem like "you need to use these expensive ingredients and tools to make good food!" and instead encourages us to try it from home, with conventional equipment and ingredients
This looks so delicious Guga, especially the steak one! 🥩
Awesome video man 😎
Turkish Pizza is called Pide and is nothing like this!
This so goddamn obviously a pie.
As a Turk, I can say we do not approve of salt bae
I bet a short rib version of this would be even more amazing
I have a Moroccan tagine clay pot, I'm defo gonna try this ❤
Lamb will be awesome too…the way Turkish cook lamb is another level
I felt like it needed some sort of tomato sauce to dip it in
Would be interesting to see you do mini versions of these for your side dishes. You could do some cool things with it.
The way Leo claiming the entire stake pizza at the end while Angle was crying for it on the other side 😂😂😂
lol bruh said "you dont have to spend 100$ for good tooth care" but the brush is $75 - $108 after tax. Love the vid and the pizza tho
Guga's trying to please the algorithm Gods by triggering a war in the comments about how this isn't pizza. We are all playing right into his hand XD
Gotta get those ad sense baby! 😅
That’s just a bi-product of Guga greatness, not his main work hahaha
As a Greek I have to highly recommend you try a plakuntos ( Greek pizza) which is traditionally topped with olive oil, onions, cheese, garlic, dates and herbs. Some say that's where pizza as we know it today originally came from.
Best cook i have ever seen
The Cheese didnt melt together, hand shred it next time.
That isn't pizza, there is no sauce. you made quessadillas
quesadillas? seriously... I already made Turkish and Italians mad now Mexicans too?
@@GugaFoodsas a Mexican I give you a pardon
@@GugaFoodskeep pissing them off it’s kinda funny seeing them cry LMAO.
Quesadillas!? What have you been taking? That's nothing even close to quesadillas ha haa!! 🤣🤣
@@GugaFoods If you would talking about dogs it would be cross breeding, you do free style cross cooking - great 🤣
strange but fun and always delicious experiments...no one else can do it better than Guga.
I’m not really a fan of peppers but I might try this and just substitute the peppers for more tomato.
Guga :' This Pizza Murdered my craving for steaks.'
Then proceeds to put steak in the pizza.
Guga man I love you hahaha
FACTS!!!!!
According to this I made a ham, mudtard, and cheese pizza. It was between two pieces of white bread. My brother made a top ramen pizza. All he did was cood a bowl of ramen and put bread crumbs on top. Best pizzas ever.
In the Netherlands we have Turkish Pizza. But it’s fastly different. And actually looks more like a pizza. But can be rolled up like a burrito. (also called a wrap here sometimes.) It’s more a flammenkuche.
Guga's final pizza was so well done, Leo thought it was still rare.
I like the concept, wondering if I can make a keto version of this with keto dough ... I think the lack of gluten may make it difficult but worth a try! Thanks for the great video as always😊 gives me so many great ideas.
My picky toddler took one look and held her hand out for a slice 😂
Now I have to get an oven to make her a normal pizza atleast 😂
Watching this vid at 4AM aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm hungry.
(sneaks to kitchen)
Hey Guga, could you do a stuffed brisket?
Under 1 hour gang
1:55
That is more like a taco than a pizza.
Guga: NO GRILL MARKS!!!
Also Guga: I love a charred crust!
what are those lazy ass whole pepper and tomato in there?😂 “slice a thin carrot in there, the whole length of the carrot. and olives. whole olives”
I am a simple man, I see, I click, I watch
The inflection when Guga talks always makes me laugh lol he starts every sentence normal, then gets deep and sexy before the period lol 😂
"I just wish the steak was over here" - cracked me up.
Bro never heard of a pizza calzone. All same thing minus unnecessary pottery.
My Italian friend looks in horror and disbelief. He says he's ready to commit "Indian seppuku" (hope you get the sarcasm here) on anyone (more sarcasm) who uses the words Turkish and pizza in one sentence or if someone calls this pizza. He admits it can be a good food item, but demands another name for it. He also said "Americans" in a tone like "what did we expect". I must say I am inclined to side with him....
Shwarma in this woulda been amazing. It would of crisped up so well.
Interesting dish. Guga, I’d like to see you make your version of an Alabama white sauce chicken!
turkish food is on a nother level
not even close to being a pizza
Maybe to you
that subtle detail that Leo took the steak one closer to him and further from Angel xD
This woulda been perfect with lamb or mutton, which is a staple in Turkey. You gotta try it
Looks fantastic, but by any North American definition of a pizza, those aren't pizzas.
Guga, that is a big stretch. Not a pizza. Appears you just wanted to use "pizza" as a buzz word for clicks.
Have a better day.
Who hurt you?
Can you add a link to the clay pots? I can only find little ones on amazon.
Always cracks me up how Guga constantly misuses causal words, like "as now I say...", "but then we're gonna...", "because all that's left..."
1 view in 10 seacond? Damn guga really fell off
Bro 😂
😐
Never was funny and you are cringe
We love to make something similar and use smaller individual non stick dishes, We then add filling of choice and pizza dough as you did but once cooked you can upturn on a plate loosen the pizza on the edge and remove the dish. Wecall it Pizza Pot Pie 🥧 🍕
There's a turkish restaurant here that hired us to do some plumbing work in there. When we finished, we were met with a big platter of free food.
Man, i love turkish food, it tastes so delicious. They wouldn't tell me how it was seasoned, secret recipe apparently.
People freaking out about guga calling this pizza when i'm freaking out about the rolling pin dough stretch lol
7:13 had me rolling on the floor
1:59 guga spittin bars right here
That pan would make one hell of a Chicago deep dish.
In italy, in the city of Turin they have a tradition of "Pizza al tegamino", basically pizza made in a pan.
You know I always wondered..What is the specific genre of Guga's cooking montage scenes. Like I did the music but dono what genre to look for.
First, the level of cook on the steak *before* it went in to the concoction is exactly how I like my steak.
Second, use ground lamb.
Guga you should try mousaca from Greece
Guge, Video Idea:
Cook a steak in indirect heat on the grill.
Achieve crust by deep frying steak in very hot tallow oil.
Enjoy?
Hair cut looking fresh!
Hi Guga... subscribed to all your channels, (even that one you think no one knows about), I have your book... i.e. I am a died in the wool follower. Now, having said that, this Turkish "pizza" is as much pizza as "Turkish Delight" is a delight . Hint, Turkish Delight is a [piece of candy with overpowering overtones of cheap perfume. And this "pizza" that uses the pizza crust as a pot lid... is not pizza. I suggest the use of the erm, "Turkish Train Wreck" or 'Orient Express Wrecks in Napoli"
This is basically an Italian inspired Schwerma .
Guga should do a Kebab pizza like they eat in Sweden, that and the Special variation where they top it with a salad.
well adding eating a guga steak to my bucket list.
9:48 The only way steak is over cooked is if it chews like shoe leather
Since you inspired me over the years to try different ways to cook steak here is a way i can give more than just a thank you. Slap yo momma spice is awsome on steak
Awesome!
I want to see him do this but with birria brisket and cheese
Guga trying to sell us his kitchen gadgets meanwhile he seemingly doesn’t even own a cheese grater or food processor for shredding cheese.
