The paper towel one is good to have. U save money and just throw the rest in the garage. I miss costco now that i’m not in the US anymore, but there are def items where the bulk is overkill.
Costco employee here, I don’t shop there much at all either 😅 I only buy their chickens, toilet paper, gas and dog food. My perspective of it is that Costco is great to shop at for families, but it’s definitely not for everybody.
Nice. I don't mind some non-perishable things in relative bulk (8 rolls of paper towels or 500 qtips), but I agree about the food. Costco bulk is great for families with kids, but that's not me. 90% of the time I go to Costco is for the gas. 5% is for the flu shots. 5% for the rest.
I came to the same conclusions as you, and I find I'm buying more stuff at Target and the grocery store and far less at Costco. I used to get cat litter at Costco for around $12 for 42 pounds, but nowadays it's closer to $18 for 42 pounds, so what's the point? I renewed my membership earlier this year and I think that was out of habit more than anything, because I haven't been there in weeks.
Costco is great for certain items: paper towels, frozen food, laundry detergent, etc. stuff that doesn’t go bad and you’re bound to use up eventually.

yeah if it's a $6 difference I just go with the closer store without the bad parking :P
Why buy for yourself only? Buy for yourself and some friends and equally distribute the cost.
That's socialism.. More like give the extra to your friends for free and hope they do the same with whatever they buy.
