I had the amazing opportunity to see Ginna Claire Mason as Glinda, and let me just tell you, SHE WAS AMAZING!! I was blown away, she added her own twist to Glinda which was so refreshing to hear after listening to Kristen Chenoweth for yearssss as my cast recording Glinda.
He's seems like such a genuinely nice man. And talented too!

I saw Emily on the tour a couple months ago when Wicked was in Orange County and oh my GOSH, she was phenomenal. I've seen the tour a couple times now and she was by far, the most amazing Elphaba I've seen. Her voice is incredible and I was in awe the entire time. I was so happy to see her pop up in this vlog!!

Thank you for explaining the difference between a ‘Stand By’ and an understudy. I had a friend who worked PHANTOM OF THE OPERA for all four years it played the Ahmanson in Los Angeles and there were nights (especially during a Flu epidemic that hit the cast really hard) when it was virtually a different show. Ginna Claire Mason was actually my Glinda when I went to see the show November 25th. She was fantastic! Surprised to find she's the standby and not the everyday Glinda. Jonah Platt, I just love for Fiyero - hair, mannerisms, and all - don't know any of the other Fiyeros, but he feels just right for the part. Looking forward to my next Wicked show. With enough luck, I'll be one of the actresses!
+Claire Guo Now my mind gears are twirling. - Are these videos posted a couple weeks after being taken? After all, Ginna Claire Mason was Glinda November 25th, this was posted December 7th, and it was her first week here in the video (and apparently, she hadn't been Glinda during a live show yet). Maybe it's obvious that the vlog is a couple weeks late and I've done all this deducing for nothing and I feel like a bona fide miniature Sherlock Holmes for terrible reasons.... but hey! It was fun deducing.

That comment he said about Fiyero not commenting on her green: One, he does, or at least did when I saw the play. He said something like "green means go" but he said it teasingly and not maliciously, so it was cute. And two: That was my favorite part with Fiyero. You could instantly see why Elphaba would like him. =)

One of the first things Fiyero says to Elphaba in the play is "Well, maybe he saw green and thought it meant: go." Given, he says it to piss her off because she was (rightfully so) rather nasty to him on their first encounter, but he does comment on her skin.

Seen Emily killing it Christmas Eve in St. Louis at the Fox Theater! Congratulations to her! ... What a great all round production. Still need to pilgrimage my butt to NY and see the Gershwin Theatre performers some day! ... along with a dozen other shows.

Omg! I just saw Ginna in Tulsa as Glinda!!!! She is an angle!
My husband and I went to see the show on October. At the end of the show, we asked the cast members for a short message for our daughters (7 & 6 years old). They were all so sweet and agreed to do it. Emily, who performed that night, said: "Rebeca and Valeria, defy gravity" and it became my daughters´motto. They´d come back from school with stories of how they, or their classmates, defy gravity (as in when someone said they could´t do the monkey bars, and they did; or when someone said girls can´t play basketball and they did). They know every song and dance to them all day long. We live in Mexico and hope to save enough to take them to NY soon to see the show. Their Christmas presents they asked from Santa were Wicked related: the Elphaba and Glinda dolls, and a sewing machine to create all the costumes.

Love me some #FiyeroTime! Great interviews this week and giving shout outs to the amazing swings, understudies and standby's of Broadway! They are so vital and necessary to a production but are often not recognized! Way cool Jonah for devoting a whole episode to these amazing actors! Your dog is so cute!

I thought I would get use to it when defying gravity and thank goodness is playing when I'm watching this but no...still not use to it. I never will and I'm glad of that because this play is so freaking amazing.

I've never been to New York (actually to the US) and don't know much about Broaway, but is the Gershwin Theatre only for "Wicked" and there are no other plays running?
+alexandr pinchuk yes, the Gershwin theatre is specifically designed just for Wicked. It's because the stage has a clock type of design with an unusal stage floor (it's not completely level and it also has this weird little two curve thing where there's a hole in the orchestra pit so the conductor can direct properly and make sure not to conduct when something unusual happens). Also, since they have at least one show there a day, it would be nearly impossible for them to have another Broadway production running there at the same time. There simply would not be enough space for all of the sets, props, coustumes, etc.

Yes, Via Galactica the musical was there before and it also was a concert hall for musicians to perform in.
