In the gospels, Jesus refers to "the scriptures" He is referring to the Torah. The gospels were not written then, so we all as Christian should read "the scriptures" that Jesus and the apostles referenced as well as the Gospels. All of the word of God is equally important and all point to God's 10 Commandments which He said that if we love Him, we will keep them.

This is the second blessing before the Shema in the evening service. We thank G-d for giving us Torah and recognize that unlike ourselves, G-d and the gift of Torah are eternal. Here is an english translation -
Endless is Your love for Your people Israel. You have taught us Torah and its mitzvot, laws and judgement. Therefore, O God, when we lie down and when we rise up we shall speak of Your commandments and rejoice in Your Torah and mitzvot forever. Day and night we will reflect on them. Yes, music can have that effect in your soul. I'm glad you saw these brothers sing. My wife had two Jewish grandparents that survived the horrors of WW2 Germany by leaving Berlin just before the borders closed out of that country. The settled in Australia and my mother-in-law was born after they arrived. She later married, became a Christian and had 5 children. All the family sings beautifully and it is a gift that many Jewish people are born with. Though we are active Christians we also celebrate Passover every year and we have learn some of the songs in Hebrew that are sung at those types of celebrations so we can join in. Song of joy and gratitude to God heals the soul and makes this world a better place!
