Flamingo Land is a theme park, zoo, and resort located in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, England. Opened in 1959, it has been owned and operated by the Gibb family since 1978.

Bringing back memories for me there, Ross. I was living in that region during the mid and late 60s and visited FL a couple of times. It was more zoo orientated, with just a couple of "theme park" bits, back then. I seem to remember one of them was a massive water slide thing. I believe it was quite rare, if not unique, for UK non seaside activity entertainment back then.

I had a ticket, ended-up in hospital the night before, and my mum went instead (got her picture in the paper, holding an inflatable FA Cup)... I also played in the same team as Jono Greening at school, although he was a couple of years older than me.

I was told the gates on the far side of the ground came from the original ground where I saw Cardiff play in the 90s(kipped in the car after getting off the York supporters coach after a Friday game at Gillingham the night before)!🤪. Really liked Spennymoors ground as well although gutted they didn't produce a programme for the game I watched there.
