    My son has the same surgery. He is 2 weeks from the surgery. Has discomfort from the back but leg numbess is gone. Admire your perserverance and patience.

      What a warrior - give him some love from all of us dealing with this. The discomfort in the back will probably last a while but the numbness being gone is key! He's a beast. Give him all the love.

    I had my spinal fusion. Sure hope it gets better. I had it bc of neurological symptoms in my legs. The weakness I feel in my legs is worse. Not able to walk.

    I was wondering if you would make another video. I’m laying in the hospital bed as I write this status post L5-S1 spinal fusion for Pars. I was devastated to wake up to be experiencing the same neurological symptoms that brought me to surgery. I feel hopeless bc now I have the neurological symptoms and severe severe back pain.

      Definitely will make another video. So sorry you're experiencing that. Make sure to be very vocal with nurses/surgeons/PA's that you are feeling similar symptoms and similar pain. Ask them WHY and continue to ask WHY.
      For me, like I said, they had to do a lot of "cleanup" in the L5/S1 region and aggravated my nerves a lot more. So it could be that. I'll make another video here shortly.

      Hi! I'm doing okay. I'll be posting a one month update here this week. My main issues are intense muscle aches and spasms in my right leg still. General weakness too.
      New thing that started recently is some nerve pain - not as intense as sciatic pain - in my left leg which never had any issues ever before. But that comes and goes unlike my right leg which is aching ever since I got out of surgery. I think a lot of my right leg pain is because I lost a lot of muscle mass after surgery since my surgeon said there was so much scarring from the pars defect going unnoticed for so many years. So they had to do extra work there and probably irritated the nerves and hence I lost a good amount of muscle mass in my right leg, especially my calf muscle.

      But overall, I'm hoping to feel much better before I return to work after week 8. I work a desk job so I'm practicing sitting down for more hours at a time. I just need to remember to take it easy and be patient. Happy to have gotten the surgery though.

    Hi Dylan, I am going in next week for this surgery and I'm close to 60. Do you have any tips on getting comfortable as best you can in bed? I'm a side sleeper and I hope with lots of pillows it will work lol 😆

    • @dylanandersen2159
      @dylanandersen2159  Před 2 lety +1

      You will be fine! Hang in there. I had to sleep on my back and side and still struggle with what's best, even 16 months out. You will find what's best!!! Pillows, pillows, pillows.
