    Thank you so much for these videos. I’ve also gone through this surgery and went in on the 18th stayed in hospital until yesterday. This is my first day at home. Everything you are saying is making sense, and is truly helping me cope im an EMT and struggling with being helplessness and also feeling like a baby. So, thank you for reassuring me. I’m going to watch all of these!

      @@dylanandersen2159 I’m on day 18 and I feel like crap, I have very bad neuropathy in my right leg, same side as the herniation was and I have the stamina and strength of a kitten. I cry almost every day, I use to be so fit and active, and now all I do is try and get the energy to make my kids dinner. I’m bored I’m frustrated. I know this is typical and everyone goes through this. But I’m so miserable. My friends and family have been amazing though, trying to keep me company, I’m an extream extrovert so some days I’m going insane because I’m on my own with very little to do and no one to talk to. But your videos have helped and I really appricate the encouraging words. I know I got a long road a head, but I will recovery and get back to work.

    I want to thank you so much for making these videos Dylan. I’m 2 weeks out from L5-S1 TLIF. Experiencing exactly what you did. Not a lot of back pain but intense leg and foot pain. Very scared this is not going to get better. Grateful to you for making these videos, definitely helps to hear someone else has had this experience.

    Thank you. I am having this surgery with laminectomy and foraminotomy on feb 15. They told me my pars defect is bilateral as is the foraminal stenosis. Grade 2 anterolisthesis, congenital. Dr said 4 month recovery but I am 60 years old. Scared...

    • @dylanandersen2159
      @dylanandersen2159  Před 2 lety +2

      You'll be fine! The recovery is long, yes, but pars defect has no other cure other than spinal fusion. It's literally the only option as far as I know. The recovery was so tough for me even at 35, but with time, everything will heal. Be active - but not too active - and just know the mental pain is the hardest. I am hoping the best for you Jean!

    I’m on day 7 from surgery. He went in through my back 8 days ago only to find he couldn’t get the disc out due to a nerve in the way. He put in the hardware and then 36 hours later went back in through my stomach. I got front and back cut open. It is the morning of day 7 from the last surgery, here is what I’m expecting:
    1. Sleeping does SUCK! Nothing helps
    2. I now have similar ghost pains in my opposing hip flexor.
    3. Sitting is difficult to get comfortable
    4. I’m also not sure if the Codine is doing anything.

I can’t get comfortable, nobody’s even told me how to maneuver at all, I can’t move and they told me I would go for a walk and I still haven’t been! The only thing that helped so far with pain is morphine and a pain pill together and it wore off in 30 mins. I don’t know what to do!
