Giratina origin forme is essentially a ghostly dragon centipede/millipede. Bit heavily stylized to look cool(and the way the mandibles move give it a cute factor!).

Arceus was so serious about smiting Giratina he swore to himself.
Fun theory is that giratina has trouble controlling his own power which was gravity as gravity can distort space and time like how planets do but with it being out of control arceus sent him into his own dimension the distortion world were giratina learned to control his powers as the "floor" changes within and giratina is the only one when in origin form has no legs and only in his alter form while the others always have legs no matter the form
It's more likely that Arceus isolated him in some dimension to limit his power, but that place is just a regular pocket dimension and NOT the Distortion World YET. After Giratina got isolated, his own power distorted his isolation dimension and distorted it, thus making it the Distortion World.

ARCEUS BETRAYED GIRATINA
Giratina being stated as being the master of Anti-Matter ruined his reputation unnecessarily. He doesn't even have control over Anti-Matter. He controls Gravity and DARK MATTER. His Dex is just written by a 14 year old who doesn't know what the hell he controls and made it up on the fly.
Tbf he did scheme with Volo and planned the downfall of mankind so i knda see why assumptions are presumed

Plus, we’ve seen from Pokémon Platinum and Legends: Arceus that Giratina can leave the Distortion World on its own accord. It isn’t necessarily trapped there.

In all honesty, everything inferences from at least how my Pokemon acted in Pokemon Arceus, I can kind of deduce that giratina was not as evil and terrifying as everyone says, if anyting he was basically the special Ed kid of the pantheon, like an autistic introvert. The reason why he's depicted as evil it's most likely because of how powerful he is and because rulers and monarchs keep using his power to subjugate others. I guarantee you the reason why his statue is broken apart in Legends Arceus most likely has something to do with either the ancestors of the diamond and Pearl tribes believed he was some sort of usurper God and hated him for it, or because a certain person (most likely from Cynthia's bloodline) controlled him into causing chaos, which was most likely just opening another space-time rift, as it is explained that the space-time rift had opened once before, so from point of view, I have deduced that giratina was forced to open the space-time rift once before, not because he was evil, but possibly because he was manipulated... Think about it, giratina is known as the most unsettling and sometimes even the most disgusting of the creation trio. What if the reason why please open the space-time rift was because someone saw what he was capable of and manipulated him into doing so with promises of attention and affection, as he was most likely hated by the diamond and pearl clans...
