- Head of Dagestan Sergei Melikov hosted UFC lightweight champ Islam Makhachev and his father, a day after Islam's arrival in his hometown of Makhachkala. As part of the meeting, Melikov handed Makhachev Dagestan's medal of honor, third degree.
