I had a stroke last month. Not overweight, low blood pressure. Fortunately I was astute enough to figure out what was going on within 10 minutes. But within 15 minutes I couldn't speak on the phone I couldn't figure out how to press the buttons on the phone I totally didn't think about the emergency button on my phone. I can understand why most people don't have a clue. I do have a little bit of a medical background and despite my initial denial, I realized what was really happening. I was able to get the TPA within 1 hour and a half of my first symptoms. The biggest challenge like I said was trying to get a hold of someone, since I live by myself.

I recovered from an ischemic stroke using naturopathic techniques. A balanced diet helped, excluded animal protein from the diet. Mandatory omega-3 dosage of 500 EPA and 250 DHA, cold pressed hemp oil, sunflower lecithin, vitamins B9 and B12 are mandatory. Eliminated fast carbohydrates from food. Be sure to exercise daily and walking (if possible), joint gymnastics even lying down. Only positive thoughts. Breathing according to Buteyko’s technique helped very well, drank warm clean water so that platelets were normal. She used freshly squeezed beet-carrot juice. And the complex cleaning of the body: it is necessary to clean the intestines, carry out antiparasitic cleansing, clean the liver and kidneys and the lymphatic system.

Mine lasted about a 60 secs. I thought it was a sudden massive hypoglycemia. My CGM was at 280 . i remember my legs just giving out, like jello. Kept trying to stand up but felt like a seizure. Toppled over my coffe table. Was still able to see, but things were blurry. Could have been my glasses fell off my face. Managed to get to my meter to test. Was still 280. I'd say feeling wise this was worse than a severe low blood sugar by 100%.
Iam going to follow up with my Dr Monday. As i read a mini stroke can be sign's of a more serious one. Thanks for sharing this.

In 2016 my mom had a right middle cerebral artery, M1 branch ischemic stroke, related to atrial fibrillation. She had left-sided neglect, left-sided paralysis, and great difficulty speaking. It happened in a parking lot with other people around and she was brought to the hospital in only about 15 minutes. She was not eligible for tPA because she had recently had surgery. She was transferred from the small community hospital to MGH (Boston, MA) and at about 4 to 5 hours after onset of symptoms she had a thrombectomy via a stentriever as shown here. The initial recovery was dramatic and she regained the ability to move her left side and to speak normally within about an hour of coming out of anesthesia. She does have some trouble walking and mild to moderate cognitive deficits but I am so grateful for the quick, expert treatment she received. This treatment method is indeed life-changing for those who cannot use tPA.

Is TIA. mostly caused by blocking in the carotid artery.
My mother had a TIA. ,the hospital put her on Clopidogrel blood thinner but I'm wondering if she needs a Corotidendarectomy I think it's called to clean out the artery.
I looked up the terminology in the CT scan and it said the carotid has plaque and she has small blood vessel disease!
Also over the last 18 months she has started to suffer memory problems and extreme fatigue, not getting out of bed in the morning ,she is 82 years old..any experts reading appreciate any view,as I think the hospital here in London is asking for tests months later holster test done but echo waiting till January!

Magnesium chloride cleans blood vessels and therefore prevents and avoids stroke. Because it removes the fats from the blood vessels and impurities inside them that clog them up. It improves the varicose veins as well or makes them disappear, and lowers the pressure of those who have high blood pressure, making it lower and normalize and never getting high again. But it has to take for a while and then stop. It cannot take forever, because otherwise it may give some problem. Hope it helps everyone and hugs!

This only works if the ER docs listen to the daughter who doesn’t have Alzheimer’s already.😏
Last July I took my 86 yr old father to the ER with pain in the R side of his head and even though he had a history of numerous Tias and I explained to the drs that I had found him holding his head and complaining about severe pain in his ear at 9:30 that morning and brought him in by 10:30 . I wasn’t sure whether he was having a Tia again or what but I didn’t want to take any chances.
Unfortunately they asked my demented father when this pain started and he said he had felt bad for “ 2-3 days”.
WRONG , he lives in my backyard and I am his daughter/ caregiver and he had not been having any pain the day before!!!
As a result daddy’s dementia has speeded up drastically.
Lesson for ER doctors- listen to the caregiver of a demented patient NOT the patient who is no longer able to know when a stroke started!!!

just happened to me, got to the bland new hospital less than 30 mins after numbness n partial paralysis, er had tanken brain cat scan determined that I had just experienced a brain bleed, however while this hosp was new no one was on staff was a neurosurgeon as of yet, so they transported me wait out to another hospital 30 mins away but took them six hours later. after i got a mri roughly 8 hours after entering that hospital, neurosurgeon state to cut out side of skull just to examine it first, when other new hosp was talking of treating it as a simple brain bleed, with no real side effects from that serure, i was only giving dexamethasone which help immediately with the pressure, but again that was administered after begging for something for pain 24 hours later. id like a second option on option before i just comment to removing something said to be a blood bleed they are unsure of that is not affecting me as of now
