Just a heads up Ryoma in midnight mode his final bond mission I think is called crossing roads is utterly impossible the game balancing is terrible making it darn near impossible to defeat him I wish you all the luck
I've beat the game, on midnight. He's maxed out but I can't for the love of God vow this asshole. I've been watching multiple videos and reading multiple forums and nothing.
There is one story line option where you can choose to save him or not that's the only I can think of something in story missions isn't pro Ryoma u can change any of your choices by replaying mission
I fucking finally got it to work. The goddamn reason it wasn't working? I had romanced multiple....women. I had to unromance them, then jump to Kyoto (pre-shog) and it finally triggered the romance option. Took me forever to find out.
Same as bond levels just do bond missions, give him gifts, and use him as ally during missions. Also favor doesn't unlock until bond level is high enough level 3 I think

Try doing all his bond missions if u haven't I think favor is tied to their progress
