      I live in the American pacific northwest, it's turned into a status symbol to have something like this. I prefer to do it the way this guy has and keep the fact that I can between me and my friends.

      @@imbalance9186 it is depending on the type of school. In Sweden they have 2 types of high schools. The 1st type is for “academically gifted” students who want to persue higher education. The 2nd type is for students who want to enter the workforce or are taking over a family business right after graduation. The second type is a more practical hands on experience, and from the op’s comment he must be in the second type, because those classes are to be expected.

    Love the rotary knife if you drill a small hole on the blade corresponding to a hole on the fork that holds the blade you can get a spring lock pin to hold it in place when you use it as a head knife that would be a cool multi function

    I made one similar after watching this video. Not quite so neat but it was my first attempt. Im still pleased with it and I can now take my puukko to the woods without losing it.

    I honestly thought it would turn out like another sheathe that was 30x larger than the actual blade but this makes me happy its at least proportionate❤

      How did you make those center ring in the center of the sheath? How did you apply your belt loop? Great video short!

      @Cerne Drain hole is more to let the moisture escape the sheath, and in the woods you cant really choose the weather you might be in total down pour, and obviously sheath, and your knife will be wet no matter what. Leaving hole in the tip of the sheath basicly allows the water to escape, and sheath dry out faster

    Nice editing! I think your leather cant dry reasonably in the inside after wetmolding. That's Why you get those dark dots after it's dry. May ne dependant in the leather you use though

      that's how Finnish puukko sheaths are designed. It also helps to lock the knife inside without falling out and without the need of straps and fasteners :)

    You can also use a slightly larger piece of Leather, to incorporate a single Belt Slot in the area you cut off.

    nicely done.
    If you used wood bleach mixed in warm water (not very much bleach or will turn leather natural color) if will remove the iron spots you have in the bark tan leather.

      Oh this is very nice advice - looks like you have good amount of experience with leatherworking. I was wondering what causes these black dots when I wet the leather and at some point I figured out that iron dust may cause it because of the tanning chemicals. But you confirmed it :) I will try this and maybe I will make a sheath that is not dyed :)

      thanks I know it is not the right way to do it, I sometimes use diamond hole punch but the drill method is a bit easier and faster :)

    Was the ulu knife you made sharpened with sharpening stones or just sanded

      I just sharpened it on the belt grinder and then on a polishing belt. It is not the most optimal way but sharpening it on a stone will not be easy with this shape :)
