I just did that mission while Peter didn't have the symbiote suit and was wondering if I messed up the canon by triggering the mission early (it leapt to Night time as well, which was a first for me throughout the entire playthrough). Still, felt like that could've been post game or a requirement to finish before triggering the black suit altogether with Wraith showing up to realize Peter isn't Peter and having a long look at herself.
NPCS mention the suit in combat so the game is aware u have it. I don't think they intended for u to be far along in the story b4 u started doing them I guess. Wearing black suits makes hsi voice change in free roam too ive noticed.

So yeah it should be able to change colors to black even tho it is anti-venom. It doesn't because they didn't want it to change colors, they already said it's not a bug or anything.
This is exactly why I stuck with the anti venom suit for the post game cleanup, since it at least looked consistent. I actually really like the anti venom suit, but I really wish I could’ve equipped the black suits again after I was done with the main story

I think one way they could do this is by having another suit tab (kinda like how they have miles and peter in separate tabs) with just Peter's Symbiote suits. They could then have it so you can switch to the symbiote by pressing Up on the D-pad. Each symbiote suit would also have the color match, and when you do the symbiote surge it changes (if not already) to the symbiote suit you have selected instead of just the anti-venom suit.
Yes they need to give us the option in settings to change the perry animation to the symbiote or the spider arms, and another change I would also like is the option to change the dash and jump traversal thing to the symbiote or spider arms as well because right now, that only depends on the suit you have equipped and while they’re at it, they might as well give us an option to change our spider arms to one of the special variants like the MCU iron spider or the superior spider arms in settings too
I hope they also add the mood change back to all the black suits after you’ve beaten the game, hearing Peter acting happy and friendly with the 2nd black suit is just strange
I don’t think it they’ll work on it simply because it doesn’t make sense for Peter to still be that aggressive. Would it be cool? Of course, but story wise it would be out of character.
I think at this point enough people have pointed this isue out that we will absolutely get a patch for it within the next few weeks. I'm expecting something as early as next week, if not midway through November. Insomniac always listens to fan feedback (so long as it's not death threads or just disrespectful) and if enough fans sent them proper feedback about the Symbiote color post-game, they are surely working on fixing it perhaps even as we speak.

I think it's cool bc it looks like an extension of the white parts of the symbiote suit. I wish there was an option (kinda like comic sfx and low framerate spider verse movement) that allowed you to change the color of the symbiote abilities tho.
This is facts. Anti-venom abilities compared to the black suit have different attack animations too.. hopefully they find a way to add the actual black venom powers/rage to the symbiote instead of just a recolor when using.
An update could be choosing whether or not Anti-Venom is selected or Venom. So in the abilities thing there could be an option for Peter being: *Symbiote selection* Where you could change the default setting after you finished the game from Anti-Venom to Venom

Yeah, I noticed this pretty early on after beating the main story. Its also there in the parry attack too. Feel like they should have given us another thing in the abilities section for choosing your main load-out like black, white , or spider arms so anything can be used with any suit. It’s also a big ask, but I love an audio change in the settings at least for free roam to have the super aggressive pete voice. I loved it and it felt like i definitely didn’t hear all his lines in the open world before we loose the black suit in the main story.
Another thing that bugs me is when you use the regular spider arms abilities, the arms and the base from where it comes out from just instantly blinks into Peter's back and then disappears when you're done using it. It's not noticable during combat but when you take the time to notice it, it's jarring as hell. The Superior Spider-Man suit works well with the arms since it has the base modeled onto his back so the arms neatly comes out and goes back into the base. But I just wish they'd at least made it more seemless with the Advanced Suit 2.0 since it's supposed to be his default suit.
I must be one of the few people that likes the way it looks. To me, it looks like the Anti-Venom powers are coming out of the central white Spider of the Black Suit, which is a good compromise for like a "headcanon" thing, where the dormant Symbiote in Pete remembers the form it took before being pacified by Mister Negative's powers, so it can "switch" to it, if Peter wills it, but of course, it IS still Anti-Venom. The black webs and black web-splashes have to go, though. I do agree they should just give us the option to either go full Anti or Pre-Anti-Venom on the web effects, because the inconsistencies are a bother.
I'd rather they just add the black Variants of the symbiote moves in the ability section. So you can switch between white and black when you want (or mix them if you wanted)

Something that also bothers me is that peter's air tricks have the same names as miles', so you can be performing air tricks with peter and being able to see shit like "Miles Special" popping up on your screen.
The game's great and this is a very, *very* minor nitpick, but... Yah. I totally agree. I really feel like it wouldn't have taken much for Insomniac to just make the symbiote powers match the black suit. And not only that, but what if you just wanna be normal Spidey? It bugs me that in the post game, even when you have all your abilities set to the Spider Legs, Peter will still counter and stuff with Anti-Venom. It just feels weird wearing like, the classic red and blue and still have white spooge pop out of you. Again, I know these are trivial things, but it's precisely because of that that I fell it isn't asking much for some attention to detail to be applied to them... I dunno. Still an awesome product.
This is true it is a bit strange, hopefully they change it. My favorite thing though is that when you go into Symbiote Surge, it replaces your current suit with the Antivenom one if youre wearing anything but the black suit (I could be wrong havent tested everything). It also changes your abilities over to the symbiote abilities, meaning you can have all the other SpiderGadget abilities equipped and can still use the symbiote ones during surge. Its immersive af for me dont ask why lmao
Considering the devs have already implemented custom web colors depending on the suit, and custom iron spider arms depending on the suit... Id say this feature was just cut for time and is 100% getting added in one of the most recent updates we're gonna get.

It'd be cool if it tapered off into the white to signify that it's still a costume for the Anyi-Venom suit, but that theres a variation that makes Pete more aggressive and is all black
In theory he could emulate any color with his symbiote. They didn’t explain which abilities he keeps and which he lost.. but maybe that one he didn’t lost. Now, the agressive part is not right after taking the symbiote off even using the black suit his comments are normal to the city events npcs
I noticed that too but I do like how you turn into the anti venom suit over the other suit you’re wearing when you use symbiote surge. And the mechanical legs and look different matching their certain suits which are: superior suit, iron spider armour and the MCU iron spider suit. And when you use the web wings on the civil war suit, the wings are actually a smaller version of the MCU falcon. Pretty cool😁
Also I personally wish when using the black classic suit that the webs are kept white since that’s how it used to be. His webs were still white but they came out from the top of his hand instead.
Things the game needs for replayability: 1. Recolor in black for all symbiote abilities (including traversal) (Maybe a carnage recolor too in a future DLC). 2. Be able to change parry from simbiote to spider arms (Also have recolors for symbiote parry for venom and possibly carnage). 3. Get both surges: Anti-venom and Black suit. 4. Be able to change time of day and weather. 5. New game + (Coming out in December I guess). 6. Be able to repeat All Main Missions and some Secondary ones (The Flame missions for example).
8. Add the option to choose between black web or white web (the swing one) on any suit 9. Let us choose a symbiote suit to use it in new game plus instead of regular one (the scene peter transforma first time)
Honestly they can do what they did with the spider arms, where it depends on which spider outfit you’re wearing and it changes the color of the spider legs. They can do that with the black suit since the ability is literally the same
yeah im sure these things will be in addressed in the big post launch patch....i also wish that i could control the option to turn off symbiote completely. like even when you only use all spider arm moves...the parry animation is still the symbiote
I can't wait till NG+ and the additional features requested by the fans hit early 2024!! Being able to chnage the time of day plus change color of the tendrils is a huge W! I can't wait to use the black symbiote tendrils with the black symbiote rage once again when this update comes out!
I do feel they were probably pressed for time on this one. This is just one of many smaller details that one would obviously expect to be there but isn't. For instance, this. And no new game+ or mission select, though that's coming. No podcast logs or character bio. Personally, what I find most annoying is that you can not change the time of day. After the story, you are stuck at noon forever, which SUCKS. And most of this stuff was in the previous games, so... all I can think is just not enough time to add in these details. Also, the lack of any notable changes or innovation in world design and combat also sounds like not enough time. And maybe not everyone feels the same, but after finishing the game I was left not satisfied with the story. I liked the story, I liked the game. I think it's a good enough sequel. But it just didn't have as strong of moments for me. Despite the over the top action and crazy story, it just didn't feel as impactful. I also think it needed to be a bit longer to help pace and flesh out better. I really liked this game, but I honestly liked the previous ones more. I replayed them right before this one released, so my opinions on it aren't corrupted by time or invented rose tinted glasses or anything. I just think they were a bit better. Still an awesome game though.
I think it’s due to the black suits influence in interaction with gameplay the webs are going to be black because that’s what the black suit does but they didn’t code anything in for the actual Symbiot abilities, which I’m certain they will in a future update or they could just give us, the option may be going to the settings, change it
I think giving black suit in postgame was not in schedule for launch… but they probably discussed that people would he pissed off and added near release date without any time to change the color of the moves

Yeah, it's super annoying, they'll probably do something about it in an upcoming patch, especially considering the multiple improvements made to things like the TASM 2 suit.
they said they will be releasing the option to change tendril colors as well as new game + eventually in early 2024 but I agree they should have thought about it before
Biggest complaint about this game is they never gave the black suit its own unique moveset like wos and shattered dimensions its literally just the red suit with added extra cosmetics and it makes the gameplay for symbi spiderman look obsolete
It’s probably just a mistake, I’d give the developers a little more time, games only been out a week, I’m sure(hopefully) they’ll fix it sooner or later. I would just give ‘em a little more time.
Something else I hope they add to NG+ is allowing any suit to be worn when you’re automatically switched to the Symbiote suit in missions. I’d rather it make no sense for some suits than limit us to 1 like at the end of the first game
They should just make it so that you can choose what colour tendrils you want it to be no matter what you're wearing. The same goes with the parrying animation. It's annoying how the black webbed suit (aka Tobey's spider-man) has the robotic animations when swinging. It would be nice to just choose what animations and colours you want the swinging abilities, webs, parrying, abilities, etc, to be.
Is this annoying? yes, but I wouldn't say this is an oversight, because in the abilities menu it clearly says "anti-venom" abilities which are white, and them giving us the black suit back for post game is just for cosmetic purposes, with that said I do think they should patch in a way to either change the color to black or get "venom" abilities back along with the "anti-venom" ones. Edit: the end with the goo covering the eneme being black is definitely an oversight lol

Another thing that's weird is that the game doesn't register the Black Raimi suit as a symbiote suit. All symbiote costumes (Black, Symbiote, Anti-Venom, and Classic) register as symbiote suits except for the Raimi suit. When you web swing, it's the white webs, and instead of the tendrils, it's the spider arms. The HUD stays orange instead of changing to blue too. I don't get how they screwed that up.
I hate how people argue "but the webs were white in the movie too" as if there weren't multiple scenes where Peter used a black web, example being the famous camera smash followed by "see ya chump".

The venom symbiote is not confirmed to be dead. They only destroyed the left over venom symbiote inside Peter. The rest of the symbiote may very well be alive

I think you should be able to choose what black suit appears when you switch to the "rage mode" and the other abilities like for example if you have the classic black suit selected as the symbiote the abilities powers would be black and no matter what suit you have on the rage mode would be the selected suit
I'd say the point may be that antivenom symbiote can change Pater's outlook as well. SO generally it let him look like dark venom suite but it's skill may be not affected.

I think they went fully nanotech to that… but for my headcanon my default suit to use with those iron spider arms is the anti ock suit white color

I mean, if this is the biggest oversight the devs made, we're in great shape.
I must be one of the few people that likes the way it looks. To me, it looks like the Anti-Venom powers are coming out of the central white Spider of the Black Suit, which is a good compromise for like a "headcanon" thing, where the dormant Symbiote in Pete remembers the form it took before being pacified by Mister Negative's powers, so it can "switch" to it, if Peter wills it, but of course, it IS still Anti-Venom.
The black webs and black web-splashes have to go, though. I do agree they should just give us the option to either go full Anti or Pre-Anti-Venom on the web effects, because the inconsistencies are a bother.
I'd rather they just add the black Variants of the symbiote moves in the ability section. So you can switch between white and black when you want (or mix them if you wanted)

Definitely needs to be fixed if your wearing the black variation give him black tendrils and for antivenom give us white or give us the option to switch between colors.
*There is still a moment before entering the church when a big guy with a shield appears, spider-man's web shooters will break and he will not be able to shoot a web temporarily, which is strange, because in theory when he has a symbiote on him, he shoots a black web, which is created by the symbiote itself.*

They really need to add symbiote color as an option after you get the anti-venom suit.
Something that also bothers me is that peter's air tricks have the same names as miles', so you can be performing air tricks with peter and being able to see shit like "Miles Special" popping up on your screen.
Hopefully they fix it in the big update they scheduled for December.

Theres a similar issue with the mechanical arms too. If you parry with a suit that has the arms it will use the white tendrils instead.
You could also think of it as the white spider logo doing its spider thing
The game's great and this is a very, *very* minor nitpick, but... Yah. I totally agree. I really feel like it wouldn't have taken much for Insomniac to just make the symbiote powers match the black suit. And not only that, but what if you just wanna be normal Spidey? It bugs me that in the post game, even when you have all your abilities set to the Spider Legs, Peter will still counter and stuff with Anti-Venom. It just feels weird wearing like, the classic red and blue and still have white spooge pop out of you. Again, I know these are trivial things, but it's precisely because of that that I fell it isn't asking much for some attention to detail to be applied to them... I dunno. Still an awesome product.

This is true it is a bit strange, hopefully they change it. My favorite thing though is that when you go into Symbiote Surge, it replaces your current suit with the Antivenom one if youre wearing anything but the black suit (I could be wrong havent tested everything). It also changes your abilities over to the symbiote abilities, meaning you can have all the other SpiderGadget abilities equipped and can still use the symbiote ones during surge. Its immersive af for me dont ask why lmao
Considering the devs have already implemented custom web colors depending on the suit, and custom iron spider arms depending on the suit... Id say this feature was just cut for time and is 100% getting added in one of the most recent updates we're gonna get.

I was literally talking about this rn bc I’m playing it with the symbiote surge/ evolved suit but it has the anti venom abilities I hope it updates that but also I hope that they update the symbiote surge as well what I mean is that if you’re wearing the black suit version of the symbiote that the background growls from Venom are going in affect in symbiote surge
It'd be cool if it tapered off into the white to signify that it's still a costume for the Anyi-Venom suit, but that theres a variation that makes Pete more aggressive and is all black
In theory he could emulate any color with his symbiote. They didn’t explain which abilities he keeps and which he lost.. but maybe that one he didn’t lost. Now, the agressive part is not right after taking the symbiote off even using the black suit his comments are normal to the city events npcs
I noticed that too but I do like how you turn into the anti venom suit over the other suit you’re wearing when you use symbiote surge. And the mechanical legs and look different matching their certain suits which are: superior suit, iron spider armour and the MCU iron spider suit. And when you use the web wings on the civil war suit, the wings are actually a smaller version of the MCU falcon. Pretty cool😁

Also I personally wish when using the black classic suit that the webs are kept white since that’s how it used to be. His webs were still white but they came out from the top of his hand instead.
Things the game needs for replayability:
1. Recolor in black for all symbiote abilities (including traversal) (Maybe a carnage recolor too in a future DLC).
2. Be able to change parry from simbiote to spider arms (Also have recolors for symbiote parry for venom and possibly carnage).
3. Get both surges: Anti-venom and Black suit.
4. Be able to change time of day and weather.
5. New game + (Coming out in December I guess).
6. Be able to repeat All Main Missions and some Secondary ones (The Flame missions for example).

7. Add back all the suits from Spider-Man (2018) and Spider-Man Miles Morales

Honestly they can do what they did with the spider arms, where it depends on which spider outfit you’re wearing and it changes the color of the spider legs. They can do that with the black suit since the ability is literally the same
yeah im sure these things will be in addressed in the big post launch patch....i also wish that i could control the option to turn off symbiote completely. like even when you only use all spider arm moves...the parry animation is still the symbiote
I can't wait till NG+ and the additional features requested by the fans hit early 2024!! Being able to chnage the time of day plus change color of the tendrils is a huge W! I can't wait to use the black symbiote tendrils with the black symbiote rage once again when this update comes out!
After end game that suit is purely cosmetic
I do feel they were probably pressed for time on this one. This is just one of many smaller details that one would obviously expect to be there but isn't.
For instance, this. And no new game+ or mission select, though that's coming. No podcast logs or character bio.
Personally, what I find most annoying is that you can not change the time of day. After the story, you are stuck at noon forever, which SUCKS.
And most of this stuff was in the previous games, so... all I can think is just not enough time to add in these details.
Also, the lack of any notable changes or innovation in world design and combat also sounds like not enough time.
And maybe not everyone feels the same, but after finishing the game I was left not satisfied with the story.
I liked the story, I liked the game. I think it's a good enough sequel.
But it just didn't have as strong of moments for me. Despite the over the top action and crazy story, it just didn't feel as impactful.
I also think it needed to be a bit longer to help pace and flesh out better.
I really liked this game, but I honestly liked the previous ones more. I replayed them right before this one released, so my opinions on it aren't corrupted by time or invented rose tinted glasses or anything. I just think they were a bit better.

I think it’s due to the black suits influence in interaction with gameplay the webs are going to be black because that’s what the black suit does but they didn’t code anything in for the actual Symbiot abilities, which I’m certain they will in a future update or they could just give us, the option may be going to the settings, change it
I think giving black suit in postgame was not in schedule for launch… but they probably discussed that people would he pissed off and added near release date without any time to change the color of the moves

I think that’s because gadgets are not part of Peter’s “main” shooters so they have separate web cartridges
they said they will be releasing the option to change tendril colors as well as new game + eventually in early 2024 but I agree they should have thought about it before
Biggest complaint about this game is they never gave the black suit its own unique moveset like wos and shattered dimensions its literally just the red suit with added extra cosmetics and it makes the gameplay for symbi spiderman look obsolete

It’s probably just a mistake, I’d give the developers a little more time, games only been out a week, I’m sure(hopefully) they’ll fix it sooner or later. I would just give ‘em a little more time.
Something else I hope they add to NG+ is allowing any suit to be worn when you’re automatically switched to the Symbiote suit in missions.
I’d rather it make no sense for some suits than limit us to 1 like at the end of the first game
They should just make it so that you can choose what colour tendrils you want it to be no matter what you're wearing. The same goes with the parrying animation. It's annoying how the black webbed suit (aka Tobey's spider-man) has the robotic animations when swinging.
It would be nice to just choose what animations and colours you want the swinging abilities, webs, parrying, abilities, etc, to be.

Is this annoying? yes, but I wouldn't say this is an oversight, because in the abilities menu it clearly says "anti-venom" abilities which are white, and them giving us the black suit back for post game is just for cosmetic purposes, with that said I do think they should patch in a way to either change the color to black or get "venom" abilities back along with the "anti-venom" ones.

Another thing that's weird is that the game doesn't register the Black Raimi suit as a symbiote suit. All symbiote costumes (Black, Symbiote, Anti-Venom, and Classic) register as symbiote suits except for the Raimi suit. When you web swing, it's the white webs, and instead of the tendrils, it's the spider arms. The HUD stays orange instead of changing to blue too. I don't get how they screwed that up.
I hate how people argue "but the webs were white in the movie too" as if there weren't multiple scenes where Peter used a black web, example being the famous camera smash followed by "see ya chump".

I think you should be able to choose what black suit appears when you switch to the "rage mode" and the other abilities like for example if you have the classic black suit selected as the symbiote the abilities powers would be black and no matter what suit you have on the rage mode would be the selected suit

I'd say the point may be that antivenom symbiote can change Pater's outlook as well. SO generally it let him look like dark venom suite but it's skill may be not affected.
