I didn’t know you could even call off a race due to shit driving.
Apparantly you can.
Clerk of the course has a responsibility to keep all spectators, drivers and Marshalls safe and it was getting too dangerous Worked at a go kart track about 10 years ago and we had to do it one time for a group that came as they couldn’t stop spinning and crashing at every corner. We even pulled him into the pits and said if the driving didn’t improve that would be the end of their race. Went back out and five minutes later it got called off.
@@BRMdrivingschool I mean I could forgive a race needing to be called off in karting with presumably little kids or tipsy dudes in their 20's.
For an F3 race this is shocking, aren't these drivers attempting to make it into F1?
@@Jumpboy5100 I am not sure anyone would like to see that kind of shitty driving in F1. Those who caused the race to be called off didn't even fit F3 standards. That was Playstation levels of driving :p
@@BRMdrivingschool Ill wager that a "Go Kart" track is in no way comparable to an Multi Million dollar event with Tens of Millions in currency invested by Fans, Vendors and Teams.. As a "Clerk of course" or go kart track manager, This should have been fixed with a smaller field and more heat races. Drivers can only do so much with what they are provided at any given venue. Its not like wrecking their Ride is the preferred outcome. But, it happens. Thats Racing, be it go carts or F1. After all, the Hunger and Numbers of the surrounding competition delegates what one must do to Stay Competitive. If the Field is tight And chocked full of KNOWN inexperience, Who is at fault? The organizers tried to put too many Hungry drivers and vehicles onto way too little real-estate for the Largest possible Profit in the shortest possible time, As always.. So, they cut off a full 3rd of an event and came out financially ahead by that margin or more. Or, as a way to Protect them selves as you say but..LOL., Thats just saying They didn't want to be called out for Knowingly placing a herd of green horns in a paddock and not expecting trouble and wanted to Profit as much as possible in the end. I place my bets on the organizers bowing out based on greed as The Known Knowns of Inexperience, were already Known.
How odd is it that this event, notable for being canceled due terrible driving, is also probably one of the most *stacked* I've seen in terms of talent, even when compared to years past or years in the future. Formula E race winners in Gunther and Rosenqvist, a whole bunch of F1 drivers like Albon, Russell, Stroll, Leclerc, Giovinazzi and Pietro Fittipaldi, notable F2 drivers like Ilott, Maini and Sette Camara, and even a few names with achievements in other disciplines, like Petit Le Mans winner Mikkel Jensen.

I actually don't see a difference between the F1 Playerbase without the dirty Driver and this Driver Lineup in this video
Full story behind this (There were three races per meeting in this F3 Euro Championship) :
Race 2 was red flagged at lap 14/19, as there were so many SC triggering incidents that not enough time was left to finish the race (only 2.20 min remaining for 5 laps), so continuing it was pointless.
This resulted in all drivers receiving a collective warning by stewards during the pre-race 3 meeting.
Still, Race 3 again had a start crash involving Ryan Tveter and Fabian Schiller. Officials were getting angry at ths point and radioed the remaining drivers to mind their behaviour on the track or else the race would be stopped for good.
On lap 6 however, there was another incident, as Lance Stroll and Mikkel Jensen collided.
Officials cancelled the race three laps later, and as a result, Races 2 and 3 only paid half-points to their scoring drivers due to FIA rules.
Stefano Domenicali, who back then was the Single Seater Commission president for FIA, was reportedly "furious" about the racing standards after this weekend.
Fun fact: Later in that same season, at Spa, Stroll was handed a one race ban after again crashing with Jensen, also collecting Felix Rosenqvist in the process. XD
And yet Stroll still got into f1 thanks to daddy's money
@@jimcrelm9478 yep, and now he's more or less on par with 4 times champ, money can't buy it. He only bought more time to learn, can't blame him.

5:35 thank god for tire tethers
Yes, it reminds me of Monza 2000 when a marshall died due to a flying wheel
@@giulianosarti656 Which is the incident that mandated wheel tethers in F1 for 2001 onwards-only (as an incredible twist of fate) for yet another marshal to be killed by a wheel in Melbourne 2001 (wasn't the tether's fault though, horrible luck as that wheel was punched through a marshal post's opening and the weight of the flying car ripped the tether instantly, nothing could have prevented that)...
Still the tether as well could be a reason of death of driver if the wheel bounce back into his head. So there is always some space for bad luck unfortunately...
