UNI5 had some really dope cuts that were left off the album. Ball was dropped by whomever chose the tracks, IMO. Even with their energy not being right, according to Lay, they still recorded some high quality tracks. Hoping a new 5 man can be done and done right for their 30 year anniversary.
I swear I've been saying that since 2010......if bone would've put tracks like game ain't ready OG version, no mas, murder on U, cradle 2 the grave, what have we done, let yourself go Uni5 could've easily been a top 3 bone album if those tracks was released instead of bs tracks like gone and wanna be

Uni 5 had a dope sound and felt good to have all 5. I know a lot of folks who love bone was expecting uni 5 to be another E.1999 as in raw thug shit. But in my eyes it was a dope album.

Uni5 had some really dope cuts that didn't make the album but also the original version of songs were insane. For example Rebirth version at Think Tank was bananas, Debt To Society was so DOPE

The Group also didn't have Steve Lobel around that time unlike every other album and tour they did prior. Bobby Francis was just a big buffoon who just didn't help them at all. They could have stayed on Interscope as all 5 and would have sold another Platinum album, they still would have had the budget for better videos, promo, and features. It's Krayzies fault too because he was on Bobby Francis side.

I talked to him a lot during the CTD release and he was a straight bully and thought he was suge knight and I hung up on his ass for just being ignorant and demeaning. We need to hear a rundown of what happened between Resurrection and Thug World Order because solo albums changed, Thug World Order originally had alot of different songs cut and was also titled "Independence Day". Talk about how they almost sued Ruthless and tried going independent pre maturely in 2001.

I liked Uni5. “Only God Can Judge Me” & “Facts Don’t Lie” is my shit! I remember I had just got home from one of my tours in Iraq, and I went back home to Cleveland. I was bumping that joint the whole time I was there.
Revisiting the Uni-5 album you can actually hear exactly what Lay was saying in this interview. For one Waner Bros had their fingers all in the project making it sound less like a Bone album than something generic from their minds. For one there were a lot of introduced vocals in many of their tracks, usually followed by a couple of bars from each member. To me, it sounds more like a fan-made mix than the organic unified sound we are accustomed to by Bone. Simply put, most of the tracks didn't even sound like they were in the same room much less on the same page. Even on my favorite track "Only god can judge me" to be honest, it sounds more like a Krazie Bone solo project with the others as features, plus the music mix sounds too studio and overproduced. The same can be said about another of my favorite on the album "My Life" Again the beat production sounds cookie cutter and vanilla, something that could have been easily fixed by a dj remix and I bet if all five were there recording the song live it would have sounded much better and organic, now compare this with "Crossroads" a song that had real two/three-part harmony and each member interacting with each other, plus Bizzy energy just wasn't there, it sounded like he just mailed it in, this is vital because Bone is best when Bizzy and Krazie energy is feeding off each other.
"Gone" drops the ball by having Ricco Barrion sing the hook with Krazie instead of having Bizzy do it, again making it feel disjointed and production rather than an actual Bone song. To me, the best song on the album should have been "Universe" a dope track reminiscent of the days of the Furious Five, but once again the ball was dropped by the beat production, which seems to drain the energy from the song. I'd love to hear them remix the song with a faster, more energetic, uptempo beat.
That's it for now, but I still love the album even though I have to remix it in my mind and wonder how great it could have been if done correctly.

Big Court is one of the best doing interviews. Man I got my first Bone tape in like 96 at a local thrift store, was a dollar and all I had money for, I was pretty young. It was a U-neek remix tape, Thuggish Ruggish Bone Uneek mix over the E1999 instrumental is amazing (search: "Thuggish Ruggish Bone (U-Neek Mix E.1999 Style)". I didn't care for the Uni5 album, which I was hyped for, just wasn't into the overall sound of it. The "Facts Don't Lie" track is decent though.

Uni5 was Bone’s worst album. It doesn’t matter the dope songs that were cut. The fact that they recorded songs that weren’t Bone thugs type music, My Life, Gone, and Every time ruined this album.
Pay what They Owe is the best song in the album. Lightweight reminds me of some Art Of War type song.

It was that dude Bobby Francis that fucked everything up. A bunch of tracks got leaked because of him, so they had to change the track list. Business was awful

flesh had always been the member to kinda stick to the older e99 type of beats, for me personally i was like ok flesh is going to get these dudes to finally go back to the old albums. but the music was just awful on most of that album. lyrics were good but again it was just another flop in production. i like the dark style bone. i would of loved to hear lord infamous and flesh bone do a duo album. most of my cleveland friends who love bone havent listened to them in prob nearly 20 years because their beats took such a u-turn into a whole other realm
