That has to be the greatest rowcrop tractor ever made. That cab was a lifesaver during peanut harvest. Most farmers in my area were loyal to Ford but the 4430 changed that in the 70's.

The farm where my Dad worked in Devon ( UK ) got a 4230 Quad range to replace their 4020 after trying a Ford 8600 which they hated, especially the noisy Hara cab. The 4230 cost £7000 which would have bought a small farm at the time. The tractor in the vid has 4 rib front tyres but strangely the 4230 came from the factory with single ribs which wore out in a couple of months. The rears were Firestone gum dipped low angles which were a disaster on wet grass but a pair of Goodyears fixed that !

We have a 1977 4430 we bought in the early 80's from the original owner.
It is still our primary tractor. Back in the day it was a big tractor now it's too small for most farming operations around us. We originally mold board plowed with a720 5/18 international plow then transitioned to disc chisel then no till. We were dairy so the tractor pulled a john deere 3970 chopper, logged slot of hours pumping manure and did all tillage. Now transitioned to broilers in 2015 so it hauls litter with a 22 ft litter spreader and pulls a 1590 john deere no till drill. It has the power shift transmission. It had a major overhaul at 7200 hours, still has original paint . Has been an excellent tractor and still remains the only tractor we own with a cab so of course as I get older I find myself using it more even for lighter work. Thanks for all the videos they are greatly appreciated. We are in farm country in Lebanon county Pennsylvania.

Why not install a chopper on your harvester? It would save a hell of alot of time and fuel and do a better job than what that mower does. How long would it take to mow a 500 acre paddock like this? Why not just go no-till and save even more time and money ? Each to their own though I guess. That 4430 Johny’s main competitors would’ve been the 1070 or 1270 Case, the 1066 Inter and the 1150 Massey. The JD sound gaurd cabs were far better than any of the others. But the Inters were far better looking than all of them. If it aint red, yada, yada, yada.🤣

I did a lot of moleboard ploughing, if there was a lot of rubbish (residue) to bury, I had a 4 metre flail topper mounted on the front 3 point linkage & 1000 pto, my plough was 5 furrows, reversable, ploughing 12 inch deep and 18 inch furrow width, my tractor was a JD 6920 cvt, this was in the UK.

Very nice set up. The 6920 is a cool tractor. Unfortunately it was not sold in North America. The 7520 was sold here in that size.

@@bigtractorpower 7520&7530 were sold in UK, we I got a new 7530, it was a heap of #+8t, I got back on my 69, it had 15000+ hours on the clock when cvt give up working, to replace cvt would cost more than the tractor was worth.

Trade our 1977 4430 powershift FWA with loader for a 2006 Case MXM 190 FWD loader. Very big mistake the Case MXM was worked on more than any tractor we had. Miss the 4430 luckily the neighboring farm bought it so it isn't to far out of sight.

They do not build tractors like they used to. I know of a situation where a farmer traded an IH 1456 on a Case IH 140A Farmall. The Dealer advised him not to do that saying that even though they have the same horsepower they were not the same tractor The dealer advised him not to do that saying that even though they were not the same tractor.

I enjoy your videos, but commercial breaks every 2-3 minutes make them very hard to watch.

The 4430 tractors are junk the updated 4440 unit was a 100 percent better. Engine was hard to get started n transmission n final drive always failed prematurity. Buy the 4440 you will happier.

It is his tractor. Two things here. One the county graded the road and took out the farm entrance. At the end he kicked it up in the loop to knock the mud off the tires before heading out on the road .
