The difference in power consumption is staggering !
4060 is better by like 15% , sips almost half the power and has better RT performance only downside is the 8gb memory
Has better textures compression AI 242 TOPS vs 102 TOPS. Big cache L2.

DLSS is the point of the card and it's very cheap for its performance. If you want more performance buy the 4090ti
About the 192/128 bit:
"Games don't saturate the 288GB/s bus bandwidth. The memory bus has been a talking point for people to talk down on the 4060 but not one but of evidence shows 288GB/s worth of data moving across the bus. The PCIe slot count doesn't matter really either because the card doesn't saturate 16GB/s bandwidth over PCIe. Nvidia has a free tool (Nvidia Compute) that lets you see GPU utilization, including memory bandwidth. You can use something like Libre Hardware Monitor to see PCIe throughput. Most graphics cards don't use more than 16GB/s until they're dealing with 4k video.
People in general love to talk about the bus width yet there's no evidence that it's even close to being saturated. I just find it interesting how when people talk about the performance of a GPU, they have benchmarks of framerates to go off of, but there's absolutely no evidence of the bus being saturated. When we compare memory performance, we have IOPS, framerate, and throughput to back our statements. Why can't we have throughput for memory bus claims :("
So the vram havent that much to say after all? People now days want to future proof with 16gb and think 12gb would be minimal soon. Should think the 12gb gave more fps then the new 8gb? Looks like it’s not easy to tell. 8gb seems still strong and deliver ultra 1440p still.
V-ram isnt compute it just allows the gpu to run at its full potential in heavier v-ram intensive games.

im leaning towards the 3060 12gb. just because you will benefit more from the extra 4gbs of vram on rendering, and livestreaming. but my answer wont be the same if you prioritize gaming more than rendering.

The point is that if you have the 3060 already It is a waste to upgrade to the 4060, the direct upgrade, because it is just not worth spending 350$/€ for a slightly better card. I think you should wait for a 5060 then, or pay much more and buy a 4080

I bought a VGA RTX 3060 12GB in new condition 1 week ago, I didn't use additional cooling, when I played games for about 1-2 hours, in some games the temperature reached 80-85°. Is this normal for some VGAs in new condition? As long as I played there were no problems with FPS drops or lag

i have a prebuilt pc w rtx3060 12gb i5 12400f 16gb 3200mhz win 11 and get 80+ all the time w 87celsius at maximum temp(if i lower the fps during games i lower the temp to ofcourse and in some games i do this due to not needing more then 75fps on my 75hz screen)
But getting over 80 selcius is normal for me in newer game titles and 70c+ in older and i guess it also depends on the fans u have in desktop(i guess)
as far as i undrstand u should only get worried if tem goes up to around 90celsius due to not being a amd gpu that seems to handle temp better

Interesting, that 3060 using more pc RAM. But in general, almost the same card, just "future proofness of 12gb VRAM" vs -60w to the electricity bill.

As I always thought, vram doesn't matter that much, but the GPU itself matters a lot. It's like ram and CPU, if you have 8gb of ram with a weak CPU vs 4gb of ram with a stronger CPU.

so I dont get it I was watching videos of benchmark to compare what desktop graphics card would be compare to my rtx 4070 laptop graphics card but on cyberpunk it gets less frames then a 4060 ti it seems but on the witcher 3 it gets more ? this is crazy. with this same settings I get over a 100 frames but no cyberpunk the results are different comparing to this graphics cards. Why ? note this is in 1080p for anyone reading this. so like on palworld it is like a 3060 it seems but on the witcher 3 it surpasses a 4060 ti and on cyber punk it doesnt surpass neither. then on resident evil 4 it is more on par between a 3060 to a 4060 I am really confuse
laptop graphics cards are different in performance compared to their PC counterpart, regardless if they have the same gpu name

for video rendering ect. yes. 12gb is a massive advantage
4060 is only better for streaming because of the av1 encoder other than that the 3060 is the better choice if u don't care about that, I just ordered a 4060 yesterday and i plan to stream with it (coming from a 1650 btw)

you should know the definition of VRAM first to understand this.
Some unoptimized games/super intensive games use more than 8GB VRAM
RTX 4060 is 15% faster than RTX 3060
but in some games that require more than 8GB of VRAM, it will stutter on some area that is intensive.
Example of games that is unoptimized properly: RE4 Remake that is in this video, even though the graphic is not that good but it uses more than 8GB of VRAM causes RTX 4060 to stutter.
but you can always disable/lower some settings to lower VRAM usage (such as depth of field/motion blur/etc)
if you have the budget RTX 4070 is the sweet spot right now or wait for 50xx series, but my RTX 4060 is good enough for me.
if you play on 1080p max or 1440p veryhigh to max RTX 3060/RTX4060 is enough
if you uses RT on every games, you should use DLSS on RTX 3060/RTX 4060 which sacrifice the sharpness of the image.

Makes absolutely no sense, if anything turning dlss frame gen on will favour the 4060. This is how you properly benchmark, by testing the raw performance without dlss, frame gen, which are all software addons

Look at any gpu benchmark and they will have it running at native resolution without any of these software stuff, I’m not saying dlss or frame gen is bad, it’s just meant to be turned off when comparing 2 graphics cards to be as fair as possible

@@JegsTV they're not, just go to the same planet and find similar areas, use the same stratagems each recording and it will be close enough, we just wanna see HD2 performance bro its not side by side deep lol. if you want a similar areas just go balls deep into a large bug hive in both sessions, wont only be hectic, but is probably pretty intensive too.
Lol nope. its impossible to do a format like this on helldivers. Even if youre on the same planet the areas will be vastly different everytime you deploy. The only way you can do a side by side frame comparison on this game is on the ship or in tutorials. Which is not representative of game performance.

@@user-on9hi9in3u AMD hasn't had any big driver issues since 2019, the 4060 equivalent is the RX 7600/7600 XT but if you can find them in stock the 6700 XT and 6750 XT are also great value and similair in price.

People talk so much sh!t they don't know. More vRAM doesn't mean more performance. It's about how fast it is processed + the 4060 counts with DLSS 3 which is straight up magic on performance gains. xx60 cards are not meant for 4K or 2K gaming but 1080p so there's also no reason for more than 8GB.

@@aewmeu yeah it overflows. doesnt mean it will stutter outright because its only 8gb of vram. the game automatically reduces the texture according to the vram amount you have.
Benchmark actual pc games please like eve online, knights of the old republic, star craft and so on, not crappy 1080p consoles we all know how these games look and so7nd in 4k now, Benchmark the master race gaming now. Legitimate pcngames only that you cant play on consoles, if yo7 want to Benchmark console games do it on an xbox or Playstation. Wasting everyone time these garbage low end games for benchmarks.

It isn't scaling that much like how upper tire of 40 series GPU does like 4070 super compete with 3090 also it's not worth upgrading who already have 3060 12GB on their build. In my country power consumption doesn't really matter that much so it's not worth the upgrade.
