New German film 'He's Back' features Hitler in modern times - Daily Mail

- Oliver Masucci, who plays the Nazi leader in 'He's Back' ('Er ist wieder da'), a biting social satire by author Timur Vermes, was welcomed with open arms as he filmed scenes dressed as Hitler in Berlin - casting a worrying light on growing support for right-wing extremism in the country. The film, based on a book of the same name, intersperses fiction with real-life documentary style footage as it imagines the dictator finding himself suddenly in 21st century. It has got people in Germany talking as the country prepares to welcome hundreds of thousands of refugees.

Amazing film. The way I see it, every country had a hitler… I’d assume if you take a rope tier position or a country, your pretty much hitler. Be it a Stalin, Mao, Churchill, Mussolini. Or whoever. We can speed up to the present and say the same things. At the end of the day, the disenfranchised will always point a finger at someone successful, the powerless to those with power, those living in the past to those living in the present. The film comes off strong because it incapsulates a simple vision. A man named hitler who was confident on his views because he educated himself and decided on a solid understanding. He took ownership, responsibility, and faced the music. Thus his understanding of himself comes off charismatic and confident. And 99.9% of people lack those simple traits. The trait to be honest with ones self and thus those around him or her. To say I’m the problem and I will find a solution, regardless of it being ones fault or not… dope movie

Everything but the dog scene is funny and I disagree with that artistic choice, if the director wanted to appear unbiased or subjective or whatever you wouldn't show Hitler, an animal rights activist and environmentalist and vegetarian , abusive towards animals? It doesn't make sense and also pulls you out of the suspense of disbelief. Some scenes looked just like Hitler in modern times , but that one just stood out to me.
