@@reneesimerale people living continiously on mars that's still far from our reach , its a possible senario we maybe can do it , but its realy unlikely and its gonna be challenging and as Elon musk said people are gonna die on mars , so we should figure out how to protect them , I think first mission to mars will be just quick visits we're not gonna settle there not in 21 or 22 or 23 century

This is a hellava thing you put together, man. Chronological, ultra detailed, primarily sourced. This had to take a lot of research and input. People like you put multi-million dollar media companies to absolute shame
That's so sad. I could watch curiosity all day. I want nothing more than to see video footage of Aliens finding curiosity on Mars, feeling bad, and fixing its wheels and putting it back online. Maybe even giving an upgrade, then of course a selfie. I hope we go back, take me with!

One of the best documentaries I've ever seen in my 70 years. Thank goodness for a very pleasant human voice - I'm too old to appreciate a computer generated voice. Your script is easy to follow and the descriptions of each picture isn't overly technical for us lay people. It was fun to follow the progress on the map screens, which look very similar to maps generated by my phone GPS when I go for a walk. Looking forward to watching your other creations!!!

I have loved all documentary about space and the planets like mars . it all started in 5 grade when a man from nasa came to are school back 1966 i was hooked and will never forget that day the rovers are amazing the fact that we can build them and land them on mars is just mind blowing to me . l hope i live long enough to see the first man to land on mars that would be awesome . thanks . maine .

Thanks for this! This has got to be the best documentary on Mars rover exploration that I have seen yet. Curiosity has been my favorite because this was the mission that really excited me about exploration of Mars.

21:26 - how on earth is that a selfie when the entire rover is visible ? How was that picture taken ?
It's a composite image. The rover got an arm with a camera and shot several photos that they put together.

YES, that is the question. My best guess (and what I think hmgrraarr is saying) is that it's a composite/mosaic and they "plastered" over the arm's image with images of those same shots that were taken at times the arm did not go through there. (

@@lealand2601 I think it’s likely we will but unfortunately I don’t think we can say the same for Spirit and Opportunity they have both been decommissioned too long and the Martin winds have likely destroyed them both they are probably still there but not fixable or preservable they also were not as durable and strong

This is one of the most vain robots I have ever seen. Always taking selfies. To bad it doesn't have ChatGTP installed learning everything it can learn while exploring, and have it connect to it's own twitter, facebook accounts so it can chat directly with people outside of Nasa. Who knows what it would say. Also have it talk to itself while driving around, and you can listen in on how it oh, and ah's over the sunset. Could be scary but very entertaining.

What I wish they would've done was send it out several satellites to bounce live feed video signal back to NASA so they can in a small delay operate curiosity in "real time". I'm sure eventually they'll end up doing that.

Wow what pictures of Mars! It's like you're actually there. It's amazing how scientists engineer these rovers to take and then process soil samples on another world. I hope I live to see the first successful manned mission to Mars.
China is stealing everything we are doing no matter inherent onEarth or wherever and then they will complete all we have done without putting a cent into all of costs our Country has invested so far into our successful exploration of Mars but our Country will never give up and succeed in this never stoping process and I will support our fantastic Scientists and engineer's!!
