What an absolute blast thank you for having me on your channel Dan! It was a ton of fun, until the next time !

-Tiffany for men
-Guerlain Derby

-Cacharel per L'Homme by cacharel

I'm afraid of Bel Ami's animalics, otherwise it would have been in my collection long ago.
@@JT-rx1eo i think jean claude ellenas bel ami vetiver has more animalics with his inclusion of civet over normal bel ami. Just dont wear it in summer and it is a top 5 frag of all time to me...
@@RamseytheRam ...and I was thinking of getting Bel Ami Vetiver because it would be less animalic and more modern. I like Hermés. I really like Equipage even though the animalic is turned up in that one (the brilliant cinnamon seems to mitigate it greatly). Maybe I'll get a sample decant of Bel Ami and try. I would live it as part of my collection but I'm getting more careful about the animalics.
Nice list, I'd like to add Dunhill Edition 😎
@@HBLW1975 never sniffed it.. i will put it on my to sniff list .. cheers
Scents of South Jersey is my favourite Fragrance reviewer. This is going to be good 👏🏻
Thanks Gaz.
*appears from thin air*
You're welcome Dan

The masculine norm of today is what they in the 70's and early 80's called a flamboyant puff!
Nailed it.
80s was the BEST decade ever, thats why i got a ton of vintage 80s scents...wearing Kouros 1982 batch rigth now....Kouros was ART....you had to be there to fully understand what Kouros YSL ment and created in perfumery in that decade....and yeah Santos carties is a true jewel.........
Great video guys! Always enjoy Kelans fragrance choices! There are too many great fragrances from the 80’s. I would love to see a part 2
What I like about Kelan’s reviews are the variety for vintage classic colognes and rarities that anyone seems to have forgotten about. Killer duo 🤘!!
My dad had Kouros, Antaeus, Jules, Drakkar, Obsession, Fahrenheit, and Cool Water. I think those are easily the big 7 of the 80's.
Kellan is one of the best experts on vintage fragrances out there. Everyone should follow his awesome channel! #pacorabanneforeva
Love his channel! The best vintage channel though is Ramsey. He even dose perfumer portfolios.. and something called "this year in fragrance" where he goes over the fragrances that were famous that year. And lots of vintage versus modern comparisons. If you haven't seen his channel please check him out I love supporting the small channels
Really great collaboration ! You can truly see Kelan is really passionate about this.
You guys are great. Been watching Kelan’s channel since he started. I truly love the classics over today’s fragrances they are putting out and thanks to Kelan, most of his suggestions I end up purchasing and love.
Vermeil by John Louis is supposed to be very similar to davidoff by davidoff and very affordable on eBay. That is the next one I am going to purchase since davidoff is a little above my price range. Great job guys keep doing great work!
Mr smelly 1977 and Scents South Jersey , my opinion , THE BEST . numbers one. ¡Thanks!.
Ramsey is number one
Wonderful video !!! I loved it. Thank you guys !
I have to try Roger & Gallet Open.....Hugo Boss Sport...and Davidoff Original.
Dior Jules has been on my want list for awhile.
Love this vintage videos. I remember being a kid in the 80’s and having a lot of those little samples that came in the magazines of my mother and wearing them to school. So many of them were amazing. Too bad I was a kid and don’t remember their names. I know one of them used to smell very green like when you crushed a lemon or an orange three leaf 🍃 and the perfume liquid itself was a light green. I wish I could remember its name. Great videos. I truly enjoy your channel. 👍
I really appreciate that kind of stuff, hope to see more from other decades 🥰👍
Loved it gentlemen!!! xo Lisa
Drakkar noir long reigning King way ahead of it's time doesn't smell dated still gets me many compliments. Thanks to Kelan👍 Open and Open black are powerful projecting and long lasting. From the 80s may I add and I can't believe Kelan missed since he reviewed it Bijan man it's a beast
Great list guys. I used to love Sergio Tacchini vintage 1987
Inspector Gadget! Punky Brewster! Jon Bon Jovi! Rambo! Prince....Rocky....Madonna...Raiders of the lost ark...Whos the boss....Ronald Reagan...Smufs...Star wars...Transformers i think...Cabbage Patch Kids...Nice review Dan! Figured i would try to name all them Characters Michael Jackson! ice ice baby! Nice review Dan! Actually Dan Kelan is a darn good reviewer! I am sold on watching him....
What a team! Outstanding video!
Great to see kouros getting it's due. It's complex, muscular but has real balance that always gives me new sense of what it is when I wear it. Masterpiece
only vintage tough, charles of the ritz or parfums corp, the rest is acceptabele but not art.
@@MultiMrMiles i really love the Gucci era. Civet, honey, patchouli and jasmine. Miles apart from the current powdery sweaty fougere it is.
Love it when Kelan comes on, fantastic content!
Fantastic discussion gents, some real greatest hits there. 👍🏻
If anyone's interested in smelling the original 1974 "Drakkar", pick up the Al Rehab "Dakkar" for next to nothing... it's pretty darn close to the original juice.
I know that they sell it in a roll-on oil and a spray. I buy both and layer the spray over the roll-on and get around a six hour projection.
Cheers
Somebody here didn't have Santos? Come on Dan :). Buy the concentré version, you won't regret it.
Nice job! My 80's scents in chronological order: Stetson, Blue Stratos, Kanon, Houbigant - Musk, Chanel - Pour Monsieur, Lagerfeld, Chanel - Pour Monsieur EDT Concentrée,
Chanel - Antaeus, Givenchy - Xeryus, Hugo Boss - Number One Black, Colors De Benetton Man.
Very enjoyable video guys, please go ahead with the '70s and the '90s, it would be very interesting for sure! P.S. here in Italy it's no '80s without Atkinsons Rockford!!
i was a teenager during the 80s and that's when I knew I would be a fraghead for life, wearing fagrances is part of who i am as a man and these 10 were the ones for me that really left a mark in no particular order 1 Jacomo by Jacomo 2 Santos by Cartier 3 Ebene by Pierre Balmain 4 Trussardi Uomo 5 Armani Pour Homme 6 Cerruti Fair Play 7 Feraud Pour Homme 8 Givenchy Xeryus 9
Iquitos by Alain Delon 10 Dior Fahrenheit. i have tried all in your list and i will say Covetti and Boss are my fav in your list great job!!!!!
Santos du Cartier deserves love guys!!! Please talk about it more ❤️
I remember blue stratos and paco rabbanne from my father's collection.
Two legendary releases.
Wonderful collaboration video. I really enjoy both of your channel content .. thank you. I’m 52 and the 80s was when I started to wear my own fragrance choices: I think my very first ones were Canoe by Dana and Pierre Cardin . Have a great day.
Superb stuff
No one on planet earth uses more juice than Kelan. He is one of the only fragrance reviewers on You Tube that shows his bottles and have massive dents in. Gives me confidence that he is doing more than just a sample. I recon he uses 20ml a day.
Mr Smelly has picked a quality reviewer for discussing classics scents.
You two guys are top of the tree for classics.
This was a niiice video! Thanks..
The more I smell it, the more I like Sport de Paco Rabanne. It's really underrated, probably because it must have been discontinued a long time ago and it's become expensive. I was lucky enough to get it and a full sized bottle of Jazz Prestige bundled together last year for a really nice price. At first I didn't really take to the Paco Rabanne, but it's actually really nice and it's way different from your average sport fragrance.
Open Roger an Gallet is 👌👌👌
Its so nice espacialy in winter time👍
the best reviewers of classic cologne. Full stop.
I used to wear Open back in the day. it's great fragrance.
Riviera nights is also a good fragrance from Jaques bogart..spicy cardamom and well blended for something so cheap
I have the vintage 1989 Drakkar Noir its fantastic scent.
Great show! Drakkar Noir was the first fragrance I bought because my cousin used it and it smelled fantastic its definitely 80's in a bottle. I learned a lot from the conversation thanks to you and Scents of SJ.
I remember my father having Tabac and Mandate, I think they are 80's 🤔. My 1st fragrance was YSL Jazz in black n white bottle, not sure if that was early 90's😬
Kalen is great love his channel 👍
One Man Show is the ultimate scent of the 80's in my books.
I'm glad someone can stand YSL Kouros. I smelled it on paper for the first time a few weeks ago and I had low expectations. I thought during the initial Spray that it might not be that bad. But as expected it started to dry down to awful. It smells like a dead animal with any generic fragrance sprayed on it to mask its smell. That's the problem with many 70's and 80's frags - too animalic. I have Versace L'homme (1986) and that bucket of cat piss will sit in my "historical collection" without much wearing. Like 1974's Givenchy Gentleman. Myself and scents of New Jersey have differing tastes, although I like vintage fragrances. My top 1980's fragrances (in my collection):
1. Creed Bois du Portugal
2. Floris Elite
3. Creed Green Irish Tweed
4. CK Obsession for Men
5. Drakkar Noir
6. Davidoff Zino
7. YSL Jazz
8. Dior Farenheit
9. Cool Water
10. Givenchy Xeryus
11. Armani Eau Pour Homme
Ralph Lauren Polo Green was launched in 1978 so even though it was "an 80's frag" I didn't consider it (it's my overall #1). Same with Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne which was launched in 1979.
Nostalgic 80's
Really love parfums corp kouros as opposed to Sanofi, both are great but the older parfums corp has a beautiful sharp singe smell on the top which cuts the warm smoothness throughout the wear of it. This singe is almost gone in the Sanofi version, still great.
Great job gentlemen, always enjoy Kelans takes!
Kelan is a class act.
I wear Zino since 1980...... Great stuff.... hahaha
davidoff classic, the made in france version is imo the nicest
I'm looking for a similar scent as the 1994 Hugo Boss Elementos(dark brown bottle with part of bottle looking like engraved rock). Is there any very close scent nowadays? Thank you
You haven't got the amount of evergreen trees we have in America. Imagine as a kid, climbing the pine trees, oozing their resins all over your hands. Or hiking in the American Mountainside.
The 80’s were dominated by Calvin Klein Obsession and Drakar Noir. Literally EVERY man, from teen to adult, wore those two fragrances! They were stunners! 🤩
Either those or Kouros or Antaeus and even Dior Jules.
Bad ass episode I am sure.
Kalen bringing out the secret weapons! Open, Enrico Coveri, Santos!
My first was
Paco rebanne
Kouros
Boss
Fahrenheit
Jazz
Azzaro
Dunhill
Kelan has that Tom Ellis Lucifer vibe 😏
I’ll have to google that!
I know right! He also looks like the Middle eastern/Mediterranean stereotype from Family Guy
M7 Splash-game over!
Love the 80 s
Davidoff I wish a stil good get it 👌
Jules is very similair to Halston wich still availeble 👍
And Alain Delon and iquitos no where to find anymore😢😢
Jill Sander Man also great,I miss it 😪
Dan hope your watching ufc 264 brother!
90's next
pliz
new vide 4 for life
Kouros ❤️🥰
This is fan dabby dosey
Ted Lapidus was a winner!
Where’s Antaeus Pour Homme? The best men’s fragrance ever?
Drakkar... Noir... 🧔♂
Im sorry but i like one man show gold edition.
Buy Gravitas Pour Homme here: naughtonandwilson.com/
Exactly, Family Guy ruined Drakar Noir haha
The 80’s were NOT dominated by Calvin Klein Obsession & Drakar Noir. / You been misinformed!
The internet didn't exist 🤔 goodness the dark ages.
