- This is the second part to the Shoe and Laundry Storage Bench build. Here I hang a French cleat with no visible fasteners and make four coat hooks. The coat hooks are segmented wood turned circles that mount to the French cleat.

ending was brilliant, kids are the same across the globe, love your projects Frank thanks for sharing
That bit at the end with the kids coming home is great.
I'd would have like to have seen Frank walking the kids back into the room to pick their crap up ;)
Doubling down with a French cleat being supported by French cleats ,,, I love it.
Just had to laugh right out loud at the end with the kids merrily announcing they are home and everything hitting the floor.
Well done Mr. Frank.
Charlie
Thanks, I thought about calling it Double French Cleat
frank howarth NO. Call it Cleatception!
Yo Dawg, I heard you like French cleats...
Frank, I follow many woodworking tutorial/innovators but i have truly become fascinated with primarily watching your channel. Your attention to the everyday lifestyle kind of woodworker and the family touch you put into the videos are really cool and what sets this channel apart. Dont stop doing what you do.
+Bill Glass Thanks Bill
I agree, Bill.
Frank, if you ever run low on ideas for your own projects... don't hesitate to drag someone else who's work you admire into your studio; it would be every bit as informative and entertaining to see other craftsman's work through your storytelling lens and narration. Extremely good channel... as good as anything on PBS.
The ending is too true, lol. Good job Frank!
As an carpenter, i have to say, you are carpenter-jesus. You are doing god's work here. Love your channel!
Yep, that final scene is about right! Nice job as always Frank.
Your videos are so fun, but mellow to watch. You have such a cool, calm spirit. Your videos always relax me somehow, and the professionalism is on point. I love how you smoothly speak us through the details of your projects.
As usual, great job Frank, but I especially love the ending with the kids. Just like when my grand kids visit. lol
I like this idea a lot! As far as sunlight being too harsh, go with stained glass windows if you can! Ancient technology that can't be beat. Just like gutters or French cleats! I also do appreciate you sharing how your children are just like mine, in that they don't have time to put things away, no matter how hard you've tried to make it easy for them. ;)
You have a great sense of style and design, you're a top notch craftsman, and have an extraordinary talent for video making and story telling. I can't praise your work enough. Bravo sir, well done!
It's nice to see that the overhang on the tall cabinet matches the cleat. In the last video it seemed a bit out of place, but it's a lot more coherent now. Great video as always.
Absolutely brilliant video Frank, many thanks!
Another quality project. Well done Frank.
I enjoyed this video completely, especially the part with your kids dropping their bags and jackets. I'm sure mine would do the same thing.
Foget the beautiful wood work...it's the ending that says it all! LOL Cheers Frank. Another entertaining video.
Nice work as always! Cleats on cleats, cool idea. Thanks for sharing.
Love the last bit where the kids are being kids. I had to laugh LOL. Great job Frank
Your videos are great, your projects are great, you're great Frank
Yes. Extremely practical and extremely beautiful. Nice work Frank.
I love the attention to detail you put into the editing job. Really great.
Really enjoying your videos Frank. Please keep them coming!!
certainly you are making some of the best wood working video out there!
You are incredible, never stop these videos!
Frank, You have such a talent of making simple look elegant.
Another stellar project and video. You do both so well. Thanks.
Great work frank, it looks so easy when you duet!
I enjoy your videos. You have a great sense of style. Lovely work.
Nice shop, competent work and very well produced video. Thanks !
Love that last bit Frank! Very funny.
Very clever! And great video as always.
Another great video Frank! Well done
Looks great to me. I like the functionality and versatility.
Nice work. Enjoying your videos very much. And learning quite a bit along the way. Thank you!
He does some really interesting projects and has a great way of showing his projects off.
Once again a really nice design project.
Those hooks looks amazing!
Frank, your videos and your skills as a woodworker are wonderful. The end of the video with the kids putting their coats and backpacks on the floor was priceless. Thank you for sharing your time with all of us. No need to reply, just make more sawdust and videos. Thanks
Very nice and neat. I liked it a lot. And Frank you sound very friendly. I really enjoyed your easy way or explanation
awesome...best looking coat hooks i've ever seen !
Very nice work. The whole project looks great amd makes use of some great ideas. The mix of time lapse, stop motion and regular video really works well.
Enjoyable as always. Amazing how we woodworkers are always checking stuff out and changing (bettering) the design.
That's so cool. I really love all of your videos.
Love that you're using French cleat (z-clip) to mount the French cleat. That would be overkill in anybody else's world. Maybe it's a paradox. I think the universe is collapsing.
Good job. I like the whole system you made.
Superb double entendre' of wall fastening. Great work, as always!
You inspire me with every video you put out!! Please keep it up!!
Hey Frank... SOOOOO Impressive!! Really like your approach to the hooks, and your skill makes me somewhat envious! Well done Sir!
wow! That was incredible. Fun to watch. Beautiful job.
Great ending. :)
Thanks Frank.
Love your stuff.
Just awesome, great shop and skills.
Awwww! After all that lovely work.
Спасибо Вам ! Красиво, просто, без, всякой, лишней мишуры, удобна в обслуживание, без дурацких плечиков, крючков, которые рвут любые петли. И ничего лишнего_ это главное. Очень хорошо!
Great as always. Love the ending.
I really like the fractal nature of this project, with the z-clips holding up the cleat.
Another great project and video! I have watched all of your videos. They are all great. Keep them coming.
Another amazing video Frank! Thanks for sharing.
Larry
please keep posting these. can't get enough!
Great project. I always enjoy your videos.
All I can say is wow beautiful work!
What a nice job You have done! I love it!
Hahahahaha! Brilliant ending! No appreciation for a woodworkers work! Thanks again for another fantastic production, I look forward to you videos immensely every week!
Beautiful. You take such care and attention in everything you do which really shows in the final piece. Love the humour at the end also... I wouldn't want to cover those hooks up either!
from the little we have seen, you have a very nice house, I can;t imagine how much better it's become with your woodwork helping out.
With kids it's a disaster, we need more organization.
frank howarth I smell a new project...
Frank
Love watching your videos. I can see that your thinking way ahead all the time. I lost you a couple of times but don't worry about that. I loved the end of the video and how true that is. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Stellar job, and Stellar video!
You my friend a true artist. and that last part of the video is hilarious thumbs up
Your narrative is well done.
good idea and design! love this video's ending scene!!
Ha ha, the end is very cool. Merci beaucoup pour toutes vos vidéos que j'adore.
it would be really fun to see you make identical bowls, like a set of cereal bowls or ice cream bowls... something cute like that... also I thought it would look cool if you had a bowl with lighter wood on the outside and darker wood like walnut on the inside.. maybe with a darker wood lip... all an all great work, Ive been binge watching all your stuff last night and today
or plates would be cool... square or circle ones
Nice! Love how the whole thing came together. I had to laugh though at hanging a cleat with a cleat but the clean look it gave is very nice. Now the real challange is getting the kids to use them!!
Great uploads. Great editing.
Your projects and cinematography combined just earned you a sub. Props.
I really like the little around the house furniture projects you do, and the ending to this one is funny. Thanks for sharing. :-)
Really like the 'button' peg! They almost have a giant shaker peg look to them...
Thanks, At first I wasn't sure I liked how much they contrasted with the rest of the angular 90 degree design, but I'm liking it more and more. And they function better than I had expected.
They do seem like they were specifically designed to hold hooded coats :D
personally i would have made the rounded part half the size
As always great video and project.
Hi Frank: great job, it looks very nice, it looks more like home with the kids stuff all over the floor, cheers Harry.
That's really elegant Frank. The whole room came out great.
That is so great. Thank you for sharing your work, ideas, talent....
Love this!!!! Great work!!!!
Really enjoy your videos! It' a treasure of ideas to work wood! Being French, I searched but I still don't know why it is call French Cleat!
I'have seen the complete changes of this room and it's remarkable!
Hahah! Just like what everyone has already commented below, the ending was perfect.
I love the character that goes into your videos.
Glad you used the clamps again!! So funny.
You have extraordinary talent and ability, Very much enjoy watching your video's, Thank you for sharing.
I knew the kids would totally ignore it!. Great work though. I'm very envious of your shop.
Great project Frank. Great video as always.
Thoroughly enjoyable video Frank, I always look forward to your offerings, as each one tells a little story.
Take care
Mike
Frank just want to give you a shout out for being a fellow poke your tongue out when concentrating guy!. Love the vids, keep them coming
Ha. I need to stop doing that in the time lapse stuff.
Lol for the final! Real life is cruel!
Great style as usual!
Thanks for sharing!
You're an amazing artist
Frank, I've watched countless woodworking videos, but yours stand uniquely apart from the rest. They're stories and journeys, as you go through the design process onto production, with great post postmortems on how you'd do things differently next time. The animation sequences are wonderful and the tongue in cheek ending of this one, with the kids arriving home from school and tossing everything on the floor, leaving your hard work neglected - priceless!!
Thanks
Love the ending Frank.....it was priceless!!! ~Tim
I love the project, Frank, but I especially appreciate your video style. I am appalled at how many people point a camera at their own face and then stutter and stumble through material they had scarcely thought about ahead of time. I NEVER select a video to watch someone's ill-prepared, talking head. Your video production is superb to match your wood working skill. Thanks.
+Jim Huskins thanks
Jim Huskins yeah, what he said....
Great video the last part was classic
That is a great design. I like the end. That's about how it would go for my house too.
Awesome work!!
I find these videos to be so darn interesting and relaxing at the same time. I think its the fact that you have a very calm voice. Anyways love the videos I have been a subscriber of you channel for awhile now.
I really appreciate these videos! Wish I was his apprentice!
Love the end of it. So true.
Very nice work!!!
