  • In 2018, I made the decision to undergo a hair transplant after much deliberation.
After carefully weighing the pros and cons and considering how I wanted to lead my life, I ultimately chose to go ahead with the procedure.
Now, five and a half years later, I reflect on whether it was worth it and if I would make the same choice again.
    My answer may surprise you.
In this video, I'll share my journey, insights gained, and offer a fresh perspective on the hair transplant experience.
Join me as I unpack the decision-making process and its aftermath.

Over the past 15 years I have had:
4 hair transplants (2 follicular extractions and 2 grafts)
Taken every hair medication and OTC treatment.
Undergone 3 rounds of microscalp pigmentation.
    Plasma injections, blood infusions.
    Derma rollers.
    Endless laser treatments.
    Spent over 40k total.
And after it's all said and done, I have about a 70% coverage of hair on my head.
Was it worth it in the end? Absolutely. And I'll never stop. I'll keep going. I love having hair and I married a dime. Totally worth it.
Would I have looked good bald? Yes. But do I look better with hair? Yes. And that's the point. Always strive for better. Don't ever let anyone convince you to settle. Always go the extra step.

Wow, so honest! In my family, most men lost their hair, but didn't seek any type of treatment (for different reasons). I never asked them how they felt about it... but currently, I have some friends who have had hair transplants and they told me about their insecurities with their self-image and so I learned to look at it more sensitively. These are very individual questions, which involve how you feel about what happens and the resources you have to deal with it. Congratulations on the video!

I’m 42, still have quite a bit of hair, buts it’s gradually receding slowly in a similar way to yours, I always looked great with a shaved head when my hair line was thicker, but less so now, would totally have a hair transplant even if to just eventually mean I’d have a hair line that would suit a buzz cut

In my view, you look fine the way you are. You may not be rocking a full head of hair but you still look good. But, I'm also a lot older than you are and if I had been losing my hair in my 20's, without the technology there is today, I would have lost it. I say this as a 60 year old man who has had a transplant, takes oral minoxidil/Propecia daily, does the Red light helmet and dermarolls 2x per month. Yes, I'm that paranoid of losing my hair. I couldn't, and still can't let it go. For a guy my age, I still have a lot of hair--but it comes with a lot of effort and consistency. I haven't had any side effects so far taking minoxidil/propecia. Like you mentioned, everyone's different. My three brothers (all bald) simply let it go--and they're fine that way. I had to fight it all the way. That's me.

You have to take Propecia or it just isn’t worth it. Rogain is a hair growth stimulant but it does nothing to prevent further hair loss as you age. That is why Propecia is necessary. I have taken it since I was 20…I’m 46 now. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do to maintain the hair you have left. Do I have sexual side effects from it…I don’t really think so. But I’ve been on it so long I can’t really say for sure. But also even if I do have them to some extent, I don’t care. Having hair is so much more important to me. I will never stop taking it. Within the last few years I started PRP and that got me to an even better place, but that also is an investment and you have to be willing to do the maintenance PRP treatments. I hope I’ll never need a hair transplant, but if I do, there is no way I’d ever stop taking Propecia at this point.

There's never guarantees in life but what people should also be aware of is that without a DHT blocker such as finasteride this will ultimately be the outcome for many unless you're way later in life that's why it's usually wise to try that medication first see if it's compatible with you and whether it works and that will help you in making this decision

This is not true though. Even transplanted hair can fall out again, depending on how high the clinic has gone in your donor area. Everyone's hair loss is different due to genetics. It is difficult to predict exactly how far your hair loss will progress during hair transplantation. So if you progress to a Norwood 7 or 6 and you have hair taken from above it, which is quite possible with FUE, it can easily happen that these transplanted hairs will also fall out at some point.

    • @TR3M3RT
