Is This RC Plane Too Good to be True? - FMS Pitts 1400mm

- The Pitts is a ICONIC aircraft and FMS did a AMAZING job on building this scale 1400mm version. With the prices of RC Planes these days... I think this is one of the most fairly priced RC Airplanes on the market. And with the Reflex V2, this stunt plane IS NOT only for intermediate to advanced Pilots anymore. It is BEGINNER Friendly!!!

The Pitts is one of the most beautiful planes ever made. I have the Eflite 850 model and love it, though I nearly drool over a friend’s FMS 1400 Pitts when he brings it to the field. The POV footage was fantastic.
I always had dreams of owning a big plane like that, but as I built and built and acquired planes at swap meets, I no longer have room for anything more than 1.1m. I got the 850mm Pitts and it's all the plane I actually need; 4S 2200, lots of speed, maneuvers, spin like a drill, etc.
:)
Brother I love when you show your stick positioning. Thanks Jay for the fantastic work.
Own it and love it. FMS, please make sure to keep selling this plane. Does almost everything well! Place some velcro on each side of the battery compartment and secure the battery tray that way. Or search for other ways to secure the tray. A 4000-5000 mAh 6s battery works well. Also, I feel the Eflite UMX and the 850mm are both great Pitts too. The 850mm on 4s is fast. The FMS 1400mm is a show-stopper. UMX Pitts is a fun park flyer.
My buddy had the 850mm and loved the design. Hated the way it flew. I never got the chance to fly it though. So can’t speak on my experience
@@Jays_rcgarage Each to their own. The 850mm flies nose heavy and isn't the easiest to land, in my opinion. Great job flying the 1400mm, Jay! You got very low on your inverted pass :)
Recognize the field - that's the Calverton Air Park on Long Island. Guy's flying off of Jay Street (where we used to fly). Not sure if they let people fly there anymore. Too bad - an awesome location!
The EFlite Pitts is amazing. I greased the landings on grass. Tell your buddy to try again.
Hovah? LOL. Best intro to the FMS 1400 Pitts that I have seen without the building tutorial. You have captured the spirit of R/C pilots who love the looks. handling, and take pride in owning a Pitts (or Christen Eagle). I'm 77 now and bought one just to hang from my living room ceiling where I admire it every day as a piece of art. I can still turn a torx wrench lol.
Great video Jay, as said. When you stalled it, I swore that the battery tray had come loose! But you just took off again...Gutsy! Did you add smoke? Which kit and video pleaseeee!
P.S. For the cost of a second cockpit that camera mount is perfect with a fabulous view!! 👍
THE RUNNING WITH THE PLANE LIKE A LITTLE KID!!! IM LAUGHING SO HARD 🤣🤣 Once again, a phenomenal video with a phenomenal plane from FMS 👌
Ahahahaha ! I get excited.
Still one of my favorites in my fleet. Good size for a foamy. And a blast to fly. Loves to land in a stall 3pt. Landing on the mains is hard due to the hard wheels. It will always bounce. Be aware of that battery tray. R/C geek and informer had it come loose causing tail heavy issues. another thing is to do a rudder -Aileron-elevator mix. as it has a tendency to pitch out with roll coupling in knife edge. Make sure the battery tray clicks in solid. If ya still have it I'll come out and do some formation. I'm Local. Also yes replace that rudder servo. I had to as the stock one has plastic gears. Mine stripped out due to the direct connection from the rudder to the servo. It will strip out eventually.
I also got into SMC high voltage batteries. I maidened my Pitts on an SMC 4S2200. At least 1-2 minutes more flight than competing batteries.
The footage from the cockpit was sweet.
I used to have a Pitts 40. size glow powered plane back in the day that we flew with no gyro on a AM radio equipment and it flew amazing you just had to remember to land it hot so it didn't stall! Wish I hadn't sold it lol!
I gotta take mine out of the box!! Sweet like sugar! Try a longer arm on your rudder servo- that might be enough.
Cool video! What kind of flight times are you averaging would you say? And full throttle, where do you see this topping out?
❤😅 I have the same plane and I love it and 16 eight pitch prop will greatly increases performance. You’re gonna like it when you put a profit.
I installed a Dualsky 4130c 470kv and a 100amp speedy in my FMS Pitts,
Now shes also a hot rod, endless vertical
Is it able to crash and not break?
Can you add smoke to it never added smoke to one not sure how to approach it?
Great flying that beauty!
Great plane, great flying! Was going to suggest you just put the camera in the front seat but too late. 🙂 Wish FMS would come out with a gyro/receiver in one unit like Spectrum and Lemon.
@6:33. OMG!
I would think a 14x9 Prop would yeild better speed on that plane rather than sizing up to a 16x10?
Please tell me which camera you used AND how you got speed and heading to show in the video? That is a class act mod that everyone should add!
lol! For sure man it’s definitely cool. I use a GoPro max 360.. but I think all the newer GoPros have it. In the editing you go to stickers and add the speed … make sure GPS on camera is on prior to recording
Info sure is appreciated. Thanks so much for quick response and happy flying! @@Jays_rcgarage
You’re flying the hell out of that in that wind. Like it’s nothing
Sick vid keep it up ❤️
can you use the reflex with other receivers?
Great job
@FMS wow that’s a great price point.
I need to fly mine again, how do you like that gyro system? Never had one
It’s good for a beginner. I shut it off.. just wanted to show what the plane does out of the box. Definitely works and keeps it stable!
@@Jays_rcgarage The self leveling was off, but it looked like the gyros were still active, can see it moving the rudder when you roll inverted.
Have the vers 1 White
do u have a link with amazon to get the a discount
No, just the FMS website direct “ReferralGarageRC”
l agree with you it is underproped alittle to slow
Are we gonna get vid on the l4 grasshopper
Yes, it has been WAAAAAY to windy for that plane. I need a calm day when I have a videographer. Winter has been rough.
@@Jays_rcgarage ok cool thanks for letting me know

Everyone has a flavor ! Lol I’ve been in love with this since the first time I seen it 👀😎
That’s supposed to cost $169 did you even got scammed
No its not???
You keep calling them 3d planes, they are aerobatic, no full scale planes can do 3d only models can.
