Those new to the Programming and DevOps world often find it challenging to start their journey due to the missing basic prerequisites. For example, issues with setting up a basic lab environment using VirtualBox, problems with networking, or trouble with working with the Linux CLI or text editors like vi editor. Sometimes there are issues with applications - like getting a sample application to work, problems with getting the dependencies to install correctly or trouble with getting a web server to communicate with a database server. Or, at other times, it's working with data formats like JSON or YAML.
So we have identified a gap, and we believe that this is due to missing some of the basic prerequisites, such as knowing the basics of Linux, the basics of tools like VirtualBox, or knowing the basics of the most commonly used applications like Java, Python or NodeJS or web servers like Apache, NGINX etc. As a DevOps or Cloud Engineer, it is crucial to have these basics cleared. And that’s why we are helping you to bridge that gap!

I don’t mind basic scripting but don’t like full programming (currently a software developer)… so I’ll be looking to divert into cloud engineering instead.
Awesome. We hope we helped you in making your career decision.
I'm actually looking for Cloud Engineers however it seems like DevOps Engineer have more opportunity with a wider range of role, it seems like you can also do SRE with DevOps, while Cloud is only in the cloud.
True that!
In my experience every company has their own interpretation of these titles. I've had several of them and they all mean different things to different orgs, so in the end I think it's always best to ask lots of questions during interviews to get an idea of what they actually mean and if your skillset is a good fit for the role.
@@spamin8r nice thank you for the information this helps a lot.

I am an experienced software tester ( Manual) based on my experience I am not able to land a job in the USA. I have experience from India only. Now I am fed up with finding jobs for software tester but could not land. I am searching for a career upgrade, so I want to know if DevOps will be a good option? If it is will I be able to land a job in the USA based on the course? Please help anyone.
Transitioning from manual software testing to DevOps is a promising career move. DevOps skills are in demand globally, including in the USA. To make the switch, learn DevOps concepts, tools, and automation. Gain expertise in cloud platforms, consider certifications, and network with professionals. Tailor your resume and actively apply for DevOps positions, including entry-level roles. While it may take time and effort, DevOps offers excellent career prospects in the USA.
I am actually into coding. So which one should I choose?
You can try DevOps Engineer: bit.ly/DevOpsLearningPath-YT

SRE quiet similar to devOps, minus the coding and it exist much longer and more traditional

SRE and Devops are hot cakes 🔥
Thanks for watching our video. Cheers!
I disagree when you said "Get as many certifications you can". Lol thats not how the real world works. 9 times out of 10 Cloud Engineers don't even hold a Solutions Architect certification from what i have been told by recruiters. I'm also a living proof of a Red Hat Sysadmin with no degrees or certifications. Just experience and a brain. Employers put more emphasis on hands on experience and skills sets not certifications or even care if you hve a degree or not. Passing a certication exam does not guarantee you a job. You have to put in the hard work and grind and build your own project's and build your portfolio to show in your interview what you have created to justify why you are the right candidate for the role. Hands on experience is king.
Did ChatGPT write this...sounds like it.
