You all know that DevOps is already very popular and highly demanded. You see organizations adopting it worldwide and it seems like a great career choice with lots of job opportunities, high salary and generally a very rewarding work.
But maybe DevOps is not for everyone. It takes a specific type of person to be interested in DevOps, so the question is: "Is DevOps profession right for you?" And in order to answer this question in this video I will explain:
    - what are the qualities and characteristics you should have if you want to get into DevOps,
    - what kind of thinking and approach is required in DevOps
    - which soft skills as well as technical skills you need to have
    - and finally what are some challenges of being a DevOps engineer.
    - And if at the end of the video you do find out and decide that DevOps is indeed for you, I will also show what next steps you can take to get into DevOps.

Dear Nana. basically I have done DevOps since the 80ties. It was not called DevOps. My lesson is that learning tools, high level, programming, etc is the "easy" part, but now, many years later, handling the constant changing organization, roles, skills levels by people, resource limits, dependencies, is the hard part.

Thanks Nana. As usual you can explain complex things in clear terms. From 6:48, she touches a very important point. It is "easy" to identify tools that can help and areas that takes time, but to change it, if not only depending on you, the hard work (communication) starts. Conflicting interesting, constant changes from management, vendors, other teams, is a big challenge.

If one is not expert in that specific tool how they can optimize and innovate? Knowing many toil is good to have exposure but master of none is danger. Every month some DevOps tools are releasing not sure having learning that many tools which does more or less same job helps. Please let me know your thoughts.

im definitely a generalist. I know hardware really well, that led me to system administration, virtualization/physical servers/different operating system and how to administer. Then the virtualization led me to more advanced networking need and worked on some cisco certifications and worked as network plus system admin. then i learned ansible and it helped me automate stuff with routers and with patches. Then i got into docker as the was a need to reduce costs and make servers faster. then there was a need to monitor everything so i installed my First ELK Stack for monitoring. In the middle i found and cyberSecurity and did a CEH and got a master degree as well. And then i found out Dev Ops and im working into it as the next path as i have great communication skills due to my past work in sales. Should i continue with this? What do you say?
