@Kelly Gibson - What on Earth is your problem? People posting supportive, affectionate comments and then you come along full of bitterness and hate. You do realise you're just coming across as a nasty, close-minded bigot? You are doing yourself absolutely no favours.
You're braver, Liam, than those erstwhile straight male friends who won't speak to you. They're afraid. Straight boys who are confident of who they are and treat others with respect are not afraid to speak to or be friends with a gay boy or girl.
You're literally the cutest person ever!🙊 So glad you have now got amazing friends who are accepting of who you are, and are there for you! You're so brave and hearing about your story is truly inspiring to many, many people I'm sure. Well done for being you, and not being afraid to show who you are! Lots of love❤

Actually, that kind of pressure can be terrifying at that age. I'm certain she meant well but she could have gone about it better. I'm glad it worked out ok though. :)
I also came out at 15, I was broken but afterwords I’ve never felt as free. I would never trade my inner spirit, my inner freedom for anything. I love my self now and I’m happy. We all have lows and highs but I really wish you happiness and piece. I know how hard this is, been there, done that. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼Stay safe❤️

5 years later and your story still has impact for others. I'm glad one of your parents responded well. My parents responded well and it's certainly something to not take forgranted.

You now have two great gifts: first the freedom you describe to be yourself - your full and whole self - and secondly, a maturity beyond your years which gives you the power and courage to deal with anything life sends your way. Congrats Liam! It must have really been tough going through middle and high school. School is hard enough. You reminded me of a scene in the movie "Baby Sitter" with Jonah Hill. It's a pretty funny movie. But I've heard such horror stories of coming out to parents that just don't get it. Good job on the video, I hope you inspired some kid out there that is miserable thinking it's so overwhelming that he doesn't make it. It's all about finding love for someone that shares the same love for you both to be happy together for life. I wish you happiness and someday finding the love of your life!

Just a few words. Brilliant. Brave. Inspirational and yes, you're cute. In all seriousness your insight at this age is almost unheard of. I was actually 30 before anyone knew. Having no friends made that part easier and my family were okay aside from one brother whom I haven't seen for over a decade. He visits when he knows I'm out. I live at home as a carer for my mother and she was great when she found out. My father passed away before he knew but he was a typical mans man kind of guys and don't think he would taken it so well Thanks

Thank you for sharing your experience. You are lucky indeed to have such good friends and such a good mother. (It's not clear if your father was ever able to accept your sexual orientation, but apparently he didn't disown you.) It took real courage to do what you did and to accept the loss of some of your friends without denying an important component of who you are. I'm sure you'll be an inspiration to other young adults in the same situation.

They were never friends to begin with and most of the time they themselves are gay and afraid if they hang with you that their secret will be found out.
Hello Liam. Old gay guy from the U.S. here. You were very brave sharing your story here. I know it's very hard to do. It's flat scary especially to tell your parents. We can live without our friends but mum and dad, well they're pretty important. I'll bet you feel free inside like never before don't you. It's a wonderful thing. The friends you lost I know hurt you a lot. But you have to look at it like they weren't truly your friends were they. Their loss more then yours. Reading below I can see you have a lot of support. And you'll find more as you get older. Here is the important thing Liam. You are beautiful inside and out and you deserve to be happy. So be happy and comfortable in your own skin. Ignore the comments, they have small minds and they'll probably end up working for you in the future. So work hard and continue to love you. You're adorable, Liam. Things have changed dramatically since I came out 1982. Wow. It's so much more acceptable. Not everyone will be accepting though. You've found that out. However, we must go on so you just move on with your life.

And any person who gets to know you personally, and especially intimately, will be luckier than they know. I'm 15 years old, and I wish my parents weren't so... Idk they wouldn't take it well..... They are religious and all and don't support gays. I asked him one day what he would do if I was gay, and he said that it would be the worst thing I could tell him and that he would not want me around his other kids or anyone in the family. I'm kinda stuck... I wish I could come out to anyone because I would be happier. Just thinking about being out would make me happier... But congrats on coming out. I know it's really hard just to say those words.

Good on you Liam. I would never have been as brave as you coming out at your age. I was 19 when I told my mum who was fine with it.
