I'm a huge believer in "Check before you buy", and am lucky to live within 15 minutes of an Apple Store so, when I was looking to get my first Apple Watch last year, I went in and tried all the models, sizes and colours.
I'd originally been drawn to a darker colour, but wasn't sure of size.
I ended up getting a Nike Series 7 41 in Starlight - didn't need the 8's extra features, but wanted more than what the SE2 had to offer (the Ultra was just too big/expensive). Have to say, I absolutely love it.

I've tracked my sleep/heart rate zones/steps/battery level & calories burned at one glance with my Fitbit since 2014. I charge it about every 5 days.
if you're already invested into the apple ecosystem the apple watch is the best choice
I loved my Fitbit it was so simple and just what I needed but it died. Now they don’t make that model anymore and the new fitbits are almost as expensive as the Apple Watch. I’m so sad. It’s a big dilemma for me.
I heard apple watch is the most accurate in measuring heart rate
I was with Fitbit for few years and really liked the app and data but every year I had to get a new one because they would always break before the 1 yr mark. After about 3 or 4 yrs I switched to Garmin, no breaks at all in over 6 yrs, great sturdy quality. Now I’m considering switching to Apple Watch because I now have an iPhone and an iPad and the smart watch features of it seem better than Garmin, still looking into it.
Fitbits blow. I stopped using them when my last one crapped out 2 days after the year warranty. And their step counter sucks and is very inaccurate

Awesome video bro keep up the good work, that last feature you mention about the crown and audio is increasing try rotating your Apple Watch ⌚️ the other way but switching the orientation and making the crown face the other side but down cause when your hands moves up and down it can prolly cause the Watch crown to move or rotate. I am thinking of buying an Apple Watch 8 for my wife. It will be her first smart watch. Do you think this will be too advanced for her? Not really sure which one to buy. The 8 is on sale for $225 so that's why I was going to buy it. Not really sure which one to buy.
@@billsfan1768 yeah in my opinion it would, my first smart watch was the Apple Watch Series 8 and I love it I just got the 45mm one but I would say try the 41mm or get the SE model they are cool unless you want to grab the series 9 I thought about getting my mom a Apple Watch for Christmas this her first one she just told me don’t get the big one cause she don’t like big watches so I was like ok cool 41mm series 8 or 9 or the SE model but then with the Apple Watch you don’t gotta upgrade every year you can wait like 4-5 years before you do

I bought the first SE back in 2021 I think.
Its battery is down to 84% and today I bought the Series 8. They had discounted it 20% today. I am quite happy. Payments using the watch or talking to someone has been a really nice thing and would hate to lose those possibilities.
I wish reviewers would talk about call quality on the watches speakers on the aluminum version versus the stainless steel version.
There shouldn't be any difference as both models have the same specs. Build quality has nothing to do with call quality.

@@YeOldeGeezer This is actually true. I hv a Stainless Steel Galaxy Watch 4 classic and one of my friends has the Watch 4 (aluminium). My speaker sounds so much louder and clearer. Ig Stainless steel creates more vacuum? Idk

This is the apple support answer to your problem of the volume when moving the hand: Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch or the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap Accessibility > AssistiveTouch > Hand Gestures. Tap a gesture, then select the action that you want to perform when you make that gesture
Turned out Hand Gestures on the watch was turned on but Assistive Touch was not. How strange, thanks for point this out! Disabled Hand Gestures and will see if that fixes it. - Josh

Switch the watch orientation turn the Apple Watch around on your wrist and that should fix the problem because when your hand moves toward your Apple Watch turns left or right, the back of your head moving the crown if you switch it around that won’t happen because then no limbs, it will be touching it.

Do you have a gps or cellular watch? Just asking because I feel cellular models have the worst battery life.
exactly! they have worse battery life and cost 33% more. to me the cellular models are not worth it. also you could get into roaming fees when travelling abroad.
Stainless steel is always cellular and you dont have to enable it

I have a iphone 8 Plus and the sales person at the Apple store said the SE watch would work with my phone. It didn't, you have to have iOS 17, the 8Plus only goes to iOS 16.7.6 I am hesitant to buy the series 8 watch. On Apple's website it says it will work with my 8Plus phone. But it also said the SE would too and it didn't. There is nothing wrong with my 8Plus phone it works perfectly and I have no plans to upgrade it. I don't need the latest greatest, mine is perfect for what I want it to do. With all of that being said, without me having to go back to the Apple Store for the 3rd time, does anyone know if the Series 8 watch will truly work with my iPhone 8 Plus?

Yes, you can take a phone call on the watch while connected to an iPhone via bluetooth.
Yes I do it all the time convenient when iPhone is in a bag so you can answer a call quick

The SE has everything you need unless you NEED the extra health features. Most people use the health features once and then forget about them because they don’t really need it.

Mines 84% after 3-4 years! Still lasts all day I think that’s due to slow charging I’ve just bought a series 8 now, but I plan too not fast charge it to maintain battery health to make it last years
I see some used series 7s on eBay that have the fast charging and there down to the 80s battery health and it’s 2-3 years newer….

I’ve used the series SE 2022 model in 41MMM and guess what! I’ve sold it it was useless for me.
So I ended up getting series 8
Brilliant size in 45MM at least it’s got the keyboard to reply back to I messages. I was thinking of going for series 9 then again there was ultra which was just too too big for me.
But I guess everyone got their own preferences when it comes to Apple Watches.

The ultra cost so much for really have no difference things if u ask me..
There are two things I don't like about this watch. 1- The Sleep App and 2- The choice of watch faces.
I tried the Sleep app but in order for this to work you have to set it up through the Health app. Plus you have to set up a time schedule for it to track your sleep. That was the one thing I used to love about my Samsung. It didn't matter at what time I went to bed. It would always track my sleep and it would tell me the different stages. I tried that with the Series 8 and all I got were headaches. Right now I'm looking for an app that would work with Apple like the Samsung did, but Apple doesn't allow 3rd party apps.
Then, there are the watch faces or lack thereof. There are only a few. I had hundreds to chose from in my Samsung, and to be honest; they were prettier. Those are my two problems with the Series. I can't speak for any other model because this is my first Apple watch, and the main reason why I switched was for tracking my sleep. I'm not putting Apple down because they are great devices, but by the same token; it also made me appreciate the quality of the Samsung watch as well.

I have a scratch on my series 8 display. That’s where you’re wrong. I scrapped my series 8 once on the wall at my job while pumping gas ⛽️ and I have these 2 big scratches that easily came about and now are there forever. And I’m really pissed about it. So I’m short the series 8 can Get scratched bad if you accidentally hit a wall while walking from the side like I did smh

It doesn't, that's a feature Apple hasn't added to any watch, but it is rumored to be something they're working on.

I'm sure it's for simple trails, and simple hikes....but...you have people that will go into an off-grid trail areas, and of course end up missing, with that watch being found in some mountain crevices, 10 years later..broken... smashed...only a memory.

Battery life is garbage and the charge time for it to turn on when the battery is depleted takes forever. Consider other options before buying.

@@Black_Rose1234 when it comes to battery life, Fitbit is way better than the series 8, other watch brands have also started making their own smartwatches, I currently picked up a citizen which I’m currently trying out.
I’m standing by my old adage, if the Watch can’t replace the phone then there’s no point. You need an iPhone to set the watch up and update it….
Why would you want a watch to replace the phone? Doing everything on the watch would be so cumbersome and uncomfortable. It’s pitched as an iPhone accessory and that’s all it should be

The worst buy in my life of 60 years. The features are available in very cheap watches. Battery ? One has to charge every 24 hours. So if you are traveling long distance, for example from USA to Asia (which normally takes about 30 hours), battery is gone by the time you arrive. Please think before you pay so much for this watch. It's total wastage of money.😮💨

Does the Samsung have ECG, fall detection or oxygen saturation functionality? My mother is 80, so these features are important.

There’s also a lot of women out there who don’t ovulate. If they’ve gone through their menopause, haven’t had their first cycle yet or maybe had their ovaries removed for medical reasons. So it just makes no sense to say that the tracking possibility is there for “women”
