    Thanks for your expertise. Glad I waited for this diffsplain.

    You have to get used to running with a diff and you have to play with different fluids. Having a rear diff is a must for racing on a track. Short course indoor stadium racing with my UDR and 20 other short course trucks is my favorite type of off road racing. So much more fun than open wheel cars.

      We are going to be having some running on a proper track with some of our large scale stuff soon.

    Locked diff is the go in the rear. Open in the front if you want it to turn. Tried all this in a yetti and a twin hammers as well.

      That is the standard set up in the UDR

    Hmmm. Looks like the standard UDR drifts smoother and is more stable. I’ll stick with the spool then. 👍🏼

    Awesomeness. Gr8 going

    Super cool idea! I’ve never thought about putting a diff in a UDR. You got a new sub from me!

    Can you try it on paved roads? I feel like the point of the locked diff was meant for better handling on lose gravel/sand/mud/snow. Having an open diff would better suited for paved roads or fixed surfaces. would be cool to have a changeable lockers like the ones found on those slow RC crawlers.

      Not really a fan of them on road!!! Except when we set them up as drift trucks and of course you want the locked diff then !

    Would you be able to make a video comparing the two trucks(one with a diff and one with spool) on concrete?

    • @TeamRC3D
      @TeamRC3D  Před rokem +1

      We could do, think if the grip is high and you want to drive the truck it will be better with diff but these trucks are meant for drifting and locked axle is best for that

    Woooooowwwwww!!!!👍💪🤩🏁 ...but on this terrain, I think the UDR has greater traction with the differential locked...furthermore, even when cornering, the blue slides great without rolling over👍

      Locked is best for this truck

    I came to the same conclusion, I still have the diff though as may build a second axle and try different fluids. I think in high grip situations it will work well.

      Yes. We are hoping to take these onto proper race tracks so will see if that makes much difference

    While you have the diff in can you do the same comparison on asphalt? Also what weight oil is in that diff?

    • @TeamRC3D
      @TeamRC3D  Před 2 lety

      Only really drift these trucks on tarmac so locked axle is best for that. But perhaps we could try on tarmac

      Which weight oil was used?

    Can you try this on pavement? I'd like to see if it might help keep it from flipping if both the front and rear have a proper diff in it rather than a spool.

      It will help it s bit. Suspension changes can also help.
