lol dude minoxidil doesn't stop hairloss. it only thickens existing hairs to give the appearance of thicker (it's a vaso dialator). You need to supress DHT either by Fin or Dut.
I’m getting my widows peak filled in 500 grafts 250 each side for 5,000 usd. And no it’s not much hair missing but it’s a small job just to make it look more even and shaped up.
Corners are the cheapest to fill using an FUE. I think it would need somewhere between 800 grafts and 1,500. So maybe 5K USD to $10K USD depending on your severity
This is exactly the problem I am dealing with. May I have more information on your location & consultations? I am in New Jersey area I’d really appreciate it. Thank you
Hi Adm, Yes, the "corners" are typically one of the most common areas we treat with FUE. While there are still many advantages to doing FUT for the frontal hairline area, based on the graft number needed and a few other factors FUE is an acceptable approach for this area -- and one we use quite frequently. -- Dr Bloxham
Amazing job. I am 47 been on finasteride for 15 years with very little loss since going on meds (maybe a little thinking in general for the whole top, front, temple areas) Still as it took some years for me to go on med I lost a bit on the temples. I would say my case is even a bit better than this. I would say my temple recession is like his but I still have 20-30% of my hair left in the “diffused” temple areas. Also my hair in general is not a dark and not as dense packed as his so that would mean even less to “fill in” into the temples. Would you say a 500-800 graft procedure seems resonable for such a reconstruction. And would FUT,FUE or direct implantation be preferable? Thank you.
@Ken Doe sorry now I think we are talking about different things. What do you mean with corners? That is what I mean with temples. Or are you talking about temporal peaks? Hairloss is also normal still some have it abs some have it not. And when I was on finasteride my temples stayed intact. And when paused they started to thin again. The things I are talking about many doctors adjust. Here is an example of what I mean: www.google.es/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/Hairloss/comments/cu8mzp/this_is_my_left_temple_is_it_a_sign_of_balding/
@Ken Doe ah then no. My temporal/temple peaks/point is still all good with almost no thinning. So I was referring to the temple corner area that has receeessd and thinned out.
You have to stay on medication (finasteride or dutasteride) to stop or very much delay further thinning. The transplanted hairs stay without meds, but the rest will fall out behind them.
Dr Blake. I'm similar to this gentleman in the "corners". I'm a bit worse. Do I have to shave my head for procedure? I work I'm sales and would have to he be back at work in probably 10 days
Hi Shadow man, Sometimes the areas are very bare and we don't need to really shave anything or make any cosmetic difference by cleaning up a little bit. Almost everyone goes back to work at 10 days regardless, so you should be okay. If you would like to send me some images (drbmbloxham@gmail.com), I will happily take a look and let you know whether or not I think much trimming would be necessary. -- Dr Bloxham
Yeah, most people go on finasteride (propecia) which stops 65% of DHT (this only slows balding! as i still lost further hair on this). I however take dutasteride which blocks 90%+ DHT, has completely halted my receeding hairline and thickend up the thinning areas. Don't believe all the horror stories about shribbled dicks / depression, try the shit yourself starting from a smaller those and see how you feel, then up it gradually over time to the full dose.
He goes from the hairline of a 36 year old, to the hairline of a 25 year old. Amazing.
So glad I found this. Been a slow burn of a few, anxiety filled years as my corners have faded. Consultation incoming!
Why not go on propecia?
