Lovely video as usual. I was just using mine (also red dark matter handles, but standard rwl34 steel) during breakfast. A splendid knife, though I never pondered the fragility of human existence when looking at the handle!
Lovely knife. I particularly like the suminagashi steel. I’ve a few Japanese knives with similar san mai types of blade. Looks great whilst still employing a good ingot or powdered steel cutting edge. Beats any standard Damascus, in my opinion.
The knives will still be available used. In one way, you are creating an archive, like Ian McCollum's "Forgotten Weapons." No reason to limit yourself to knives in current production.

Great review and very nice Le Thiers. I wish they used a screw for the pivot instead of a hammered pin. That would have been more in line with the rest of the knife in my opinion.
@@thebutcher7919 No, it's not. There are several very modern Le Thiers designs. For example, watch my video on the Le Thiers Colombage by Claude Dozorme. I was just referring to this particular Fontenille Pataud knife.

@@StefanSchmalhaus Sind in Thiers ansässig, fertigen überwiegend Küchenmesser. Auch Steakmesser im Thiers Stil. Nur Taschenmesser findet man nirgends. Danke dennoch. Und weiter so, Deine Videos sind klasse.
The main reason for not mentioning the price is that prices are subject to change over time. Some of my most popular videos are more than 10 years old, any price information would be totally useless today.
These are beautiful but damn I wish they made knives with pocket clips. I know it's sacrilege but I buy knives to use them and I don't want to spend hundreds on a knife that does not have one. They are too easy to lose.
@@StefanSchmalhaus Yeah I know its sacrilage 😅 but my knives tend to fall out of my pockets without a pocket clip. I do wish they at least made a leather pouch with a pocket clip as some knife manufactures are starting to do. I also don't usually wear belts and belt pouches stick out like a sore thumb cause "the look" amoungst non knife enthusiasts. Its why I've gotten into small slim knives like the broker urban trapper and the CRKT CEO. They don't look like knives in pocket. Which is great in the office, people usually ask me what kind of pen it is if they notice.

Welcome back after a long hiatus. Really miss your reviews. And thanks for the heads up on the Actilam knives.
What are you talking about? 🙄 The video before this one was released three weeks ago! Do you call three weeks a "long hiatus"?
