I got pulled over in a mk2 Supra 7mgte, going 135 in a 65 in GA. I was actually taken to jail.
My parents had a Mk. 3 Supra as well, they sold it because they wanted to be safe. Bought a mom wagon. At least it was a Volvo. Still pretty fast, and they nailed* the safe aspect at least.
I wish they had interesting stories about that car, I'm upset they didn't keep the Supra.

I got pulled over going 100+ on a 50 mph zone by a young undercover officer. He gave me all the reasons to impound my car and even a jail sentence but as we talked why was I speeding he just let me go. I’ll never forget that morning and that officers face.

i havent had to run yet but being 16 and having fun on back roads (like 90-100 on some parts and about 65 minimum in a 35 on my favorite road) gets you such a rush. one time i was doing 70 and a cop went by me in the other direction. im guessing he didnt bother to chase me but i didnt look back i just floored it and took the first turn
I remember once being at a stop light, and it was frozen or something. I sat there for so long. I was in my Rx7. And this BMW was next to me. So I said fuck it and did a small burn out and jetted thru the red light. Completely safe. But on the otherside of the red light, about 3 cars deep was a cop. He turned on his lights and in my rear view mirror I saw his reverse lights come on. lol. I immediately made a Right turn at the next light. and then pulled into the parking lot less than a block up. And parked behind this dumpster. I got out of my car without rolling up the windows and just started walking.
After walking about two blocks, I decided to walk back. As I walked back, I saw the officer sitting in his car in an alley just waiting for me to come back to my car. So I kept walking and I walked home. I went back the next day and got my car in the morning. lol. I totally got away.

Good story, I did a similar ditch & hide in like 1977, I was driving a 1970 Thunderbird 429ci (w suicide doors), smoked by a cop at maybe just 90, he came, I floored it to like 140 for about a mile, pulled into a driveway, cut off the lights, he passed, we sat, the house lights came on, I waved and backed-out. Then we went to a Hardees, went inside, he pulled up next to us, we sat down and ate, he left!!! Man, love me some stories.

Rules for running...
1. Have really good performance tires.
2. AWD is the best. FWD is 2nd best. RWD is the riskiest. Wet road and an old RWD car can end really bad.
3. Stick with country roads. Even a lowly 150hp honda can get away on roads like this. Highways, towns and cities not a chance.
4. Keep the flashy car at home. Take the stealth car. No window banners or identifying stickers. Quiet exhaust is also good.
5. If you are gonna run on the highway be setup for it. 500+hp and if possible a way to add downforce.
6. Waze, detector and scanner can be beneficial. They can't always save you but now and again they will.

I stopped as i saw him and passed him doing the limit. What happened here, no use. Keep going as no matter its jail time. Ive done my fair share of stupid. I told myself "if i cant beat them, i might as well join them." Exactly what i did. Legally, i can get away with my foolishness to an extent.

Oh man thanks for sharing this story. Brings me back to when I was a teenager and in my early 20's running from cops in similar fashion. I must've done it at least a dozen times. Only ran when I knew I had a good chance. Never caught. You've got to be able to make a split second decision whether you can get away or not and stick with your decision.

Ain’t no cops going to be doing any where near 180mph. I rode with one in a hemi charger and he was hitting 150mph but it was pretty much wound out it might have done 160mph if you was going down a long down hill grade with a strong wind pushing you. Now most cops have the 350hp V6 with AWD chargers they want do more then 130-140 tops. This was back when they still used the big V8 hemi’s that I rode with one. We made it from Knoxville Tennessee to Knox county KY in 35 minutes. And the crazy thing was it wasn’t even interstate just long 4 lane and rural 2 lane. Dude had my asshole puckering that’s for sure.

I did the same thing but with an 01 WS6 with cutout exhaust (aka open headers) and a 150 shot of juice, so it was very difficult to get away when they can hear you getting on it from a half mile away. Went by a cop on Gratiot in the Detroit area racing a Mustang at 120mph. Blew by the cop. Dumb Mustang slowed down (good for me). I lifted for a split second as a knee jerk reaction to blowing by a cop going that fast. Got back on it and turned off into a subdivision. Got the car up to 60 in the sub and put the clutch in to keep the exhaust as quiet as possible. Found my way through the sub to 696 and got the fk out of that county.
Now this is a sweet story

Yeah, these situations can lead to a rectal pucker. I ran once on a motorcycle and got away by going off-road. I ran away once in a car by killing headlights when briefly out of sight and taking a left turn. Cop went straight and in a hurry. I decided that was enough for one night and gently drove home. That was long ago and I never was that stupid since then.

My niephew has one, they are classics now in prime shape. He took out the clutch pretty quick, replaced with state 3 and bigger turbo and intercooler. Those will put you back in your seat with a little tuning.
