- In today's video, we are finally adding corals to our Waterbox 20 Cube. This is a nano reef build, and we can't wait to add to it! I decided to start with a handful of LPS corals and also added inverts.
In previous videos, we discussed the equipment and setup of this tank, as well as adding fish. You can find and watch those here:

Adding Fish - • Adding Fish to the Nan...
Stay tuned for updates on this Waterbox 20 Cube, as we'll be adding more corals and showing progression over time!

Now I don't usually like all the edited in film clip stuff, but you got a gift for it. I about snarfed my coffee at the eyeball debt guy. Well done.
Hell yea Aquatica is the best reef store I’ve been to, Mario is always super informative and helpful
Paul Rudd, Always sunny and now The Office and Old School. Impeccable taste sir, this channel is now my guide for my first SWT
The corals look great in the tank
That frogspawn looks 👌
Definitely recommend having the lid on full time. Fish jumping is a very common. Also most fish jumping happens at night when you are not likely to notice
Great little nano!
Thanks!
You can tell it’s an Aspen tree cause of the way it is.
That Nano Reef Aquarium look awesome!
Thank you!
I like the idea of having this Nano Aquarium, specially for those people who has a very small space.. and still possible to have this incredible creation 😊😊😊.. i hope you can give some update about this & create new informative blogs...
PERFECT VIDEO
Thank you!
Wow .. cant wait to see feeding videos.. thank u for sharing your fish videos..
You can get a plastic filter cup for the waterbox tanks and just fill that with floss, great alternative to socks.
i got my media basket from intank and i love it, way better than replacing socks every couple days
I don't understand you can send a link of the product you talk about
Cool little tank! I have kept fresh water fish for 30 years. Never tried salt. Now you got me thinking. That $377 bill is crazy! One reason I have stayed away from salt is the prices are so high. But the results are awesome.
Thanks! It’s been fun to learn this side of the hobby, but definitely not cheap lol
I am with you those LFS prices are insane, I would look at local fish forums. In my area you can pick up frogspawn and hammer coral heads for around 15-25 bucks per head. When I saw 99+ per head I almost died. Good luck on your tank though good start!.
That was awesome
loved this video!
Nice video I just started my tank and I live in the area I go to beyond The reef fro my stuff too
Thanks! It’s a great spot for sure
beautiful job👌
Thank you!
Thanks for the update!! Been waiting so long for it. The tank looks great!
Thank you - Sorry for the long wait!
Love your videos. So informative.
Glad you like them!
STRONG VIDEO
brilliant video mate, keep up the great content
Thank you!
Cakep
Krennnn 👍
I love your videos cichlid bro’s
Great choices looks great good luck
Coming along nice, I will suggest to get rid of the sock and get a media basket from intank , that way you can add any media you need and use filter floss cut to size on it.
Good idea. I had thought about doing that 👍🏻
@@CichlidBros yes, is easier just throwing a piece of pinky floss out than washing socks.
Great video. That bottom acan looks a little shaded out by your scape. Might be worth renting a PAR meter just to make sure its getting enough light.
Your tank is looking good!
Aquatics is a Cool store. Been shopping there for Years.
I live in Oak Lawn so it's not too far from Me.
Thank you! It’s always fun going there 👌🏻
Looks great! Those are nice frags. Really love the Acan's. I might suggest you consider a bit of a re-work on the Rock Work however. You have mostly top heavy/shadowed space with very little middle tank placement spots. It would be a lot easier to re-work the rocks while it's still somewhat new. I'd try to do a small modification to make better use of the rock you have! Just a friendly suggestion as something to consider! Otherwise fun little tank, welcome to the Coral family!
FINALLY!
For byropsis algae, I recommend fritz algea clean out.
that rock scape is very steep. will limit the amount of coral you can place in the front because the light cant reach it. I reckon a small rock in the front would give you more coral mounting space and give you more of a cave.
On another note, I wish I had a store like that near me. Your lucky👍... and i subscribed.
Thank you!
Really informative video! I have the exact same set up haha.. please do a video on your ai prime light setting. I can’t seem to get the right setting for my tank. Thank you!
Thank you! A video on lighting was actually in the works, so keep an eye out!
@@CichlidBros Will look forward to that! Btw, my chaeto turned brown and died in the second chamber and I use the same light as yours... 😭 I wonder if the light works fine for you and what filter media do you use other then filter sock.
You can put the frogspawn and hammer next to each other without issues....make sure your testing your elements before adding alk or calcium supplements lps doesn’t use much and can usually be maintained with water changes
The fire/blood shrimp are $300+ here in Australia, we live on the great barrier reef and our fish are expensive as hell, it's a joke here
i bought a cube 20 because of you lol
Hope we didn’t steer you wrong, I’m still loving this one!
Same!! Lol
I liked subscribed and clicked the bell.
Thank you - much appreciated!
Acans love food, they will definitely except frozen foods. Food will make them grow a lot faster
AWESOME! What are the measurements of the aquarium?
Thanks! 17.7"×17.7"×15.7" inches
Nice, corals look awesome! Have you thought about getting an anemone for the clowns?
About dosing in a nano tank, i wonder if that is really necessary if you do a weekly 15% waterchange with the best reef salt there is. This is difficult/expensive to do in big reeftanks but in a nano not so.
Thanks for sharing! Ive been following along. Im currently cycling mine and cant wait to make my first additions. How do you like that reef glass skimmer? Im currently shopping and i feel like the size is perfect.
Thanks for watching! I’ve really like this one so far. No issues over the past 4 months
So the addiction begins.....
Vedi che all estero tutti hanno la sabbia sul fondo. In Italia no. Non hai problemi di nitrati con la sabbia ??
What species of invertebrates did you get?
Beautiful tank! Where did you get that lid if I may ask?
When the filter socks clough, does it overflows the water outside the tank?
Haven’t had that issue yet. Even when clogged up, water still gets through some
just curious how you got aptasia with using the life rock and no corals in there??
Ma quanti litri o galloni ??
I saw that your tank just have one light, if you put one more will it damage the corals?
- Isabel
how you like the skimmer?
It’s been great so far!
I also have WB20, with 2 clown. Want to add coral, what flow rate you got setup for tank. I have a AI Nero3.
How do you already have aiptasia in a new tank? I hope you didn't use someone else's live rock or add water from another aquarium.
Not really sure. I think it came with the chaeto since I used dry rock. Peppermint shrimp took care of the issue though!
@@CichlidBros Okay, yes that can happen but if thats the case it's likely they sexually reproduced meaning there will be lots of little ones slowly appearing. It will take about 2 months for the rest to become noticeable if the shrimp don't get them . It was a very smart move to add the peppermint shrimp early though. In the future if you have any large ones (which the shrimp may not touch) it's best to manually remove them out side of the aquarium. I've been vary careful to not get any in my reefs by just chucking out any coral that shows up with Aiptasia in the QT tank. If you don't have the option to set up a QT tank I'd suggest using a frag rack each time you get new coral so that they can't directly crawl onto your rock work. This gives you a better chance to catch it before it spreads. Aiptasia will tend to reproduce by pedal laceration, a mode of fission, as a default and will sexually reproduce (when mature at about 1-1.2cm in diameter) when stressed that's why some products sold as Aiptasia killer make the problem worse. Good luck with your tank!
Do you always replace the filter socks with a new one or do you clean them?
Sometimes I’ll just clean one if it’s not too dirty
Ok thank you! And how many times would you reuse it
How long did it take the top to come in?
About 1-2 weeks for mine, but might be longer if you need any custom cuts made
Nice video, although you using movie clip cut ins every 2 mins is very unnecessary. We get it but it gets old after the first two. Your video would be so much better without these gimmicks.
great tank and setup but that store is way overpriced i got my fire shrimp for 24.99 at my local fish store, i also live in miami florida. good luck
lol how in the hell did you get aptasia before you even had corals and livestock already i watched you set it up in a previous video what all the sudden went wrong brooo lol
Not sure, may have come on the chaeto. Peppermint shrimp cleared it up in about 24 hours
dont think you need to be dosing this early in
$119 for a lid? No thanks
Illinois, gross 🤢
🧐
@@CichlidBros 😆
Just butchered “anticipated” in the beginning
Just butchered whatever joke you were trying to make
@@CichlidBros go to bed pal, you’re done.
