    Thank you for sharing your videos with us. I'm a new reefer struggling with some common issues and sometimes it gets me down. But then I see your videos and I'm reminded what I'm working towards and why it's worth it. Your videos are both inspirational and soothing to me and I'm really grateful I get to see your beautiful work. Thanks again. 😊

    I love the feeling when after you are done cleaning the tank and all of the algae spores from the glass have been caught up by the filter sock or skimmer. That freshly clean tank with ultra clear water and glass feeling is incredible! As usual keep up the AMAZING videos man.

    I'd kill for a tank like this, so beautiful! I'm yet to make the jump from freshwater as saltwater just feels so much more complex and overwhelming to me!

    • @kksheff9296
      @kksheff9296 Před 2 lety +1

      it is so much more complex but you'll likely never go back to freshwater lol. That's what happened to me 🤣

    • @bigbowlowrong4694
      @bigbowlowrong4694 Před rokem +2

      It’s really not that complex at all (or at least, it doesn’t HAVE to be). I have a softie/anemone tank and I can’t remember the last time I tested the water (I might check the salinity every now and then to make sure it’s right). Last time I did a water change was over a month ago and the corals are all happy. I don’t have a skimmer - the only things in the filter is a bit of filter mat, some Seachem Matrix, and a little bag of carbon.
      If you get into stony corals it’s a different story - you need to pay attention to alkalinity and calcium and magnesium and pH and keeping your nitrate and phosphate in check. But softies are very forgiving and easy.

    Why not change to an Intank Media Basket? Best decision I’ve ever made for my tank. No more messing around with socks. Socks aren’t fully clean as well except if you let em sit in bleach.
    My sock cleaning method:
    Rinse out under tap.
    Soak in RODI + bleach for 2 days.
    Soak in RODI for 2 days
    Hang dry for 2 days.
    Result were white socks like the socks I put on my feet :P
    Tank is looking great!

    Love your videos mate!!! You inspired me to start a Nano tank and i purchased the exact one you have. I'm just wondering if your still running the same filtration that you put in originally. Im thinking of using marine pure rather than the bio balls it comes with. Maybe if you could share what's your filtration now would be very much appreciated. Thanks again and keep up the awesome videos!!!

    • @BlueReefTank
      @BlueReefTank  Před 2 lety +1

      I actually still kept all the original filters and I added a couple of bio balls. That's all the filtration I have on my tank. The only thing I change recently is the filter sock to a filter cup. It makes maintenance so much easier! :) I hope that helps

    My Waterbox 20 cube has just passed the 5 month mark, I am please to say that I am seeing spots of coraline all over the place now. My Blasto shows me five new heads when she lifts up her skirt :-) Out of interest what intensity setting do you use on your Kessil. My peak intensity is 30% anything over that an some of my corals close up. Most corals for me are zoas and LPS. I just love Goniapora and clams. I will wait a little longer before I get a clam.

    • @BlueReefTank
      @BlueReefTank  Před 2 lety

      By doing slow drip acclimation, we're essentially matching the water parameters slowly to our tank so as to not cause any shock to the corals. If you normally get your water from the same LFS that you got your coral from, then the water parameters should be very similar but because I make my own water, the difference in water parameters (pH, Alk, Calc etc.) can cause a lot of stress or even kill the corals 🙂 Hence why I always acclimate my corals and it doesn't hurt to be extra "safe" I guess
